Em hotep, little creatures of the multiverse! This is Anpuankhses speaking, your trusted Anubian wolf! Many moons have passed since my last short visit to this plane, I hope this time my stay will be longer and more fruitful.

What can I say that I can't already tell just by looking at me? Son of Anubis, necromancer, pyromancer, a bookworm with the brain of a sphinx always thirsty for knowledge to assimilate and new puzzles and riddles to solve, lover of tea, and a long etc.

I grew up doing all kinds of sports, especially martial arts. To take advantage of my rather strong constitution. It should also be said that I have never ever had a good cardiovascular development. So I've always been more of a tank type: strong and resistant but slow and with very little stamina. You should have seen me defending my father's temple from Apep in my good old days!

However, over time roles change, and I went from temple guardian to higher and more bureaucratic ranks. And after years of sedentary life among papyrus, scrolls, bandages, mummies and canopic jars along with the comfort of much more advanced magic and hundreds of ushabtis to take chores off my hands, I feel that my body no longer responds as it used to. I get tired much more easily and every physical effort starts to feel tiring and heavy.

To this I must add that I recently discovered that I belong to the very select group of autistic creatures. And now I understand that my attention is much more selective, my energy limited, and it is much easier for certain events to completely override me and leave me fatigued and out of action for days. To this I must add a hypersensitivity to textures and a hyposensitivity to flavors that makes my diet very, very specific and, unfortunately, it has turned out that my comfort food consists mostly of highly processed foods with a derisory nutritional contribution.

Nevertheless, I am determined to bring my body to its former glory and beyond. And to that end I have come here and used Darebee's workouts and programs to plan a whole campaign to help me achieve this goal.

Based on the retro arcade game "Altered Beast", I have created a total of 7 folders:

- Insert coin and press start: Where I have workouts thought out in the warm-up prior to the training session.

- Rise from your grave!: Where are the level 1 programs and workouts.

- Power Up!: Level 2 programs and workouts.

- Power Up!!!: Level 3 programs and workouts.

- Transformation!: Level 4 programs and workouts.

- Welcome to your Doom!: Level 5 programs and workouts.

- Game Over: Cool down workouts after the training session.

With this preparation I hope to have the necessary motivation to reach my goals and to be consistent with my objectives!

That's all! See you all in the field of reeds!

Thank you all for the warm welcome! :yaaay:

I have now completed my workout for today.
I've done my two stretching and warm-up workouts, the Baseline workout (which I'm close to completing!), the exercise of the day, my cool down workout, and I've done day two of both the Power Pose and Daily Hug challenge. In that order.

All followed by thirty minutes of relaxation with binaural sounding music.

And another day of exercise completed! I took advantage of last night's cooler rains and today's cloudy weather to start the day by giving my dog a nice walk. Always putting my paw first on the sunny ground and counting to 5, very important. If the wolf's paws don't burn, definitely the dog friend's don't either!

After returning and drinking a cold can of coconut water, I proceeded with today's exercise:
  1. Full Body Stretch
  2. Classic Warmup
  3. Baseline - Day 27
  4. Daily Exercise
  5. Recover & Rebuild
  6. Power Pose Challenge - Day 3
  7. Daily Hug Challenge - Day 3
Unlike other attempts in other years, I don't feel particularly fatigued or feel the impatience and expectation on my shoulders. I have faith that this time I will be able to create a mentally healthy exercise routine.

Love this!

Also, if you feel okay with it, would love to see the dog friend. <3

Sure! He's Bruce. We choose that name because the white floof on his chest looked like the Batman's logo when he was a pup.

Another day following the routine. Last day of Baseline tomorrow!

I admit I panicked a bit when I saw that the daily exercise was five burpees. I always do the knee push-ups because I have a hard time doing the normal push-ups. And I've never done burpees before, so I didn't think I'd be able to.

But do you know who has done them without any problems nor easier variants? That's right, this guy!

I guess I'm not as out of shape as I thought I was, and that makes me very happy. :worried:

First program completed! As soon as I started the series with the side jacks I got a pull in the external obliquus. So when I finished the first set I put red tiger balm on during the break and continued. The pain went away very quickly and I was able to finish without any problems, although it felt like a real final boss. My body has cooled down and I'm not hurting at all, so I guess I saved it in time. Awoohoo!!!

And another day of exercise completed. I admit that when I saw that Foundation's routine today was cardio with march steps my heart skipped a beat, because after yesterday's leg strength workout I woke up with stiffness in muscles I didn't even know I had. Although after today's workout they don't hurt at all, so.... I guess that was the idea?

Although, today's Exercise of the Day felt like a miniboss. :phew:

But it's done now. Time to relax by reducing the tower of books I have half-finished on the table!

Yesterday was a day of leisure and socializing. And although it was a relaxed day, I guess I somehow ended up overstimulated. I slept very little tonight and my stomach is a bit upset. :blackout:

But hey, I kept up my exercise routine and drank more water than usual today. So all good, I guess.

  2. Classic Warmup

  4. Daily Exercise
  5. Recover & Rebuild
  6. Power Pose Challenge - Day 12
  7. Daily Hug Challenge - Day 12 - Level III (Yes, that was a BIG hug!)
Today was abs day, and I thought it would be hard because everything that involves abs has always felt very difficult for me (Among others because I always have fights with gravity, I'm unable to keep my balance while doing an abdominal and I always end up lifting my legs to avoid falling. In fact, when I used to go to the gym there was a punching bag lying around (nicknamed “Saquito-San” by me) and I used to put it over my paws to avoid this, but now in my temple I really don't know what to do about it. Does anyone have any advice?), but today it has become easy for me. Suspiciously and worryingly easy. And now I'm ruminating on whether it turned out that it was a relatively easy exercise to start working abs and somehow I was already past that level without knowing it, or whether I've been exercising wrong and should repeat or do something else.

Well, another morning of exercise completed!

Maybe I should consider doing another series of warm-ups and stretches in the mornings. After coming back from my morning walk with my dog and doing my warm-ups, my legs should have been more than ready, but when I did the first reverse lunges, I got a hell of a pull.

That didn't dampen my spirits, of course. Once again, I finished the set, applied muscle rub, and finished my workout, but it would be great if it didn't happen again.

I should also mention that reverse lunges are a very new exercise for me and I haven't quite got the hang of them yet. I look a bit like a dizzy duck doing them, and I'm sure that also has a big influence. But hey, little by little!

Anyway, have a good day, hive, and remember to check the temperature of the pavement before going out with your pet! :float:

I got up early today to take a long walk with my dog before it got too hot. The poor thing has been a few days that it seems that he does not sleep well, I guess because of the heat, and quite cranky. I think he has pent up energy. So I've decided that I'm going to give him longer walks to see if he gets more tired and sleeps better.

When I got back, and taking advantage of the fact that my body was already warmed up, I did my exercise routine in one go.

At the risk of overloading you ^_^;;; I feel like you've mentioned balance being an issue before. You might consider one of the balance workouts to try and build that up. This is the one I (very occasionally) do. https://darebee.com/workouts/balance-workout.html

Best tip I've heard for balance, though, is that your eyes are most important. Find a spot on the wall to focus on and that'll help. :)

And on top of that, jumping lunges were the exercise of the day today. I definitely appreciated today's protein shake as if it were a health potion!
On the other hand, I feel like the rest of my routine workouts are now second nature to me. I'm happy to see that my body is starting to respond and adapt to the new routine.

I didn't have the best night. Out of nowhere, a storm appeared right above my temple and lasted all night. My ligyrophobia went into overdrive and I slept tensely, ready to run and hide under the table at the first sign of lightning striking too close.

Even so, I got enough sleep, had a good breakfast, and did all my exercises without fail. Take that, Zeus, Seth, and Thor!

Yesterday I finally finished reading Hex, and wow, what an intense read!
Now it's the turn of Bram Stoker's classic Dracula. I've also got my hands on a hardcover edition that is a delight. Embossed cover, illustrated edges, text wrapping around the illustrations... And all with a wonderful medieval feel.

Anyway, today I calculated my protein intake and I can still afford to have a little more, so on strength training days (like today) I'll take 50 grams instead of 30 grams of powder.

It seems that yesterday's physical slump is over. Today was cardio day, and I did all my exercises as usual. I usually keep an eye on my watch, which tracks my heart rate and tells me which of the five intensity levels I am at: Light, Intensive, Aerobic, Anaerobic, and VO2 max.
The first few days after I started exercising again with the Baseline program, I used to reach level 3, aerobic, on cardio days. But today, surprisingly, doing a more intense workout than I did on Baseline, I barely made it past level 1, light.
And since there are no shades of gray in my mind, I played my favorite music to motivate myself and went from zero to one hundred, reaching level 4, the anaerobic level!
I remember feeling completely exhausted after such intense training sessions. I don't understand why I'm able to handle it so well this time, but hey, I'll take it while it lasts!

As if that weren't enough, I've started spending my afternoons playing Beat Saber, Ragnarock, Maestro, and Synth Riders again. I'm seriously considering wearing weights while I play.

Who would have thought that the most intense VR games would be musical ones? And none of them are dance games!

I haven't played those others but Beat Saber is such a work out! Pistol Whip is too, it's another of those rhythm based VR games. So fun though! I haven't played them in a while so I might have to get back into it.

@NightWolf714 Oooh, sounds interesting! I'll check it out.

In case you're interested, Synth Ryders is like Beat Saber with Synthwave, Techno, and Electro Swing music, where orbs fly towards you and you simply have to place your hands to touch them. The difficulty lies in the fact that sometimes you have to touch them with one hand and sometimes with both hands at the same time, in addition to game modes where you have to “hit” the orbs, not just touch them.

Ragnarock is a Power Metal game in which you set the pace with a Viking rowing boat. The more you play the drums in time with the music, the faster your boat goes. The game also allows you to race against other players.

Maestro is a classical music conductor simulator. Very well done, very fun, the musical repertoire is brutal, and although it may not seem like it, it tires your arms a lot.

Today was a fairly automatic workout day. Since it was a strength day, I guess it says a lot about my progress that I'm able to daydream while I work out and not focus on how hard it is. Hopefully, I'll be able to start doing level 3 workouts when I finish Foundation!

@NightWolf714 Maybe I'll post it here when I finish it.

Interestingly, so far, the Balance workout is by far the hardest for me. My legs tire very easily, especially my right leg. Although that was actually one of the things I wanted to solve with exercise, I get tired when standing. I don't know if it's because I'm not supporting myself properly with my paws or something. I hope it stops happening in a few months.
