We Bought The Site A New Computer

The machine DAREBEE runs on has been holding up the entire operation for years without complaining once. Thousands of workouts, every program, the filters, the forum, all of it, served off one box that has been quietly doing its job while everyone else got the credit.

It has earned a rest. So we got a new one :celeb:

Same hosting company, same setup we know inside out, completely new hardware underneath:

OldNew
Processor8 cores16 cores, Xeon Gold
Memory32GB DDR464GB DDR5
StorageSATANVMe SSD, mirrored

Double the cores, double the memory, and storage that is roughly ten times faster at the one thing DAREBEE does constantly: opening thousands of small files very quickly.

What you should actually notice: filters that respond instantly instead of thinking about it first. Workout pages loading before you have finished tapping. Search results appearing the moment you type. Images showing up all at once rather than sliding in one at a time.

Nothing about the site changes. No new design to learn, no account to re-create, nothing moves. It just stops making you wait.

The mirrored storage is the part we are quietly pleased about. Everything gets written to two drives at the same time, so if one ever fails, nothing is lost and nobody notices. Fifteen years of workouts deserve a spare copy.

When is this happening?

Soon. The new server is built and we have spent the last several days testing it, which is why things have been unusually quiet around here. There is a window booked, and we will post the exact date and time once it is confirmed.

One thing to know in advance. On the day of the switch, we are going to ask everyone not to post here for about 24 hours (we will probably close the forum temporally just to be on the safe side). Not because the forum breaks, but because during a move like this some people reach the old machine and some reach the new one, and anything written on the old one after the handover starts does not come with us. It will all look completely normal, which is exactly why we are telling you now instead of on the day.

Your bookmarks, dashboard and tracking are safe, by the way. Those live in your own browser and have nothing to do with any of this.

Full details, exact times and a proper reminder before it happens. It will be soon - we are in the final stages of testing now.

New computer. Faster site. Same everything else.

Ah yes, and the small print: the new server costs $877.03 a month against $700.76 for the old one, and we are paying for both while everything moves across. Worth every cent, and none of it would have been possible without you. Fifteen years of your support is what bought this thing.

Thank you!

We have confirmed switch time: Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 4:00 AM EDT
The forum will go offline for 24 hours to 2 hours before to prevent any data loss :thankyou: the main site will be accessible throughout the process.
