The fair went ahead
Tobin Hale, miller of Millbrook
To the guild,
They are gone. Four hundred geese lifted off the green on Saturday evening and the last one honked at us on the way out. The fair went ahead on Sunday and the pies were only a little bit pecked.
I want it on record that I have seen a great many strange things in forty years of milling and I had never seen 104 people flapping at once. The children of Millbrook have been doing it ever since. Nobody can make them stop.
The mayor has her house back. She found three eggs in the pantry and one on the mayoral chair. She would like to know if the guild wants them. The baker says one goose stayed behind and is now living at your hall, which is your problem.
I have a new hat. It is a good hat. I am keeping it indoors.
Yours from the mill,
Tobin Hale
