Classic me, I am really good at loosing track of keeping track!

I have been maintaining a Push/Pull/Legs/Misc split at the local gym and have been maintaining some steady (but very slow) weightloss.
I'm 5'3"ish and started my 'journey' at around 220lbs. I'm now around 160ish, and I'm hoping to get somewhere around 140-150 as a goal.

When the semester is over I'm going to be working on adding in more workouts in addition to the gym, I've really been missing them and have a ton of challenges and programs I want to try. I'm thinking of picking one program and a challenge or two to tackle over break.

:scroll:

I just hit 150lbs, and have moved my goal weight down to around 130.
I'm still doing weight training at the gym 3-4 days a week. My weight hasn't changed a lot but my body has very seriously re- compositioned itself. I have some muscles now! Like, real muscles! It's absolutely insane and flabbergasting.

My schedule is about to get out of whack because of the holidays so I need to build an at-home routine. I figure what better time to come back and grab workouts from here for my at-home era over the next few months. I'm really excited, I've missed doing these exercises but after transitioning to going to the gym exclusively to work out I just don't have the time/energy to do the workouts. Ideally, after these next few months, I'd like to successfully incorporate my gym and at-home routines. I think I could make something nice that compliments my weight training. I'm at around two years of consistently going to the gym and so I feel solid enough to start messing with/adding stuff to the routine to make it better.

I'm having a great time catching up on everyone's threads. It will definitely take me a while. :)

Training is still going well. Seeing some real progress and it's inspiring me to push even further.

I've started running again. I'm aiming for 5ish miles a week cumulative. Once I have a few weeks at 5, I'll push it up to around 7, hold for a few weeks, and then keep gradually increasing in distance that way. I've been really into ultramarathon videos on YouTube lately and I would love to be able to do one. I think for now I need to work on doing a 5k (haven't done one since like... 2017....) and then work my way through the races. In the past on the old hive I went through two couch to 5k programs (Zombies Run, 5K and another one I forget the name of) but I don't think I will this time. I am using the Zombies, Run! app (the non-5K training side) and I just finished Season 1. I have a set of races I can do (2 5ks, 2 10ks, and 2 20ks) that I could do before starting Season 2, but I think I will just start Season 2. I like to do the races outside and we're having an extremely miserable heatwave with super high humidity. I'll do them whenever the weather is no longer hostile.

I'm about 10 chapters into Spellbound and I'm really enjoying it. I really want to make my way through the RPG programs and am trying to decide which to do next. I think soon I'll be ready to tackle Hero's Journey again and hopefully finish it this time. I would also like to finish Zero Hero at some point and may finish that one next.

My yoga is very unstructured but I do it daily-ish.

I have no idea what my workout streak is, I just know that it's at least a few weeks. I still go to Planet Fitness for a push/pull/leg/misc split and on days that I don't go I do random workouts from here or go do my runs.

I've also learned very recently that I don't actually go far enough down for my pushups and I haven't been doing full pushups at all. I am very very very close, though! I'm working on extremely controlled negatives all the way to the floor and am hoping to get a real Honest to God pushup in very soon. I almost got it last night. My arms are so short that to get the full pushup in I basically need to be laying on the floor at the bottom. So, I rescind all of those pushups I logged previously as they were all partials. :P

As for weight, the scale says that I'm gaining but my other measurements are going down still and I'm seeing more muscle definition so I'm probably going to stop weighing myself at this point for a while.

I hope everyone is well. Even when I'm not posting I try to keep up on reading the check-in threads as they keep me motivated and inspired to keep going.

Well, I got sick this week and broke my streak. Perfect time to actually keep track of it now.

Yesterday: Streak Day 1
ran 2 miles/3.2 km and it took me 30 minutes
Spellbound RPG program chapters 16 and 17

absolutely loving Spellbound and it's re-sparking my love for at-home workouts. I'm thinking about using a dice to select my next program when the time comes. Add a little RNG to my RPG fitness. I'm also going to be selecting a few challenges to try out soon.

Good things to come :tuzki-hero:

Streak Day 4

30 Day Challenges

Dead Hang: DAY 3 / 30
1,000 Squats: DAY 3 / 30
Knee Push-Ups: DAY 3 / 30

Running
2.3mile/3.7km in 40 min
Treadmill at Planet Fitness
I started at 3mph/4.8kmh and increased the speed by .1mph/.2kmh every minute until I couldn't run anymore. Then, I just did random on/off running until 40 minutes was up, using various speeds on each running interval. At that point, how fast/slow I was going was completely dependent on what song was playing from my playlist

Program
Spellbound:
Chapter 21 / 31
Attack Spells Charged: Lightning Storm, Earth Rift, Iron Strike
Defense Spells Charged: Deflect, Armor Level I

Streak Day 5

30 Day Challenges

Dead Hang: DAY 4 / 30
1,000 Squats: DAY 4 / 30
Knee Push-Ups: DAY 4 / 30

Program
Spellbound:
Chapter 22 / 31
Didn't fail the roll this time so I didn't need to cast all of my spells, so I still have Lightning Storm charged and ready.
Chapter 23 / 31
Feeling extremely humbled by the pushups in the Super Strength spell. All pushups were adapted to knee-pushups. Did a few extra reps of them to get me further through my quest for my first Real pushup. Between Spellbound and the 30 Day Knee Push-Ups challenge, I'm hoping it'll happen any day now.

Streak Day 7

30 Day Challenges

Dead Hang: DAY 6 / 30
I honestly didn't think I was going to be able to do this. 10 seconds in I was like "there's absolutely no way" but somehow I was still hanging on (barely) when I hit 30 seconds. Hung on for an extra second, though, before I finally slipped off.
1,000 Squats: DAY 6 / 30
Knee Push-Ups: DAY 6 / 30
This one also completely kicked my butt today.
Atlas: DAY 1 / 30
After the satisfaction of the burn from the previous challenges, I decided that since I likely won't get to the gym today, I'll try out a few more challenges. Atlas completely humbled me on normal mode. Wow, feeling the burn for real. We'll see if I can keep this one up.
Power Grip: Day 1 / 30
1,000 Calf-Raises: Day 1 / 30

Program
I may do this later but as of now I didn't leave enough time for it

Non-Workout Dailies
I'm experimenting with incorporating daily quests into my life for further accountability. I used to use a few different Life RPG apps but never stuck with them because I never found a good app. Nowadays, the simplicity of marking things in a journal, sounds do-able and a great way to track progress and accountability. Plus, I miss the days of playing World of Warcraft and logging in to complete my dailies. I'll probably never play again, but I'll get to think back to the good memories of playing when I complete my IRL dailies. I have some hobbies/studies/etc that I've been sort-of steady with but I really want to 'lock-in', so here goes.

Messed with the dialogue system in a small crop farming game I'm making in Godot to better learn the program. I used to use Unity3D back in the day, but for several reasons I stopped. A while ago I decided to pick up game dev again and decided to use Godot because of all of the wonderful things I'd heard about it and the fact that it's open source. I'm loving it so far though some of it has been a little overwhelming.

Streak Day 8

Situations are making getting to the gym while it's open (my PF is not 24/7 :( ) tricky. I wanted to run yesterday or at least today, but the heat and lack of gym-time are probably going to get in the way of that. Especially because some hormone issues are making me extra intolerant to the heat. Oh well.

30 Day Challenges
Dead Hang: DAY 7 / 30
1,000 Squats: DAY 7 / 30
Knee Push-Ups: DAY 7 / 30
Power Grip: Day 2 / 30
1,000 Calf-Raises: Day 2 / 30
Atlas: DAY 2 / 30 normal mode
kicked my butt spectacularly and the noises and faces I had to make to hold was... embarassing. Not giving up on this challenge yet but ouch.

Charged Persuasion, but the Deep Frost charging will need to wait until tomorrow. I'm excited to finally get to encounter this dragon. I'm nervous/excited to be so near the end. I'm hoping I'm up to the tasks ahead. Previously I was doing one or two chapters at a time but I may be splitting the chapters over a few days where necessary. I wish I could remember which day I actually started. Oh well, that's on me for not tracking :P

Streak Day 9

30 Day Challenges

Dead Hang: DAY 8 / 30
Fell off in the last four seconds, got back up and hung for the remaining time and then an extra few seconds. Grip is definitely my weak spot, so I'm hoping the power grip challenge helps.
1,000 Squats: DAY 8 / 30
Knee Push-Ups: DAY 8 / 30
This was nearly impossible today. And by nearly, I mean that I could only hold for three to four seconds at a time. I've been feeling like I've had a debuff on me all day.
Power Grip: Day 3 / 30
1,000 Calf-Raises: Day 3 / 30
Atlas: DAY 3 / 30 normal mode
How this challenge is rated as easy is beyond me. It's one of the toughest things I've done. I'm going to keep doing it for the time being, but wow. Keeping my hips from rotating inward and collapsing that way is my weak spot, for sure. I hoping that since this one is such a struggle, the payoff will be good.

Program
I can't bring myself to do shoulder-taps right now (I don't know why but they're on of my least favorite things to do. For some reason I can't breathe and can't help but hold my breath during them which makes them even harder, I need to work on that :p )
I may charge the spell sometime later but I'm not making any promises. If I don't, I'm going to set the spell as a first-thing to do tomorrow so I can get it out of the way.

Feeling like pushing through this and doing this. Uuuuuugh. Did two sets going slow and breathing carefully during the shoulder taps. Will continue to edit based on what all happens.

Chapter 25 / 31 (FINISHED)
Finally having Deep Frost charged I am able to move into the cave, finally. Unfortunately, my roll failed and so the dragon was not persuaded to give up their scales. It's a good thing I had Deep Frost charged, because I needed it to escape the dragons breath with the scales. Ooof. Unfortunately... outside the cave, a surprise was waiting for me
Chapter 26 / 31
Unfortuantely, there was nothing I could do to stop the bandits and so I need to charge and cast Tracking. Meditation was done in shavasana.
Chapter 27 / 31
Charged and successfully casted Silent Step and didn't need to cast an attack spell. Had to modify the reverse lunges because my right quad for some reason always hurts when doing reverse lung/split squat/lung and from what I've gathered it's because I accidentally push off too much with my back leg when doing that side, and so for that side I hold a chair and don't let my back leg actually touch the ground.
Chapter 28 / 31 (started)
Wow. This chapter has a lot... I am going to need: Healing Spell Level I, two defense spells, three attack spells, and finally... Dragon Armor Spell. I am basically completely depleted of spells so I am going to need to charge... a lot of spells. I kind of want to roll the dice to see which attack/defense spells to charge. I may be in this chapter for a while. Besides the healing spell, the rest will definitely have to wait until tomorrow.

More destruction and disappointment and frustration. Been having really rough mental health issues ( which is also most of the reason that I'm intensifying my workout regimine again, to try to regain some sanity) which is making creativity/building really a challenge. I have had this book on hold on Libby for over 25 weeks! I'm so excited to finally get it. I wanted the audio book because I heard really great reviews for it, but my library only had the Kindle eBook option. I'm so so so so so so so excited for this one. I loved The Martian and have really enjoyed Weir's other writings throughout the years. The hype is real. Another reason I'm excited to finally get it is that I've heard the movie trailer contains big spoilers. I've been careful to avoid spoilers so far and am hoping to continue to avoid them until I finish the book! I'm EXCELLENT at accientally getting spoiled for books that I am just about to read, so I'm being extra cautious.

Saw that your from GA and had to check out your log, haha. I grew up in south east GA so it's always nice to see another from that state.

Looks like you're making great progress!
I've been here in GA for around a year and I'm.... melting, it's taking a lot of getting used to. Before that it was Alaska and before that it was the Midwest. This southern heat is a whole new ball game. If you have any tips or tricks I'd love to hear them

Oh yeah, the humidity definitely takes a toll on you. GA makes you feel like you're swimming when you walk some days, haha. I mostly just tried to time my outdoor time to early mornings or late evenings. But I swear it's gotten so much worse than when I was a kid. I visited my hometown the other week and oof, that heat!

I can at least help with bugs if you're struggling with the mosquitoes. Olive Miracle spray is amazing. It's a hair product but works great as a bug spray and smells a million times better. (Actually, any of the olive oil hair spray things would probably work. Last time I had to get a different brand because it was what I could find.)

Streak Day 11
Heat is absolutely suffocating today, even though it's not quite as hot as it's been. I think it's wearing me down more and more every day. Fall and Winter can't come soon enough. Probably a light day, but we'll see where it goes. I really want to do my Planet Fitness routines. I may try to go in the middle of the night, so it's a nicer temperature and so that the gym is empty.

Currently Charged from Previous Days:
Healing Spell Level I, Dragon Armor Spell
Dome
Iron Strike

Charged Today:
Lightnight Storm, swapping pushups to knee-pushups
Deflect, swapped half-jacks to half-step-jacks for the downstairs dwellers
Earth Rift, swapped jacks for half-jacks for above reasons
Chapter 29 / 31 (started)
Right away I cast Dome and Deflect. My Lightning Storm attack spell passes it's roll, so I don't need to cast an extra attack spell. I also cast my Healing Spell.

I lay in the field, feeling defeated, ready to give up, and in desperate need of a Hero who can cast Morale Boost so that me and my fellow fighters can rise from our defeat and self-misery. Seeing that there is no hero around... I sigh and take one more minute of self-pity before I get up and charge the spell... charging in progress...

SPELL CHARGED AND CASTED.

My fighters and I continue, with renewed strenghts. And then I see him. The King. And he's mine.
Chapter 30 / 31
My dragon armor spell fares me well and I get closer to the king, despite his defenses. I use Time Stop to save myself from a devastating blow and get myself to safety, using Earth Rift to swallow and destroy the king.

Now... for his soldiers... I charge Peacemaker... charging in progress

So happy to have finished Spellbound!!! This is actually the FIRST program I've completed start-to-finish on DareBee, despite how many years I've been here sputtering about doing random workouts and half-completing programs and starting but failing challenges.
The king is dead and now all that's left to do is to break the curse. I charge and cast Cursebreaker.

Obviously, I choose to stay and rule. There are some spells that I want to experiment with and would like to gain some more confidence in the spells I'm familiar with. I'll be doing a freeform Spellbound on some days. Not sure if it'll be daily, but we'll see! I really loved this challenge and would love to be able to do some of the harder spells, especially the ones with the pushups and the dreaderd shoulder taps.

I had my partner pick out a new Program to start out of the remaining RPG challenges. Pathfinder, it is!!!

Pathfinder*: Chapter 1 / 30
I am a pathfinder and it's up to me to save everyone (or hopefully at least... someone).
Five locations, five people to save. 30 seconds between sets, in order to save them all.
Saving in progress....

I barely get myself back with all survivors. The last two, I almost missed. The reverse lunges about did me in.
I hope to not let them down.
Pathfinder*: Chapter 2 / 30
The Earth continues to rattle and shake beneath us. I lead the way again, with my five survivors close behind.
