... continuation from Foundation quest on Kendra's thread.

Foxy (@NightWolf714 ) spilled marbles all over the path. She must like me - probably wanted me to make her a necklace.
Birdie (@Kendra) had long flown away, probably not wanting to waste time with us (and I don’t want to troll her thread if she’s not into it anyway).
While picking up the marbles and hopping around, I stepped on a few and slipped. I hurt my right elbow and forearm. Foxy took pity on my howling and brought me to her cousin, the bonesetter.
I waited in line outside his little clinic, and when my turn came, he greeted me with a smile and asked what happened. When I explained, he asked:
β€œDo you have health insurance?”
β€œWhat’s that?”
β€œDo you have $150?”
β€œWhere would a coyote get $150?”
β€œNext!”
I launched a hundred complaints and objections, and the bonesetter replied: β€œWhy do you all complain to medical workers? Go see a psychiatrist. But he costs money too.”
β€œAnd where am I supposed to find money in this desert?”
From the line, a crocodile spoke up: β€œThere’s a Bee Circus not far from here, they pay one dollar for every trick you perform.”
So I found them and performed acts from 12 Foundation. The next day I returned and threw $150 at the bonesetter.
He looked at my elbow and said: β€œDon’t strain it, don’t lean on it too much. Rest, and if it really hurts, lick it three times.”
β€œWhat? That’s what I already knew myself! Is that worth $150?”
β€œThis is medical advice. That’s why I went to school. And if the pain continues, buy BS Rapid at the pharmacy and rub it on.”
When I asked what BS Rapid was, he pointed at a Bull and calmly said to another patient:

Last few days I feel pain in elbow and forearm, that is probably because overuse of that muscles on rings, by pulling up, and hang on one hand. I'll have to be still few days and leave arms alone, by focusing on legs and abs.

Joking... Because of my impatient nature, it happened that I ignored an important rule:

Slow and Steady

Take your time and move forward in small, steady steps. Each little gain adds up, and over time those small increments turn into big improvements. Rushing the process only increases the risk of injury and can set you back instead of moving you ahead.

As I wandered down the path without much interest, I suddenly saw Foxy rolling on her back in the bushes.
A chill ran down my spine: I turned pale with fear.
I worried that her stomach hurt because she had eaten Birdie and couldn’t digest her… but that wasn’t the case.
It turned out she was doing crunches on Day 13 of Foundations, while Birdie was far away on 18th, sprinting down the road on her own.
What a relief.
Just the day before, I had visited the old owl to try to get a mini hand drill and some silk thread, so I could make a necklace for Foxy from the marbles she had spilled along my path.
The old owl asked for $200 for the drill and $100 for the thread.
You can’t do anything without money.
The Bee Circus was nearby, but my injured arm wouldn’t allow me to perform all the acts.
I thought: maybe I’ll try something simpler. But who would be interested in an old, injured coyote anyway?
No matter. I’ll just do what Foxy does. I once heard stories that if you want someone to notice you, and maybe even like you, you should imitate their movements and actions.

It costs me nothing to try.
So here I am… doing ab exercises at Day 13.

I sat there, tongue hanging out, watching Foxy keep in shape.
She was performing some kind of strange dance.
First, she sent me hugs, then she shifted away to the side, and then she waved her hand over head as if she’d had enough of everything.
Of course, I started imitating her.
Foxy can talk a lot, but I don’t fully understand the fox language, we’re different species, after all, I’m a coyote.
She seemed to be saying that she produces threads and would give me one if I drilled the marbles, that her friend has a ship and transports bracelets across the ocean, and that she’s bored here and wants to travel…
Or at least that’s how I understood it.
And while I was enjoying the music of her voice and slowly melting into her beautiful pink eyes, lost in thought…
Suddenly, a giant rat jumped before my eyes and shrieked:
β€œI have a solution for you!”
Startled and frightened, I leapt back several meters.
β€œWho the f* are you?”
β€œI’m a rat, and my name is Google Ads. I just happened to overhear your conversation, and we have the perfect solution for you. I’ll direct you to a place where you can drill marble stones for only $8.95 apiece.”
I bared my teeth and lunged at him, growling, but he quickly slipped into a hole.
By then, Foxy had already disappeared behind the rocks.

I had been wandering for a few days, sniffing out the trails of Foxy and Birdie. I was already on Day 15 of Foundation. Sometimes I’d step back a little, sometimes rise up on my toes to see if I could spot them, waving my arms to push branches aside.
I thought I saw Foxy on a hill, so I ran, but suddenly I found myself under a rock where Cougar was sitting. I got scared.
She said, β€œWhat are you doing?”
β€œI’m looking for Foxy and Birdie.”
β€œI can see that, and so can everyone around. I’m asking you why.”
I said, β€œWell, to hang out and travel together.”
Cougar replied: β€œStop doing that. You’re different species, you don’t belong together.”
β€œBut I just want to find friends.”
Cougar said: β€œTell that to someone else. Stop following them. You’re incompatible. Foxy is an iPhone 16, and you’re an old Nokia.”
I tried to make a joke: β€œStill, we could get in touch and exchange SMS. I’ve got better battery life, and I even have Snake.”
β€œDon’t be stupid. Get lost and stop following them. I know Coyote’s tricks.”
My patience broke: β€œWhat are you lecturing me for! Shouldn’t you be hunting young rabbits, or…” I didn’t even finish the sentence before Cougar’s paw struck me hard across the muzzle and threw me back a few steps.
The conversation was over. With my tail tucked in, tears mixed with the blood from my brow, I stumbled down the slope, sobbing.
Suddenly, a flock of birds rose nearby. I knew what it was.
β€œHunters.”
I hadn’t even finished the thought when a loud gunshot rang out, its echo rolling across the mountain.

I have plan to earn badge "50 Burpees in One Go" and call that achievement "Night Wolf", as I tend to name my achievements in Darebee by people I like. Now I'm able to do around 20 burpees, so it will be long jurney. You could help me by giving me some tasks for development from Burpee collection:

Today I upgraded my portable mini gym.

So I now have:
2 x 5kg dumbbells
2 modable dumbbell bars - up to 15 kg
1 modable kettlebell bar - up to 20 kg
2 gym rings with 1.5m chains
2 quick pull-up handles
1 3kg dumbbell for sword imitation
Real Barbarian set. All fits beneath work desk.

Night Wolf Quest

After I heard the gunshot nearby, I ran β€” from Cougar, from Foxy, from Birdie β€” from everyone. I turned around, trying to spot where the hunters were, and in that moment, I fell straight into some kind of hole… a cave… or maybe an abyss of pure dread.
Luckily, I wasn’t hurt.
I walked through the darkness β€” or half-darkness β€” since a few cracks high above let in slivers of pale light. Then I heard Foxy’s voice echoing through the stone. My heart leaped β€” she was thinking of me! Surely she’d come back to find me.
Finally, far above, I saw her silhouette β€” that sly fox shape β€” and her voice came down:
β€œYou have to jump, and keep doing fifty burpees if you want to get out of that hole!”
I shouted back, β€œWhat are burpees? What kind of ridiculous name is that? What does it even mean?”
Her laughter echoed down the walls: β€œYou do a push-up, then jump up. Then again… you’ll learn, slowly.”
Then she vanished.
I kept wandering through the cave until I saw something glowing red in the shape of a letter T. Curious, I came closer and sniffed it β€” and suddenly everything changed. The space, the air, the cave, everything warped.
Next thing I knew, I was standing inside a ruined temple. But I wasn’t a coyote anymore. I was some bald old guy β€” hair only on the sides, sticking out like coyote ears. Huh. At least I was muscular, which I liked. In real life, I’m half that size… maybe less.
Then, out of nowhere, a girl attacked me β€” short-haired brunette, fit and fierce.
Could this be Foxy? Maybe… though I wasn’t sure.
β€œWho are you?” I asked.
She smirked. β€œI’m Asuka β€” in the ancient tongue, that means No Burpees, Trust Me. And I’m here to send you back to history, where you belong.”
Before I even managed to laugh, she lunged at me.
And what do you know… I can fight too.
