Literally, just a place to put some notes. Experimenting again with electronic vs paper log
I used to want to be very detailed. Now, I just want what I've completed and a few notes on progress.

Completed Combat HIIT Lv 1
In Progress 1/2 Marathon

Started Primal Strength Lv 1 - Able to do 3 assisted Pull Ups, and 8 Hanging leg lifts for Day 1

Completed Soma 40+! Probably the most consistent training, other than running, that I've done in awhile. Finished my semester and can once again focus on other things.
Started Core Strength as an add on to Soma about 2 weeks ago. Still working on that obviously.
Haven't picked out my next program yet. Have a couple in mind.

And I lost my 30 minutes for 30 days streak. A little bummed. I was on day 23. Had a plan to get it done even though I was getting injections in my back for herniated discs. Usually I can do easy walking afterwards, or yoga. Nope. I slept on sofa : ) Both legs were completely uncoordinated from the lidocaine. Doesn't happen often, just every now and then. But it was worth it. First good nights sleep in a few months.
Starting back to my 30 min for 30 day challenge, though I'll admit that on Christmas I may lose it again, but I'm prepared that it may happen. We very much just go with the flow that day, which sometimes means pajamas all day.

Finished 1 Minute HIIT and Back & Core a couple of days ago. Took longer than expected, stupid stomach flu plus a trip to Texas.
Dabbling with Code of Abs and Total Body Strength. Might stick with those for the duration but may switch.
Definitely started the program from Born to Run 2
Started my version of Soft 75 challenge on April 8th

Finished Soft 75 Challenge which included low carb diet, drinking 2-3 L of water daily, 45 min of activity daily and limited alcohol (weekends/social). Can't say that I met the goals every day but I did see improvement as the Challenge progressed. By the end, I was having more days strung together as habits formed. That was the goal, more than perfection. I'm planning to do another version, but I'll start after our camping trip this next week.
Did learn that while I would love to get 45 minutes of activity every day, with the work schedule I have, not always possible. Plus, I have an active job. I am in no way sitting down all day. Some days I hit close to 10,000 steps before leaving the clinic. I'm up, down, walk around, on the floor (literally on my belly yesterday for a blood draw) and in various "yoga" poses while handling animals. On work days, I'm going to come up with a better approach to exercise. Getting what I need mentally, and enough to maintain mobility and strength. It is a balancing act.

Have not completed any programs. Started and stalled out a few times on those. Still active most days, and the majority was for 45 minutes. Just did a variety of things.

Started a Soft 75 Challenge on July 7th.

Goals are daily Low Carb, Read 10 pages of something, very limited alcohol(weekends/social and minimal then), and 10 minutes yoga (minimum). Extra Credits for WOD and Abs workouts.
I realized doing a program stressed me out. I got frustrated when I had days that I couldn't do them bc of time constraints or energy level. I put too much pressure on myself to complete programs and at a certain level. While at the same time, trying to increase my run mileage. Which means, a few days a week, I'm out running for a minimum of an hour, sometimes two or more. That really doesn't leave me much time for a workout, which is why I was getting frustrated with doing Programs. I LOVE badges and LOVE earning them, but
it wasn't working so I needed to take a step back and look at things.

I re-evaluated my goals and what I know makes my mind and body feel better. Running and yoga. I have to do those 2 things. Gotta run for the brain, gotta do the yoga for back and legs otherwise things hurt too much. I also gotta do Core training bc of herniated discs. Back needs support.
So, here I am with the current goals for the next 75 days.

I saw improvements with all the previous goals. Wanted to keep those rolling to better instill them as habits. The 2-3 L of water was an easy habit to establish so I didn't feel like I need to track that any more.

Completed the 2 min Abs program - not in 30 days but that wasn't the goal.
On Aug. 1st started the Code of Abs Program and the Lower Body Challenge. Was able to keep up with both those things pretty well...then I had to pivot :)

Torn meniscus, not a small tear that could be managed with PT. Arthroscopy 2 days ago. Mostly sitting on my bum with leg propped at this point.
Plan to do the Recovery Program, in fact already doing it. I can box breathe right where I am. :) I will have to modify some things but it gives me a focus and keeps me engaged until I can get to doing more. Luckily, I already have PT scheduled for the day after my recheck appointment.
Annoyed at the current situation but also glad that it's a fairly easy fix as far as knee things go.

Thanks for the well wishes and support!
Tried the Recovery program for a few days. Was able to do more than I thought I'd be able to, with the blessing of the PT, so started LIIT. Have to modify a little but not much. It's a start :) That should take me through to where I'll be able to slowly start running again. At least this happened when the cool weather has started some days so when I do run, it will be perfect temps.
