A bit lost on workout choice

Hello, everyone! I found the Darebee community after watching a video from a channel called "Corkboards & Curiosities" (yes, another TTRPG enthusiast joins the party) and the whole concept is great, I really liked it! Great work from the whole crew involved.

The problem I'm facing is about choosing a workout that fits what I'm used to. I'm not into cardio stuff AT ALL (I do a treadmill HIIT after my workouts solely because it's necessary for my goals: weight loss and body recomposition). I'm way more into lifting weights and I'm stuck in analysis paralysis to choose what to do in the gym (I need to go at least 3x per week because I don't have enough discipline to train at home. When I go, once I realize I'm already there, I must train without excuses... As long as there's no health scare or something similar, of course).

Here's the current workout division I'm using:

DAY 1
  • Chest:
    • Bench press
    • Incline dumbbell press
    • Crossover
    • Pec deck
  • Triceps:
    • Triceps rope extension
    • Overhead triceps extension
    • Overhead Single-Arm Dumbbell Tricep Extension
    • Closed grip bench press
  • Shoulders pt. 1:
    • Overhead press
    • Lateral raise
    • Front raise
DAY 2 (leg day — my favorite)
  • Squat
  • 45º leg press
  • Bulgarian split squat with dumbbells
  • Leg raise
  • Leg curl
  • Hip abduction
  • Barbell pelvic thrust
  • Stiff leg deadlift
  • Standing calf raise on machine
  • Horizontal leg press calf raise
  • Seated calf raise
DAY 3
  • Back:
    • Pull-down
    • Single arm dumbbell row
    • Bent over barbell row
    • Reverse pec deck
    • Back extension
  • Biceps:
    • Ez-bar curl
    • Preacher curl
    • Incline dumbbell curl
  • Forearms:
    • Reverse grip barbell wrist curl
    • Barbell wrist curl
  • Shoulders pt 2:
    • Barbell upright row
    • Dumbbell shrugs
Aaaaaaaaaand that's it. Any help to choose a path that has a similar idea is more than appreciated. Thank you so much in advance and I hope to interact way more in the near future, as well as be the one helping once I have a little more knowledge and experience!

P.S.: self-imposed obligation of saying "sorry for my bad english" due to not being a native speaker, which makes me insecure about it.

Hero's Journey was the first program I did here on DB. It's a really fun fitness rpg. Around day 3 of the program it lets you pick a "weapon" and one of them, the hammer, gives you free-weight exercises to do. Hope this helps, and good luck on your path!

Hello and Welcome!! Darebee is amazing and I hope you have fun while you're here! I second the recommendation for Hero's Journey. It's a really fun and challenging program and I think it would align with your goals. I haven't completed it yet myself, but I've come pretty close, and I got a lot out of it despite not finishing it.

I also recommend poking around and trying out anything that sounds remotely interesting to you. Between all the challenges, programs, workouts, and plans on this site, you're bound to find something that fits you perfectly. The collections and guides are also extremely handy.

Good luck, and have fun!

Hello and welcome to the hive!

I'm not sure I can give advice, to be honest. I did a chaotic approach and just jumped in. I heard about the RPG fitness programs and that's what got me in here, so I just picked the easiest one I could to try. For me, that was Zero Hero but I think that Hero's Journey might be a better fit for your fitness levels. I only got part way through it because I realized I was not at the level to do the push-ups and such required. But it's a pretty fun workout. And the story line helped keep me engaged with it and wanting to see what happens next.
