It wasn't a good day at all. I did my stretches, and then Mom and I had an early morning doctor's appointment. I didn't want to try to squeeze in a walk before we had to go, so we were waiting a bit. Dad started in on his whole passive-aggressive thing about my aunt again (a freaking constant) and I ended up blowing up. I was so shaky for the rest of the day, and my blood pressure was so high when I went to the doctor. The nurse ended up taking it manually because it was such a high number. Then we went out to eat at a new place, which was good. THEN a dentist appointment and I forgot my id, my phone was about to die, and I couldn't even think straight. No cavities, though.

I was so thoroughly exhausted at the end of the day.

♡ Charlie Follows 20 Min Yoga for Sciatica

Long day. My mom and two of my aunts (BB and DC) took my other aunt (DB) to the next state over to get some medical tests done. I got up early so I could get my mom's help with my dogs (a two-person job that my dad would be unable to do) before they left. I had the intention of going back to sleep for a bit after they left, but by then I was wide awake. So I got started with the laundry. My dad kept harping on me to go to sleep, to wait until they came back home to do the laundry, and whatnot. I had plans on getting my stuff done and exercising afterwards. By the time I was almost done with laundry, I was tired again, but my back was hurting. So I did a quick yoga session before taking a "nap". I don't think I actually slept but I did rest enough for me to not fall asleep the rest of the day.

My mom told me last night that aunt DC didn't help with anything when they went down. They had stopped to visit with some "relatives" of ours to pass the time. I guess they had been waiting with my mom and aunts at one time, too. My mom asked aunt DC to take aunt DB in, because my mom had already done it once. Aunt DB said she couldn't walk that far. Mind you, she walks without assistance all the time. My mom on the other hand has been having trouble walking, even for a short distance, because of her back. I'm working on getting a cushion going so she can do some chair yoga or workouts and hopefully cut down on some of her pain, but as of right now, shes still very much in pain when it comes to walking. And she had to go walk my aunt in there yet again. And when they had gone to lunch earlier that day, aunt DC got queso on my aunt DB's dime and only shared it with the relatives they were visiting. Normally she doesn't share with anybody and will jump in without asking if someone gets an appetizer or anything. But of course she had to put on airs. It's this crap and other things that makes my dad mad. I just get so tired of people.

♡ Back & Core Challenge Day 3

Mom and aunts made the trip to pick up my other aunt. Guess who did all the work? My mom. Guess who got to visit with the relatives while my mom was doing all the work? My aunts. There really was no point in aunt DC going either time. It was offered to get her out of the house because of my dad and his grumpiness. And aunt B knows her way around where they were going, but other than that, mom almost would have been better off going on her own if she had to do everything anyway.

No walk today, since it was a holiday. I still hate this holiday with a passion. I don't know what there is to celebrate right now, anyway. Fireworks went on until at least 1 in the morning. Big freaking booming ones. You ever just want to yell at people to go to sleep?

Sorry for your family drama. I agree entirely about the day. Didn't leave my house for a minute.

We thankfully only had one person set off fireworks after 12 and it was quick. I guess the locals get enough of the city display 🤷🏻‍♀️

@JCU We have so many going off in our neighborhood. It lasts at least two nights. It's six now, and they're starting to set them off again. The early fireworks were the main reason why we decided against walking. We'd actually heard booms earlier (like before noon early), but we weren't fully sure if they were fireworks or not.

@CODawn I don't know, I feel like the anger is pretty rational. After a certain point, it's just too damn much. Car alarms are getting set off and it goes on forever. I had a long day yesterday and was exhausted by bedtime, but every time I got close to falling asleep, a really loud one would go off. My aunts talked about another loud one at 1 this morning. I guess by then I was tired enough it didn't matter, but it was after midnight by the time I fully fell asleep. And we have a lot of dogs and cats in our neighborhood, too. I hate to think how any outside pets are handling it. There's definitely no consideration for anyone.

I was so tired from Friday night that I didn't exercise on Saturday. Today was kind of a rough day with grocery shopping. Mom was also feeling sick, so I went grocery shopping with just my sister and aunt. I only got what was on our list and my mom was surprised I didn't get snacks that weren't on the list.

We had planned on an early morning walk, but dad woke up later due to his dog keeping them up all night. So we went on another evening walk.

It was a long day. I went to bed a little later than I meant to, and woke up a little earlier than I wanted to (thanks, Fonzie). We went grocery shopping again in a larger store. Then I mowed the lawn. I was so exhausted after the morning/early afternoon, I took an unwanted nap during Hazardous History with Henry Winkler. Then the walk with my dad and brother. Stomach issues kept me up later than I wanted to again.

One aggravating thing about my dad going with us? His stupid comments. When it was just us, he didnt say anything. Now that my brother is walking with us, he has to try to be funny. It's not funny. It's aggravating. And after the walks, there's the constant asking me if walking will help my brother. Even after I answer. The last two times, my dad walked without his cane. Now he's added, "I walked without my cane! Are you proud of me?" to his usual repetitive comments. Mom is tempted to get gold stars for him.

Skipped the last two days due to weather and my brother wanting to skip. Dad was prepping for a colonoscopy, so he couldn't. Didn't think he'd go today, but he did. He complained about how long the walk was, asking if we were almost there. I finally told him when we were almost done with that street that if he didn’t stop complaining we'd turn around and go the way we came. We went the "long" street (there's a little curve at the end that makes it longer) today, so he did not like that option. It usually takes us 17 minutes to walk it, but this time it only took 16. *I don't think the mph data on my watch is too accurate. And I know it was a lot for him because of his procedure and not being able to eat the day before, plus when he doesn't go for a few days, it's rougher on him. But when we're in the middle of the walk, all he can do is keep going.

Found out yesterday that we have a goat in our neighborhood! It's on the other street we normally walk down. We're going to go that way tomorrow.

Feeling much better.

Dad had another procedure and he wasn't feeling well, so he didn't walk with us.

We walked the two streets. I just had a feeling that because dad wasn't going with us, we'd see the goat. And we saw the goat!!! My brother didn't see him at first, but the goat heard us and started walking towards us. It's so cute. It has a little bandana and everything. It bleated at us and I was talking to it a little. Then it decided to pee, so I assumed our conversation was over. I told it bye and it bleated again.

Dad was upset he didn't get to see it.

We went to see the goat again. We didn't see it at first, and dad was starting to complain. "Every time you walk without me, you see the goat. Every time I walk with you, we don't see it." Literally just found out that there was a goat in the neighborhood, and we'd only walked without him once, but okay. Then we saw the goat laying down on a dog house. I had brought Fonzie with us this time, and I tried to show him the goat, but the goat was just chewing and Fonzie didn't even notice the goat.

So sad to hear of Malcolm-Jamal Warner passing. It's another one that just doesn't feel real.

Pissed my dad off today. He has a habit of getting annoyed if anyone shows him something on their phones, refusing to look at it, or even getting mad when my mom looks at something my aunt shows her, because he's next to her. He also has a habit of showing me and my mom things he sees on Facebook multiple times a day. So he got frustrated with my aunt this morning for trying to show him something. Then me, my mom, and my aunt were fixing dinner. Dad comes in to show mom something on Facebook. I said, "Mom, you should tell him you don't need to see it." He asked me why. I told him because he doesn't want to look at anything someone shows him, so what was the difference? He didn't like that.

This goat is breaking my heart!! It's starting to kind of recognize us, so it was watching us as we were walking. It started to bleat, so I would respond to it and we would have a little conversation. Then this baby runs down to the yard and starts running around and jumping over things, bleating at us. I feel bad because it's owners aren't around, so we can't ask about stopping and giving it attention.

The goats owner was coming down the street as we were walking. My brother told me not to talk to the goat since the owners were there. First of all, I was only answering the goat when it talked to me. We didn't want to bother them after they just got home, so we didn't ask them anything.

No walk today, either. My dad was even started to feel bad.

My witch of an aunt with a capital B is in town, and she had told us yesterday she was going to come visit us today. My dad told her early this morning that my brother wasn't feeling good, so it was probably best not to come. I think he kind of changed his mind later and was seeing about how she felt about coming over anyway, but she said she'd pass. After my dad had said i was also coming down with something, and she asked a bunch of questions, including if it was covid. It's not, but I don't know why she's so worried about it. She practically told us she didn't believe in it. Anyway, I'm grateful for the sickness because it kept her away and I didn't feel like dealing with her. Is that mean? Sure. Am I petty? Yeah. Do I care? Nope.

My sister texted me later asking if mom and I were sick. I explained that my mom was fine, but me, my dad, and my brother were a little sick. Of course she'd been in touch with dear old auntie.

Bonus note: This happened today (July 27), but I'm including this now anyway. Aunt texted my dad saying that they were "going to invite us" to my little cousin's birthday party today, but since we're sick.... And guys. There's just so much here.

First of all, there was never going to be an invitation. My cousin has been out here for a few years now, and we've never gotten an invitation for either of her kids' birthdays. Which is fine.

Second, even IF there was going to be an invitation, this was never brought up by either my aunt or my cousin during the first talk of a visit. So this imaginary invitation was going to be extended day of (or, I'll be generous, the evening before), and we'd be expected to drop our plans and show up to a birthday party that was never mentioned.

Third, and the truth of the matter, my aunt doesn't believe we're really sick (we are!) and is seriously trying to guilt trip us for not seeing her. Mind you, this woman has come out here before, never visited us, while we saw her visit all over Facebook, and only after she was back home did she say anything to us. Now, this side of my family has a bad habit of getting pissed off if we go out there to visit them (them being my two aunts and my cousin) and we stay at one aunt's house versus the other. And we better come and visit them at their houses! But we are never given the same consideration. Which, again, is fine. But don't try to guilt trip us because we didn’t see you, especially when we know neither of them actually care to.

Wow. Families are tough stuff, aren't they? I have a few family members, both close and distant that I'm none too fond of.

No walk today either. I was exhausted, frustrated, and too worn out to even consider our short walk.

Sister was invited to the party yesterday. My mom bought little gifts for her to take to the party for my little cousin.

My dad is saying he doesn't care, but he does. He keeps harping on it.

I've reached a point where I'm just done with this particular family member. I am a little frustrated when it comes to her behavior. I have no problem with her not coming to visit/not saying anything about her visiting until after she goes home. My mom has no problem with it. My brother has no problem with it, and I'm sure my sister wouldn't have a problem with it (even though she is my aunt's favorite niece out here. Yes, my aunt actually said the quiet part out loud in front of me). My dad is the only one who has a problem with it. It's just things that she's done throughout the years, and the double standard of it all. She'd let my cousin go to sleepovers when we came over, saying I could go with her, knowing that there was no way I'd do it because I'm horribly shy. When my grandpa died, there were copies of his picture made and these were handed out to her friends before it was handed out to us, when my siblings lived in different houses than my parents. We had to make our own copies. And she did so many things the last time I saw her, that I was just finally done. But if we were to do any of that, we'd never hear the end of it. I'm working on not even getting frustrated by it, because I have my own mental issues. I don't need any of hers to add on to mine.

Well, while initially grateful, this sickness is determined to hang on. I just mostly have cough and fatigue now, but it is time for it to move along.

Bad news. The goat is no longer in my neighborhood. This was my favorite part of our walk.

Mom's attempt to be nice to my aunt and cousin didn't go well. No thank you from my cousin for the gifts mom sent over. And mom texted my aunt the morning she left to wish her a safe trip and tell her she loved her. My aunts reply? "I will." I've never seen someone so pissed we kept them from being sick. Even though I'm sure she doesn't believe we were sick at all. The childish things this 67 year old woman does. It's hilarious.

We didn't walk yesterday. For context: We got a slushie machine last Saturday, bought mostly because we can make frozen coffees in it. I'm also not feeling 100% after being sick. I have this weird thing where the thought of eating makes me feel like I could be sick, but it's not quite nausea and I'm fine if I actually eat, as well as I feel a little dizzy sometimes. Because of this, I will drink a vitamin water or whatever for more hydration and the extra vitamins. I don't normally just drink these.

I had asked my brother when I was putting away the clothes if we were going. He said if I wanted to. I told him I planned on making a slushie out of my Body Armor. I put my shoes on and come back down and he said we would skip tonight. I said I just got ready. He said, "well you were going to make your drink." I tried to explain to him that I intended on putting my drink in the machine before we left and it would be ready by the time we got back. I got to "I was going to" before he face palmed like he was getting annoyed, so I told him whatever. I wasn't going to deal with it. So I went back upstairs, took off my shoes and came back down. My dad was confused and asked us what we were going to do. I said we weren't going anywhere. My dad got frustrated, which made my brother mad. He was saying everyone was mad and yelling at him. I told him I only said whatever because he face palmed when I was trying to explain. He told me he face palmed because I got an attitude with him. I did not get an attitude until he gave me one. My mom saw the whole thing go down, and she knew what happened. My brother left because he got mad, went shopping, and came back with the A&W ice cream sundae soda, which was delicious. I get that it was a misunderstanding and everything, but let me explain before you get frustrated.

So we went today, and I got my slushie going before we left like I had planned. My brother is still claiming I got mad at him first.

Brother and I went to Scooter's to try their chips ahoy blender. We'd gone a couple weeks ago for my aunt and I to try the nutter butter (he'd already snuck over there to get one) and him to try the chips ahoy, but they gave him an oreo one instead. So we tried again, hoping we'd all get to try it this time. Thankfully, we did! We told the lady taking our order what happened last time, and we were all laughing about it. THEN she had to open her mouth and tell us about an upcoming oatmeal cream pie blender. So there will be another trip in the future.

We're going to start making our own frozen coffees (the blended ones at Dutch are just so good), but we're still going to try new flavors at our coffee shops from time to time, or when our free birthday drinks come along. We got stuff to make our own chocolate chip cookie and oatmeal cream pie coffees, and I hope they work out! We're going to make them on Sundays, because that's when all us coffee drinkers are home and there's no morning obligations, but my dad is trying to get me to make one sooner. He says he can wait but he hasn't stopped talking about it.

I'd gotten over the illness mostly a few weeks ago, but I still had a pretty bad cough. On top of that, I was getting a lot of acid throughout the day and at night. Which was just lovely when combined with the cough and my gag reflex was trigged when I had to clean up after my pug. Went to the doctor last week and was put on medication for the acid, which he said might help the cough. The acid and the cough are mostly gone!

I'm trying to start slowly. I'll be focusing on yoga for a bit.

And I know I'm a few weeks late for this observation, but watching the latest new episode of Celebrity Family Feud was so nice. My entire family is huge fans of John Ritter, and getting to see his family on there (and all their zaniness) was just so cool. I loved how they represented the foundation. Can't believe we're nearing 22 years with him gone.
