The bell rings when it likes

A pedlar passing through Dunmere

Stopped in Dunmere on my way east and nobody in the town has slept. There was a storm off the hills two nights back and now the bell in the old tower rings whenever the wind blows, which in Dunmere is always.

The tower looks fine to me. Then you stand next to the chapel and look again and it does not look fine at all. It leans. The stonemason stood underneath it chewing his hat and said nothing for a very long time.

They are writing to the guild. I would bring strong legs.
Heard on the road, A pedlar with ringing ears
