Best programm to lose weight and fat

Hi
What is the best programme to lose weight and fat? I want to reduce 20kg before gaining any more muscles. I am thinking to gain strength later when I reach my desired weight. I am currently 100kg and want to go down to 84-80kg. My height is 174cm

Hi there and welcome!

Unfortunately, there isn't really a best workout for loosing fat. I've heard a saying, "you can't outrun your fork," and there's a lot of truth with it. Exercise mostly just helps extra calories go into muscle instead of fat. It's unfortunately mostly a numbers game with calories. :C

That said, exercise can help. One, it helps reduce stress which can trigger more fat buildup. But also, cardio is one of the best calorie burning exercises. Even just walking a bit every day can help plus it has great health benefits. My main workout use to be jogging in place while putting on a show to watch. :)

Darebee has some great guides. Here's one I'd recommend: How to Lose Weight

Losing body fat is 85% (or more) about diet alone.
Building muscle mass is about having enough proteins + strength training.

Tweaking both is a hormonal game (insulin spikes + rests)

I just started training again - I like Foundation for a 30 day complete body check up/warm up for harder exercises later on. This is my 3rd time doing it (coming back after 5 years to this site!)

edit: I forgot to add that I agree with the approach to first lose weight and then work on muscle. Some people can do both at once, but if you are new to this and don't have a support system in place, the numerous changes may be overwhelming and stressful to you and your body depending how quickly and how hard you go at it. Go with what you can sustain on the mid to long run.

I myself started with a diet, then with walks in addition to the diet and then later i added workouts.
But i had to lose quite a bit more than just a few pounds. So not to kill my joints i refrained from doing walks or other exercises until i dropped below a certain weight.
