This morning the gym was freezing because the heating wasn't working, so doing deep squats in front of an open wall was a feat. :)
The new program works well and the variations planned during the 9 weeks that it will last work well to avoid boredom and prevent the body from adapting too easily.
There's a real risk that I'll learn to train in the gym... no, I'm kidding but I mess around very creatively with great delight. :D

Yesterday I finally skipped the gym after finding out that neither the heating nor the hot water were working. I'm managing not to get the flu like I usually do in December, and I'd like to persevere. :P
However, this morning I went to the gym well wrapped up and since I could manage the training myself I didn't have any major problems even though it was still cold, by the end of the training the problem was definitively resolved. :)

Today the gym's opening days and times for the Christmas holidays were released, and I did the right thing by training this week because next week (rightly so) I won't be able to train more than once in the evening. In the morning, there's no point in going just one day when I've organized my workouts into three, or at least two, sessions. So next week, I'll be back to my beloved Darebee combat workouts and taking it easy. :)

Something unpleasant happened yesterday, nothing serious but it upset me and since I consider this a safe corner of mine, I'm talking about it.
Yesterday a courier refused to deliver a package to me because I hadn't answered the phone. I went downstairs when he rang the bell, and by the time I'd climbed the stairs, he was already running away without even having the package in his hand.
I reached him at his van, knocked on the window since he was ostentatiously pretending not to see me, asked if he had a package to deliver to me and demanded that he do so.
He rudely took the package and then started yelling at me not to touch it when I reached out to take it. I didn't touch it; I hadn't intended to. He said the package was his until he delivered it, and only then was it mine. I turned around and went back into the house, irritated and annoyed.
I called customer service and reported the incident.
I was nervous and angry all day and even now when I think about it I get irritated.
One thing really struck me, while I was there and the courier was spitefully preventing me from taking my package, all I wanted to do was take it by force.
I consider myself an intelligent, cultured, open-minded and reasonable person but all I wanted to do was use violence to solve the problem.
I didn't do it and I still think I was right not to do it but I can't help but think that perhaps under the veneer of civilization that covers us in the end there is the same old club from thousands of years ago.

I'm glad you were able to finally get your package. I'm sorry you had to deal with the jerk though. Those types of folks are so infuriating! But it shows a lot of your character in how you handled it. (Both in not responding with the initial instinct of violence, but also reporting it so that it could be addressed.)

I started strength training again at the gym, it wasn't uphill at all. :P
I'm mulling over how to incorporate the new program into my training:
The most sensible thing to do seems to me to be at difficulty level I, so it's about 10-15 minutes of training at most, easily doable on the fly with a minimum warmup. :)

I admit I miss doing the programs and Darebee challenges like I used to do years ago, but I also enjoy the strength training I've created at the gym and going to Muay Thai for the great group I've formed.
So I'll invent some balancing, trying to do one program and one Darebee challenge as an extra workout; let's see if it works. :D
I'm also mulling over @Damer 's new video which, as always, is very interesting.

I'm also trying to calibrate my trainings, but dam I open this site up and want to do every single thing and get all those shiny badges:panic: It's hard :sweat:
At one point I had managed to do all of Darebee's programs and then... they suddenly released a gazillion of them. :LOL:

I did a test: 300 points in the Arcade challenge is less than 2 minutes, I'll stick to that because I don't feel like doing the math every day for every exercise. :P
Three sets without rest of House of the Valkyrie were under 5 minutes, although there will be more difficult days, I still doubt I'll reach 15 minutes between warmup, challenge and program, so the whole thing should be doable and above all I like it. :)

There were definitely too many people in the gym today for January 2nd. :P
I will also use the program as a mental workout, since I like to know, plan, and control. I won't look at what the day's workout involves until it's exactly time to do it.
I'm also enjoying the challenge, I've never liked jumping but my calves will definitely benefit from it. :)
