"Getting strong enough to keep two tiny humans from unaliving themselves."
Hello hello, we are still under the freezer dome, but surviving. :shiver:

Once I got home last night I was NOT going out to the gym, no thanks. So we ran around and had fun at home. Had a quick supper, tossed both kids through baths, danced a little bit more, then got the kids to bed.

Sadly, while the kids have been doing wonderfully for sleep recently, teething eases off for no child, and poor Biggie was up at 4:30 and Daddy would not suffice, so I have been up since 4:30. Munchie slept in to 6:30, and then we got through morning routine relatively easily, if a bit rushed. :shine:

We had the scale out last night for Munchie, because we're going to start a weekly weigh in for her to make sure she's increasing. The amount her spine and pelvic bones stick out is still concerning. Hubby doesn't often do Munchie's bath so he hasn't seen how bad it is recently, but last night Biggie was not letting me go, so he saw the full picture. She's still eating well, but we're only maybe 2 weeks into that, which doesn't immediately resolve 4 months of not much eating. Hubby's mom was telling him the other day that he should "watch how many snacks you're giving Munchie, you don't want to give her too much..." with implications of Munchie becoming fat. After Hubby saw Munchie's state last night, our current house rule is: if she's hungry, she eats. :watermelon:

I decided this morning to step on the scale. Looking in the mirror I can tell I've lost inches, but wanted to see what the scale said. Still at 178.2 but, as is standard for me, I tone up before I drop pounds. The big thing is how I feel and how my clothes fit, and both are heading in the direction I want, so that's what's most important.

Tonight is going to be frigid again, and Biggie will most likely still have teething pains, so I don't see myself heading to the gym. I will make sure that I endeavour to do some extra exercizes at home with the kids though. Maybe I'll do a plank and have them crawl under me as many times as possible before I have to drop. :flat:

I also recently started Fitness RPG which uses the step tracker that's connected to your phone to give your character XP to level up and continue his quest. So far it's kind of fun, a little tedious with all the different things to level up and the number of ads that come up, but I can over look that for a cute little game. I'm all about fitness games, though sadly a number of apps I used to use seem to have disappeared. If anyone knows of any decent ones for iOS (except Zombies, Run! or The Walk as I already have them) please do let me know. :dancy:

I'm thinking of taking a page from @princess_sarena and having a little RP journal where my character continues through whatever story I'm doing (especially with me enjoying a variety of solo/journal rpgs). I think it would be fun and creative, and I want to get back to sketching a bit too, so could include that with my extended story. :bounce:

Hoo ahh, ok, so the frozen tundra is slowly moving itself back north and we are getting a small reprieve (it's only going to be -12C tonight.. whoot) :shiver:

Looks like the next real chance I have to get back to the gym is Friday as it's still going to feel too cold tonight and Hubby's game night is tomorrow. (I say this with uncertainty, because if it's not too bad I may still go.. it really comes down to how Bedtime With Biggie (BWB) goes). :worry:

Speaking of which, the Biggie teething is continuing. For the most part he's doing ok, playing like normal, being his normal crazy self, he's just more cuddly and more stubborn. He does NOT like his high chair now, it is becoming a struggle to get him into it. If he's decided it's not happening, he just keeps his hips straight and no amount of pushing is getting it done. (This is the kid who at 6 months would not let the doctor bend his hips to do his checkup and she was literally lifting his whole body by his heels.) We are now starting to eat at the dining room table, so that necessitates the higher chair, but this chair converts to work for 2 kids, and we can remove the 'high chair' portion with the tray, and just have him sit in it like a booster seat (hopefully, if he decides that acceptable.) Otherwise, we'll just be eating in two pairs, Munchie and one adult at the dining room table, Biggie and the other adult at the kiddie table in the kitchen. :verysadkitty:

In the mental health part of things, stress goes up and down as always. I'm actually really getting into reading books again. Having a commute is allowing me to listen to audiobooks, and I'm working through ebooks on my phone, slowly but surely. The fun thing right now is that I've joined a few reading challenges on Goodreads, one competitive but with a reasonable expectation of 3 books that count, I have many more but they're books for the kids so they only count for page points. It's a balance between having the challenge be enjoyable, and the stress of getting things finished. I'm part of an advanced reader site, and I'm focusing on kids books to stay on top of release dates, while also enjoying a few adult books. I originally stressed a bit about posting the reviews, especially with branching out on my blog and social media, but then realized I don't need to post the reviews until the week of release, and once I charted that in my calendar I realized it wasn't nearly so much as I thought. :chat:

Between the gym giving me a physical outlet, and reading giving me a mental one (input by reading, output by reviewing), I'm starting to feel a bit more of a balance than I have in a while. I'm able to be Mom at home and also be Me. I may not be crafting so much right now with knitting and sewing, but that can come back when the kids don't need me so much. :approve:
