Good Lord, this site is still here. Had to make a new account though.
I was around here in 2020 during lockdowns, my peak health and weight and fitness after 2 years of working on all these.

Since then it has been a rollercoaster. I remember the Darebee Programs were pretty neat to get through, and motivating from the gamification/tracking angle.
Back to Foundation Level I, here I am. I feel the soreness coming up!

Thank you all. Day 1... I can still feel my butt with this glutes mini session :tears:- always forget those get truly neglected in day to day movements.
Once this challenge is completed I will likely incorporate the clamshell + hip extension exercise in addition to any program I select. Those are efficient and a killer > 22sec video

July 21
- 1 hr walk around town before deciding to commit to a Darebee program. I felt somewhat depressed and bored. Walking helped.

July 22
- Foundation Level I (1/30)
- Glutes of Steel (1/30)
- 1 Minute Meditation Challenge (1/30) - will likely do it twice a day, morning when I wake up and before bed, in my bed, since it's the same exercise every day.
- Stomach Vacuums Challenge (1/30) - intriguing, no clue where this one leads...

Are you better today ?
Yup! Browsing the challenges and programs to see what I can add up to be a mini-workout and ease back into all sorts of movements.

I now see what the stomach vacuums are leading to (starting to feel them where they are supposed to work!)

July 25
- Foundation Level I (4/30)
- Glutes of Steel (4/30)
- 1 Minute Meditation Challenge (4/30) - doing this one numerous times a day. Impossible to perform right after any sort of cardio effort though!
- Stomach Vacuums Challenge (4/30)
- Dead Hang (2/30)
- Five Minute Plank (2/30)

- 1 Minute Meditation Challenge (9/30) - oops forgot to do yesterday!
- Stomach Vacuums Challenge (9/30) - oops forgot to do yesterday!
- Dead Hang (8/30)
- Five Minute Plank (8/30)

every time I look at the 5min plank schedule, im like.... dayum. can I get there... yet I remember 5 years ago getting there with ONLY this challenge (along with Foundation and a couple other classics, unrelated to planks)... so far so good. Some jumps in time between days feel like a LOT

I hope the same happens with the dead hang of 2 minutes haha
first time doing this one. my main challenge is the skin inside the hands doesnt have the "roughs" not to hurt, and my fingers feel "stuck" in the curled position when I'm done with them, I feel it's working out my hands more than anything else right now!

do you use gloves?
nope :) I figured eventually I wont be so sensitive - it feels like hands get slippery too after a bit (sweat).
back when I was rowing (another thing I plan to get back on), I also did not use gloves and eventually the skin got way thicker right under the fingers - I dont know how this is called in English, but Im sure you know what I mean!

The term would be calloused. :) And yeah, that should happen. But it takes so long for it. ;n;

Trying to test/implement changes... I'm back to work now, from vacation. When I get back from work the last thing I want to do after sitting down, is to get up again to work out and feel discomfort. It could be my issues with keeping motivated.

I'm trying a new dynamic: doing the program and a couple challenges in the AM before leaving for work, and leaving easier/simple ones for when I get back. Will see if I can sustain this (especially when the days get shorter now and it's now dark when I wake up already).

August 3-4
-AM Foundation Level I (14/30)
-AM Glutes of Steel (14/30)
- 1 Minute Meditation Challenge (12/30)
-PM Stomach Vacuums Challenge (12/30)
-AM Dead Hang (12/30)
-PM Five Minute Plank (12/30)

August 8-10
-AM Foundation Level I (20/30)
-AM Glutes of Steel (20/30)
- 1 Minute Meditation Challenge (18/30)
-PM Stomach Vacuums Challenge (17/30)
-AM Dead Hang (18/30) - 60 sec milestone :v:
-PM Five Minute Plank (18/30) - 3 min milestone :v:
-AM Touch Your Toes (2/30)

Tought I would need to buy chalk for the dead hangs since hands were slowly slipping through them and it's so annoying... turns out cleaning the bar with alcohol and washing my hands gets everything "dry enough" to dead hang some more!

Planks become a mind game past the 2.5min mark... I remember that from 5 years ago.

Anyone knows of a challenge or a workout to build wrist strength?

Touch your toes added, and well, I am VERY FAR from touching my toes haha! Curious how this one will evolve over 30 days.

computer reboot without my explicit permission during the night... lost all checks on the programs and challenges to track... very annoying. I guess this is what these check in threads are for! ffs.... :persevering: I thought those would be saved because we have to log in to even put the programs into bookmarks, thought that was saved. It's just a visual tool?

From what I understand, the trackers at the bottom of programs/challenges are tied to your browser cookies and isn't dependent of being logged in. So it only saves per device/browser. I'm constantly accidentally clearing all of my cookies so I keep a paper log (when I wasn't using my check-in thread) or make sure I keep track in my thread.

oooh cookies related.. so the cookies get deleted when the computer reboots lol. OOPS

Ill track on paper from now on, like you! :D Also, to add insult to injury, I lost power while I was at work due to a storm, came up to losing all the checks I had redone this morning - again. LOL

Planks still going good. I was sure I would crash past the 3min mark. Color me surprised!

August 11-13

Interesting... yesterday I started feeling sick (fever and sore muscles all over, and a sore throat). I had the dead hang and the plank left to do.
Dead hang was supposed to be 1m30s. I did 1m10s out of sheer will. Dang. Getting the flu or whats not took its toll for a day or two.
Rain check for today. Wonder if my dead hang and planks will be affected for a few days. Will try to fail and go from there.
Definitely need a hot bath now. I havent gotten the flu in YEARS, wondering whats going on!

:love:Could it be covid?
Pretty sure it's not. I initially thought it could be because I slept with all of my windows open (my bedroom has 4) and it was a pretty chill night (13C), but no wind. I have a nice duvet, but oh well.
Muscle soreness is gone, I'm now in the sneezing phase!
Tomorrow morning will try to go back to the routines and check in performance. Runny nose should not affect anything, right?

well that was one long BS bout of the cold... FINALLY waking up without a fever... This lasted 4 days total, and I was riding on fumes. Did not train Sunday and Monday, trying to do anything Saturday could've made the overall soreness worse? I don't know. I haven't had the fever and muscle soreness in YEARS (dates to pre-covid era), maybe I've turned into a wimp lol. Or, starting to exercise again got something out of my body and I "detoxed" some nasties. Who knows?

I don't know how to "track" my program and challenges anymore lmao. I skipped days. I'm not a streak person, so it's fine. I think I will keep going with Foundation and the challenges, except the ones that are "time-based" (plank and dead hang) and start those over from where I can hit my best time.

After this cold thing, I feel I am riding on a literal HIGH. Interesting!
I have not re-started any of my program and challenges YET, but I registered to an activity at work about running a 5K.
I have never jogged and much less, jogged or ran 5K. The fun thing is that this is an organized activity at work, and everyone registed gets coaching and a weekly training schedule from an expert runner, and on October 25th we will all run 5K together in a location :)

Tuesday afternoon (first day out of that cold), I bought new running shoes (never had them), and Wed morning I walked/jogged the scheduled program. Did it again this morning. Going to track this in here even though it's not a Darebee program. Let's see if I get there and run 5K without walking, from 0/sedentary level with a 3-week Darebee beginner program as my only pre-emptive preparation for this :)

I also ordered a keto mojo and will start tracking glucose/ketone levels. Im pretty sure I am off on something (bad sleep and energy levels not as high as they should be). Will be tweaking eating schedule accordingly. Currently on 2MAD with early breakfast (5AM) and early dinner (4PM).

Some accountability in numbers. I took my "resolution" 1 month ago. Checked in daily on macros, and weight. Started the Darebee Foundation Level I, and some challenges at the same time. I had forgotten to take measurements (more important than weight!) so I logged them in today to track hip/waist/thighs back again in a few weeks. Lost 7 lbs in 4 weeks (4.7% weight loss), which is a good rate for me, imo from my past experiences. I know some of that is likely water weight since I dropped all major carb sources - except that one spicy sauce lol. But hey, I'll take it! Nothing is linear with a journey back to a healthier lifestyle!
