What's New at DAREBEE - the Thunder Edition
Halloween week. We fought monsters, we finished a program, we made it rain indoors. Here is everything that changed since last Sunday.
Full Contact is out
Our new level 3 combat program: Full Contact. Fists, elbows, knees and feet across three ranges, 30 days, no equipment. Week one is kicks, week two is punches, week three is close range, week four chains all of it and day 30 is the title fight. It sits between First Strike and Fireheart, so if you finished First Strike and wondered what comes next, this is what comes next.
Every program now has how-to videos
Last week we said we were rolling them out program by program. Done. Tap any exercise on any program day and a short video shows you how it goes. The only exceptions are the stretching and yoga programs, because the library doesn't have those poses yet (that one is on the list). Oh, and the Age of Pandora - special case, as usual.

- Thunder Challenge is November's challenge and it is a little bit silly in the best way. You tap a button, it starts to rain and you do jumping jacks for as long as the rain lasts. Thunder cracks at random and every clap is one jumping jack extra. Birds chirping means a short break. One to five minutes a day, low impact version with step jacks, sound can be switched off if the thunder scares the cat. Go get rained on.
- The site got faster. Nothing to see, just less waiting. Pages load in fewer pieces, images load in the right order and your browser hangs on to them longer. If something looks odd after the change a hard refresh fixes it.
- New workouts: Dread Knight, Loose Ends, Mostly Intact and Low Bar. Three out of four are easy days. We know. We were tired too.
The Hive
- Haunted Hive closes today. Thank you to everyone who punched, squatted and swore at the screen. This was the first event on the new engine: the creature takes hits in real time, the stage posts land on their own and the fallen ones stay in the grid with a Defeated stamp, so you can admire your work.
- Event Record and Event Archive. Every member now has an Event Record (linked from your profile under Special Badges) that shows each event in its own terms: Hive stages, Snowfight throws, the ornament you hung, the side you picked in Battleground. The Event Archive goes back to 2022, so the old wars are not forgotten.
- Hive calendar. One page with every upcoming quest, bounty and event, dates and days of the week included: community.darebee.com/pages/hive-calendar/. Whatever is on right now gets a red LIVE tag. No more wandering over on a Saturday to find the quest board empty.
- Clubs: "Your record" on every club page now lists your own check-ins for the last 90 days, day by day. Someone asked. It was a good ask.
- Profiles: Edit Profile has a new Display tab. You can hide Clubs, club badges, special badges or any single event badge from your profile if you'd rather keep things tidy. Everything shows by default.
