Hey all

Hi all,

Long time since been round these parts.

First off how is everyone doing?
What you been up too and had life been treating you well?

I am looking too get back in to a little bit of training but needs to be light as I am looking at doing my NLPQ ether February or August next year, my current job is taking it out of me massively as really burnt out and the stress levels are mad been practically running the branch I work in, gone through 3 managers in the past 6 months and also had a couple bad staff that did not even pass their probation.

Now that I have turned 40, I realised that I am not the same person I was 10 years ago when I started my job, and the stress and pressure is changing me as a person and it's affecting my home life especially as my youngest has been diagnosed with autism, possibly ADHD, dyspraxia and a few other nurodivergant issues.

Love to you all
Andy

Welcome back, life is sometimes hard but a bit of exercice is good to relieve stress, hang on!

I got a basic idea as I need a bit of shoulder strength, and also I need to build leg strength I do walk up and down a hill 4 times a day going to work, walking down for lunch back up after lunch then home time so that just needs a bit more to it, my swimming fitness is the one thing that I am concerned about but only need this too get me past my NLPQ.

Swim 50m at a strong pace (not officially timed, but expected to be confident and efficient)
Swim 100m continuously without stopping
Swim confidently in deep water
Maintain a steady breathing rhythm
Show controlled front crawl, breaststroke, and sidestroke
Tread water for 30 seconds
Float on front and back
Show calm recovery after effort
Demonstrate safe entries into the pool (slide‑in, compact jump, etc.)
Perform a surface dive to the bottom of the pool
Retrieve a manikin from the deepest part of the pool
Bring the manikin to the surface safely
Tow the manikin to the poolside

I remember, when I was young (older teen probably) and we had to try these exercises, diving, getting the mannequin torso by the underarms, but then being unable to lift it from the pool's ground, LOL.

Hey everyone,

Can't believe that my training starts next week for the Feb or August deadlines for the NPLQ,

Only felt like I was planning this not long ago and now it is literally on top of me.
