What is the difference between training plans and programs?

Hi, so i am very new to this whole workout thing and i discovered this website and i've really liked it so far. My only question is: What is the difference between training plans and programs?, because to me they seem pretty similar, but i don't know if one is meant to be done in a different way than the other? idk if i explained myself corretly, but for context, i am doing the beginner training plan

@PalatronDead hi and welcome!

The main difference is how much of the decision-making is already done for you.

Training Plans are guides that tell you what type of workout to do each day. You'll use the workout database and the filter feature to choose workouts that fit the plan's instructions. They provide structure and balance toward a specific goal, but you still get to pick the individual workouts yourself.

Programs, on the other hand, are completely pre-designed. They already have every day's workouts planned out for you, usually for 30, 60, or 90 days. You don't need to choose anything yourself, you simply follow the daily instructions.

Since you're doing the Beginner Training Plan...
Plans give you an outline of what kind of workout to look for on the website for each day, and most can be used essentially indefinitely. Programs have specific workouts set up for each day of a preset length of time, after which they end.

Since you're doing the Beginner Training Plan, you'll be selecting workouts from the database according to the plan's guidelines, which is a great way to learn what types of workouts you enjoy and how to build a routine.

I hope that helps :thankyou:
