Hello everyone!

I've just registered, and I'm not even sure what I really want or need, writing this post...

Maybe right now I just need to share my story, and some encouragement...

If you're gonna read this until the end, I bow to you and pay my respect!

Well, the thing is, I already was in The Hive, like over 10 years ago.

I was a little younger, haven't got family and had a lot of fun just living. I was fit, or I just want to think that way about myself... and had lot of fun posting here, taking records on my fitness journey. But in the meantime a lot changed, I got into some troubles, stopped taking care of myself. Most crucial problem is that I got obese, diabetes type 2, fatty liver and other health problems, caused by unhealthy lifestyle.

And just around four months ago I decided to say stop to myself, and become once again the true me, that guy that was healthy, energetic and happy with himself.
So at first I changed my diet, slowly gave up on sugar, and right now, most of carbohydrates like wheat, pasta and so on. Thanks to that I was able to reverse my diabetes!
Then I added some exercises. I started to go to the gym nearby my new home place. And I was very pleased, when I started to see results, that my body started to changing. I also got a lot of strenght, because after 2 months of working out only 2 times a week, I was able to squat 8x with 120kg on my shoulders. (Thank you Darebee - You teached me to never skip leg day ;) )
In that time, until today I lost around 9-10kgs (but I'm still over 150kg), and 11cm in my belly. My arms started to looking better, and my face got leaner.
But than came that day, when I was just a little tired, but just wanted to do my training. So I got to my gym, did warm up, and tried to deadlift... 50kg , 80, 100 ... two years ago 150kg wasn't a big problem for me... now I couldn't handle 120kg ...
I just forgot that I'm over 30 years old now, and my obese body is not so strong like it was 5 or ten years ago...
I was very surprised when I touched my belly and discover something unusual, so the next day I went to hospital, and now I'm waiting for operation, it's planned next thursday.
That deadlift caused umbilical hernia...
Doctor said I can't do any strenght training, like it wasn't just obvious for me :( And I wont be able to do it for next 2-3 months...

All that made me started to thinking about Darebee and bodyweight training. I remembered that feeling I had when I was 23 year old guy, doing my workouts from 30 days of cardio blast, or Combat hiit, how great I felt back then

To be honest, I'm not sure what do I expect writing that all... Maybe if some of you have any experience with problems like mine, can you share your story?
I really want to be active, now all I can do is just walk.
Maybe you can give me any tips, which workouts are just fine, not to make any more harm to myself?

Since you have to have surgery, always ask the doctors what you can or cannot do, before and after the operation.
Some light bodyweight exercises such as LIIT (Low Impact Interval Training) could be a good idea to not lose your momentum in getting back to training consistently, always asking your doctor.
You have already made the decision to get better and have already worked on it with good results, this is just a small setback that you will overcome :)

Hi
And welcome back to the hive :hi:

You have had your fair share of ups and downs. I bow down in respect for not giving up. You my freind are a true warrior.
Now to keep it up. Yes your body is hurt, yes you are facing surgery, but you are not facing inactivity.
As an other very smart darbee already wrote, always ask your doctor first before doing any strength even body weight. You DO NOT want to make your situation worse.
You are allowed to only walk? Then walk! Walking is a great form of exercise, especially to keep that nasty diabetes in check. Plus side is it helps your mental health too. I think that is something that we all need to keep healthy.
Look for other hobbies in the meantime. Keep yourself in good spirits. Read here in the community, write in your check in log. Everyone here will cheer you on.
I can assure you I will :applause:
