Question regarding Total Body

Hi everyone :)

Recently, I wanted to start the Total Body program. It seems to be perfect for me because it has a bit of everything and is labeled as difficulty three. When doing workouts, I am doing difficulty 5 workouts for yoga and difficulty 3 for everything else.

But when I started Total Body day one, I couldn't finish the workout. The reps seemed way too high for me and there are no levels for day one, so no option of doing only part of the workout. I am able to do other strength-based full body workouts like "Brat" or "Pilot" with all 5 sets and e.c., but can't finish day one of Total Body… I'm wondering why day one seems so hard to me. Is it okay if I do only three instead of five sets and continue with the next days or should I abandon Total Body until I'm strong enough to do day 1 properly?

I see nothing wrong with doing 3 sets instead of 5 or reducing the reps to make the workout work better for you.
A workout can be more or less difficult depending on how difficult those exercises are for us with that number of repetitions.
If you like the program you have chosen and enjoy it I would continue with it, since it is very varied in terms of training there will be days that are more difficult for you than others, do what you can and what is good for you and have fun.

I just looked over the program and it looks that the 'Build' days are quite harder than the rest. I second @Fremen on this: Do what you can without loosing your motivation. If you do the 'Build' days with 3 sets instead of 5 and you finished the program, so what the heck, you did it your way. And you sure will gain from it. Maybe note it in your training diary, if you keep one, so you can compare when you come back to it some day.
All the best!
