Bumble Beginnings
I figured I would start posting what workouts I do each week from now.
My plan for now is to just do random hard (no equipment) strength workouts, alternating between upper-body, core and lower-body workouts.
Monday 12th January: Runner Strength
This one was tough. I split the 3 sets of 10 push-ups into 1 set of 10 push-ups and 4 sets of 5 push-ups. I still find push-ups difficult so after 1 set I am already all out of juice.
Tuesday 13th January: Level III Mean Abs
Wednesday 14th January: Level III Quadzilla
This one was brutal. My legs are still very sore from it.
Thursday 15th January: Level III Swimmer
This one was pretty fun. I liked the windshield wipers and despite their difficulty, the diver push-ups were novel.
Friday 16th January: Level III Iron Core
This was not too demanding. The plank at the end engaged more shoulders than core, which was not what I was hoping for.
Saturday 17th January: Level III Outlander
This was very difficult. I had to make a lot of compromises. I halved the number of push-up-related exercises I had to do, did shallower push-ups when it was getting difficult for me, and I did the final 3 sets a few hours after the first 4. For some reason, push-ups engage my shoulders and triceps a lot, but engage my chest a little, perhaps someone could explain why this is the case. Nevertheless, I powered through and managed to complete Level III.
One thing I am working on improving is making sure I follow the rest times properly and do not rest for, say, 5 minutes during my workout.[/workout][/workout]
