I tried to run slowly and it was mentally hard not to fall back to ny usual cadence of 160. In the end I ran much further with 140, than I planned. I also tried to be more active in my back chain. I felt pretty good, so I think that will be a regular thing.

huh, may I ask why do you try to lower your cadence instead of stride length? a high one is perfectly healthy and efficient!
No problem, the reason is, I can control the cadence with music. I tried shorter steps, but it doesn't work out for me. After some time they get longer again and I get too fast. And the muscle activation/coordination feels better in a slow cadence, because I can use the full range of motion. My experience is, that I can/do not use my glutes and back, when the stride length is to short.

okay there's a bit of thought behind it and as long as you don't have to fight with fatigue, go for it!

if you do have or develop issues with it, overstriding puts more impact through your legs and diminishes running economy. So maybe something to watch out for.

Got called psycho from a friend since I'm a big advocate of listening to the feet tapping the ground and the laboured breathing in order to be "in tune" while running, but in the end whats best is what gets you moving and makes you better :)

I am definitely less fatigued than with a higher frequency. I guess I'm "buying my time" by lengthening my stride to the back not to the front, so I can still setting my foot flat and more or less under me. I have to admit, that 140 was a the playlist setting, but in the end it was more like 140 - 150. I skipped a few songs, cause they were to slow. So I might go with a 150 playlist next time.1000012478.jpg

150bpm playlist led to an average cadence of 153. It was a more intense than last week. My heart ran 50% in zone 2 and 50% in zone 3.
Next time I'll try a 145bpm playlist.

Congratulations on completing Yoga Camp and on 5 weeks in a row of Hurt me plenty! (Is there a post somewhere that explains your target system?)

Targets System:
I came up with a gamification of my daily routine tracking, that could help my accountability and, in the same time, gives me enough slack:

Every week I have the possibility to hit 35 targets per week. A given amount of 'em is mandatory to complete the week on a certain difficulty level. The rest can be saved to complete upcoming weeks.
Unused targets can be traded in for the next difficultly or the otherway around, if I am 20 targets short, I will be pushed back to the previous difficulty.

Difficulties:
I'm too young to die - mandatory targets: 15
Hey, not too rough - mandatory targets: 20
Hurt me plenty – mandatory targets: 25
Ultra-Violence - mandatory targets: 30
Nightmare! - mandatory targets: 33
