I am one day away from starting again. My thirty first Hebrew birthday is tonight and tomorrow (Hebrew days start at nightfall), and I would very much like it to coincide with my Darebee-versary every year.

I’ve decided to start a new thread to mark each and every new beginning. My last streak lasted two months shy of a year. I’ve reset my streak badge back to zero. This time I have my eyes on making it past two years.

I’ve grown. I always do. I learned that I am capable of more than I ever realized. I can keep streaks going long term. I can tend to my health, mental and physical. I can cut ties that are no longer healthy, keep friends even when it hurts, and earn new friends more easily than I once believed.

I’ve accepted apologies from people who badly hurt me. I’ve learned forgiveness offers healing. I’ve offered apologies to people I hurt without cause. I’ve learned regret offers a chance to rise above and do better. I’ve learned to offer vulnerability in place of anger. I’ve learned to offer honesty without hurt. I’ve learned to offer myself to the world without losing something in me each time I give.

I’m going to spend the next streak growing in the gardens of Themyscira, and everyone is welcome in my gardens any time. My real name means Rose Rose, so gardens call my heart into bloom like nowhere else does. I know what it feels like to grow through pain, and I want other people to grow through the peace and strength and love they find in me.

Thank you to everyone who’s been with me so far, since the beginning, in the middle, or towards the end of my last streak. I could not have made it this far without all the support and community Darebee offers. I love the programs and enjoy the challenges but it’s the community I’ve found here that keeps me coming back each and every day. I follow as many logs as I can as often as I can (I do fall behind a lot, but I try!).

I can’t wait to see what the coming year of my life brings, and I can’t wait to share the journey with you all.

I just did the first day of 30 days of cardio light. I wanted to get right back into the things and pick up where I'd left off, but I was dead exhausted and I figured starting slow would be better than not starting at all. So that's all I got done for now.

On day #22 of my brand new streak.

Update: Still mostly hanging out on discord in my free time. I made like a whole bunch of new friends. It's a whole crazy story I can't recount because of privacy reasons, but I joined a brand new server with the wildest backstory I've ever heard in my entire life. I got upgraded to mod and then admin within weeks, plus I'm a super likeable person people generally like to talk to about whatever. So slowly over the course of a month I got the entire story, plus accidental proof that it's true. I'm just rambling now for no reason, but it's nice to meet a whole bunch of new friends all at once because I haven't really made a new friend in the past few years. But of course a handful of people in the server are wildly toxic, so I end up throwing myself into the chaos to try to protect my new friends and everybody ends up either liking me tremendously, or tripping over me, or both.

And everyone who hears all this is like "but why not just leave if it's toxic?"

And I'm like BECAUSE THEY ARE MY FRIENDS. You don't just walk away from people and not befriend them because a toxic person is tagging along. I don't know. Do you? I don't.

Anyway, I lowkey enjoy getting in the way and proving just how effective/annoying I can be.

Oh, I get this. Just because there are parts of it that are toxic, that doesn't mean you want to toss the whole thing out. It's kinda like a potato when there's a spot on it, you can just cut that part and eat the potato a lot of times. So long as you develop good boundaries to protect your mental/emotional energy.

I'm glad you've been making new friends. I love that discord is such a good way to connect with people. Sorry it's got it's toxic folks, but hopefully they'll get the message that it's not really the best place for them. >_>;;;

Update: the toxic, chaotic guy left the server a few days ago. I immediately DMed him, panicking and near tears that I'd miss him and his girlfriend. He reassured me I could reach out whenever and made a group chat for me to stay in touch with him and his girlfriend. A few days later he rejoined the server. I genuinely can't even remember what my life felt like before he came along and complicated it.

Life be so weird sometimes. But I'm glad I stayed and gave everyone in this server a chance despite my initial impressions. Not everyone is who they appear to be on the surface.

Update:

Here's the epilogue to the whole discord drama. I asked the server owner if she'd want to set up a new server with me, and she agreed. While we were setting it up, I wrote a list of rules specifically designed to keep out the bullying and drama that exhausted me in the OG server. I invited all of my discord friends, and all but one agreed to join, including folks from the OG server. Less than a week in the OG server owner and I decided to formally make the two servers sister servers, anyone in one is welcome in the other, so long as they follow the rules. I wasn't expecting my server to take off, I thought it would be dead, but it's actually The New Happening Place to Be! I never thought I'd run a discord server, but I'm doing it under the best of all possible circumstances: alongside family and friends.

The Chaos Guy responsible for the chaos and drama knows about the new server (I told him all about it), knows full well that the rules are designed to keep him from doing what he does, and is just chill with sitting it out. I'm still friends with him, and friends with almost everyone I've met in the past couple months, since this whole drama started.

Now we have a Chaos Server and a Kind and Calm Server peacefully coexisting and it's lovely, they balance each other out perfectly.

I'd call this a pretty happy ending.

Update: still feeling a lot better, more alert and less tired. I don't really have anything super interesting to report on, other than I attempted a level three workout (90 days of action) for the first time in a while, and it actually went really well.

I'm debating picking up the new RPG program next, but I'm not sure if it would be "cheating" for my first level three RPG to be the most recent one instead of doing the older programs first. Anyway, I won't have to decide for several months at least, it'll be a while before I finish 90 days of action, I have over two months left and I do not do it every day.

Again, not terribly much to report back on. I finished ten days in a row of meditating, which for me is huge progress as formerly I could barely make a week, I'm just past day forty of a fitness streak, I've been continuing to cook healthy and filling meals every day - I even got the ingredients together for daily lunch salads, instead of foraging in the snack pantry every afternoon - which means I'm doing a lot better than I was a couple of weeks ago.

I got my doctor to increase one of my medications, and I think that has been making a massive, huge, ginormous difference in how I've been feeling. It really does feel like the difference between taking your glasses off and putting them back on again - like the world has come back into calmer, clearer, sharper focus (as the old analogy goes).

I played ringfit adventure for the first time in months. It's only like twenty minutes a go, but taking out the switch, setting up, etc is a bit of a barrier for me. (As opposed to darebee workouts which are pretty much readysetloadandgo.) It was a bit challenging but I successfully passed the level I was up to, which means I've been pretty good at keeping up my overall fitness even though I haven't played the game in a good while.

Been struggling with depression over the past few weeks. I just haven't been feeling myself, I've been experiencing a lot of anxiety over small but significant life changes. I lost my streak during a couple bad days. I sorted my head out, picked myself up out of the dust, and started over.

I have a new goal to journal here every single day, even if it's just something small. Small steps climb mountains.

I'm going on vacation for a month in a couple weeks. I have a goal of completing two challenges and one program before leaving.

I spoke to my siblings who will be hosting me over my vacation (I'm going for my sister's wedding), and mentioned I've been working out every day, so I'd be doing workouts while I stayed over. They were very encouraging.

Forgot to journal yesterday. I went to the dentist and to the optometrist, I picked out new glasses, I got cute funky purple ones.

Depression is starting to ease up, which is nice. Not all gone yet, but I just feel... better, and more like myself.

Started going through other logs again. Nothing intense, just trying to read between five and ten every day for now.
