Sleep

Sleep Score: 81 (good)

✓ no liquids after 6 pm ✓ earplugs ✓ mask ✓ walking 90 minutes before bed ✓ in bed by 10 pm

Awake: 6:10 am, Up: 6:10 am

I had a weird night. I fell asleep almost right away after listening to an audiobook for 30 minutes. Then I woke up at 3 am right in the middle of a dream. The same happened again at 4 am and then at 4:40. I forced myself to go back to sleep after that again (my sleep score was 70 at this point). :night: I slept in and woke up at 6:10. Aaaand my score went up to 81. I am guessing those were cortisol spikes or some other hormonal fluctuations. I felt fully rested all day so whatever it was, it didn't affect me too much. Because I slept in, my morning routine went out of the window of course :bored:

Speaking of audiobooks. I assumed it was a bad thing to listen to them at night but then I heard it actually calms your mind. So long as it's not something super exciting :whaa: I find this to be true for myself. My mind is still pretty noisy around 10 pm. I think of work, things I need to do tomorrow etc. An audiobook takes my mind off things and helps me drift off. I do set a timer with a definite cut off point these days  In the past, I came across a few books that kept me up ALL NIGHT. I can't afford to do that anymore :scroll: sooo... no screens after 9:30 pm BUT I can listen to an audiobook for 30 minutes. It's been working for me so far

The Day

Another good day!
I worked pretty much non-stop but it was still good. I actually enjoy busy days because I feel I am moving the needle forward, especially when it comes to DAREBEE. I also sorted a lot of things out today in my personal life, streamlined some things, donated 1/3 of my, already tiny, wardrobe etc. I figured, I wear sports clothes all day anyway. Plus, it cuts back on laundry :massage:

On the food front, I screwed up my micros today and then had to play alchemist in Cronometer for 30 minutes :glee: Some things could not be fixed (I had too much Iron today) because I already had lunch at this point but I worked it out in the end. Eventually, I managed to fit into my macros and get all of the vitamins and minerals for the day up, or over, 100%. I usually check before I make lunch but I got side-tracked by work :tap:

All and all, it was a nice, productive day. I haven't finished all of my tasks for today, unfortunately, so I'll have to get back to them tomorrow with fresh energy. I also have new recipes pilling up for DAREBEETS that I still need to render and add :hop:

What went well today: I had an hour of a deep tissue massage (a gift) :hophop:

How I felt today: productive, fulfilled

....aaah my battery is about to run out!!!

Have a wonderful rest of Monday, everyone! See you tomorrow!
Long Live The Hive! :unicorn: And thank you for stopping by :morelove:

Sleep

Sleep Score: 65 (fair) :corner:

✓ no liquids after 6 pm ✓ earplugs ✓ mask ✓ walking 90 minutes before bed

Awake: 6:00 am, Up: 6:05 am

... agh, the same story as yesterday. I kept waking up every hour! Something somewhere went terribly wrong and I ended up tragically short of sleep today. Oh well... It was still a good day :tailwiggle: even though I struggled through  I'll see what happens tonight and then I'll be able to troubleshoot.

The Day

What went well today
: I got my hair braided until Friday!
How I felt today: tired but in good spirit
Yep, I struggled today... BUT, I didn't take it out on anyone which is a win! I actually felt positive overall :yaz: Everything I did today just took extra effort and extra concentration. Thankfully, I didn't have big goals for today so I manage to get through my day without any issues. It was basically a steady grind and I am glad it's pretty much over :flat:

I tried some new recipes today with various degrees of success. I have some absolutely disgusting rice protein powder I need to use up. I figured if I cooked it, just like with rice flour, I could get rid of the chalk taste. It worked almost perfectly. I made some protein bars just like the ones we have at DAREBEETS but I cooked everything over low heat before adding oats. Then I baked the bars for 15 minutes in the oven. I think they tasted delicious because they had nuts in them :sweetcheeks: doesn't matter, will eat!

The buckwheat buns I made for lunch were horrible and so were the black bean patties. The buns were too moist, the patties were too dry. And no, they didn't balance each other out :waitno: even the mashed avocado didn't save it. I'll be trying this again tomorrow because I feel like there is potential there to be absolutely delicious.

I finished the Onyx Storm last night. What a waste of a book. The plot was identical to the book before and NOTHING HAPPENED the whole time. I don't think I'll be getting the next book in the series. Until Dungeon Crawler Carl, Book 7 comes out in a week, I'll probably pick up Where Did You Go? by Jeneane O'Riley. I have very low expectations. For a bed time story, it just needs to be ok :deepsleep:

I am still walking for 90 minutes every evening. I am going to give it another week and see what happens. I am curious about this Friday's weigh in. I feel a lot trimmer these days but I need the actual data :butt: Everything else is progressing nicely. I am tracking my micros and macros and I am doing a pretty good job there! Except for my birthday feast, I've been really good when it comes to my food choices. The best thing: NO CRAVINGS. And I don't even get very hungry. Except for that one time when I was dehydrated, I've felt well fed and comfortable throughout this whole experience. My main goal right now is to stick to my Calorie budget and my macros and NOT EAT LESS. When you begin to see progress, it's a common mistake to make. You want to do more, restrict more, push harder - that's when you fall off the wagon. If I end up eating less, I see how I feel and what else can I add to make sure I am not undereating - or overtraining. It's a delicate balance.

So far so good :yaz: but I'll have to keep checking in with this journal, and myself.

That's it for today.
Have a wonderful rest of Tuesday, everyone! See you tomorrow!
