Maybe you know the series "The next Generation"? If not, or only briefly, let my explain a bit more about "Ten Forward" and the "why" of choosing it.

There is a place on that marvelous ship Enterprise called "Ten Forward". It is run by Guinan played by Whoopie Goldberg:

But it was more than a bar.

You go there, for example after your working shift, for recreation, to calm down, enjoy a drink, good food, music, the view of endless space, read a book, exchange on various topics with others, fuel up energy alone or in company, etc.

Long story short: it was the life-hub of social activity on the ship, but without the well known pressure for the individuals we sometimes know and experience from social gatherings nowadays. Everyone was welcomed there and respected, no exception!

And since it was located on Deck 10 in the forward section 1, well, you now know why it is called Ten Forward.

I liked the idea what "Ten Forward" represents, and I wanted to capture that feeling for me, a place I like to return to after work, my workouts, good and shitty days, sometimes alone, sometimes with others, sharing or not sharing, talking or just keeping silent, beeing there for me or for others when needed, sometimes more, sometimes less, etc.

There is still more to Ten Forward than meets the eye and what I tried to describe above, since its not only a "thing" but also an "idea" and "belief". It is also work in progress.

In the old Hive I also quoted Thomas Riker in my first post of "Ten Forward", and since a new year started it somehow still fits in more ways than one, well, that quote fits to many things to be honest, so, lets finish with the immortal words of Thomas Riker:

New or old, at least for me is no hindrance, I see each individually, every series and movies has its pros and cons, it all depends on the person, the mood, the time, what we are looking for in that moment and the best thing is, its always changeable. Therefore I also include the new ones too. Still need to watch Stange New Worlds, though, but Paramount+ only started a month ago in germany, therefore its still on my to watch list, also I spoilered myself quite a lot already.

I can understand why you like Lower Decks, it is really fun to watch, I like the art and their kind of humour they put into that series, marvelous, so far I watched it two times already and I always want more of it.
