I guess my current rhythm for the checkins will be weekly-ish :)
Last week i started jogging again. Real slow and just aiming to get some time in and get my muscles, tendons, ligaments etc. accustomed to a bit more more running again.
I also got myself some new shoes (helps my motivation and the old ones are really done). The runs went pretty well, on 2 days i did around 5K, the last run was a bit more than 7K.
Soreness/aches the day after the 7K was not really there which i take as a good sign. I don't want to expand the volume too much too soon. So i guess i'll stick around with 5-7K at the moment.
Besides running i only did a bit of archery. Getting back into it after some long vacancies.

Mhh... almost two weeks since my last checkin. Well, i guess it takes some time to get up to speed :)
I kept up my jogging routine, since last checkin i did 4 runs. 6,6 km, 5km, 5km and yesterday 9km. All nice and slow. The longer run of 9km was really enjoyable and i had no soreness/aches afterwards. So i guess the direction is right.
Archery is also getting better. Last time i found another small thing i can adjust with my posture which helped my accuracy a lot :)
Plan for the next weeks is to continue jogging&archery and also ramp up weightlifting again.
Hope everything is good on your side!

On the 3rd october i did another nice jog of 5K and today i joined a class of Strong by Zumba. Not a lot of workouts/activities but still something.
Today i thought about doing again some workouts at home since it's easier to do them on a consistent basis with busy working days (in contrast to going to the gym). Let's see.

Time is flying. I thought my last week was around 1 week ago, but seems like it's more two weeks.
My workouts are a bit reduced at the moment as work is very stressful and busy these days. The project is not on time and the managers are starting to kind of panic.
On the 12th i went to the gym and did my regular routine - but with reduced weights and higher reps. To ease in after 2 months of no strength training. Still had some doms and aches for almost 4 days. On the 17th i went for another jog, the weather was way too nice to not go outside.
And today i did another workout in the gym. For tomorrow i'm thinking about joining the Strong by Zumba class or do a longer jog or some cycling.
I hope you all have a nice weekend!

Oh, well. I can really reuse the first sentence of the last post: "Time is flying". Main thing is that my job is still very stressful and i am putting in a lot of overtime.
Oftentimes there is no energy left to do workouts. However, i did some weight training and a bit of cardio here and there. But not enough to be really fruitful.
At the moment i have christmas vacancies so a bit time to rearrange things and change stuff. I moved some furniture and am planning to get back into doing darebee workouts on a regular basis - at least this is the current plan with a kind of free mind (without all the job related issues and worries).
Hope to write and read more regularly here.

Thank you all for the warm re-welcome and the wishes.
Christmas was nice, we spent the time at the house of my parents-in-law.
Somehow i managed to catch a cold in the last days, not really bad but still annoying.
I guess tomorrow i can slowly start up with getting back on track, working out etc.
See you soon!

Yesterday i joined the hive video meeting, was really a nice experience.

Today i selected some challenges i will be doing the next 30 days (besides other things like a bit of running, gym etc.).
I'm probably also going to extend the list of challenges, but for now it's good to just get going. Important is that i keep up the momentum during stressful work days. So lets see.
Some focus is currently on pullups. I used to be able to do a bunch of them, i guess some years ago :chuckle:
So today i tested how many pullups i'm able to do atm. Turns out 1 is also a good number
Therefore i am starting out (again) with my beloved negative pullups.

I did

Negative Pullups Challenge Day 1
Epic Core Day 1
First thing pushups Day 1

I had planned for the Flex Hang challenge also, but i'm not there yet. Negative pullups are like unsuccessful flex hangs, so i can turn my weakness into a success :muahaha:
For the next days in the new year i have the "1000 calories" workout on my radar. Let's see how demanding it feels (i'll probably regret it )

Tomorrow i plan on going for a nice jog, i think it's a nice way to say goodbye to the old year.

Didn't go jogging today, but did a nice walk/hike with my wife through the winterly landscape, around 5km.

In the afternoon:
Negative Pullups Challenge Day 2
Epic Core Day 2
First thing pushups Day 2

I also tested the 1000 calories workout - i only did 2 sets. I realized that i had a way too optimistic gut feeling / estimate about my current fitness level.
But no worries, next year will be better :D

My body very clearly signaled me that i hadn't been doing lunges etc. for a very long time. Got really intense doms in my quads and glutes. Felt like a real old man stumbling down the stairs, sitting down etc. So i guess more legwork needs to be done on a regular basis.
Today i did
Negative Pullups Challenge Day 3
Epic Core Day 3
First thing pushups Day 3

Okay, so yesterday i did

small 3 km walk/hike
First thing pushups challenge day 4
Epic core challenge Day 4
Negative Pullups challenge Day 4
50 Squats a day challenge Day 1
Iron Will (Lunges) challenge Day 1

and today

3.9 km walk/hike
First thing pushups challenge day 5
Epic core challenge Day 5
Negative Pullups challenge Day 5
50 Squats a day challenge Day 2
Iron Will (Lunges) challenge Day 2

Tomorrow is my last day off, then i'll have to get back to my currently very stressful job. Let's see how things turn out with work and working out. But i know that i need to put a clearer focus on my time and my health.

Read you soon :)

On the 6th of january i did a jog of 5km. I had to jog very very slowly since the route was very icy.

On the 11th i did
First thing pushups challenge day 6
Epic core challenge Day 6
Negative Pullups challenge Day 6
50 Squats a day challenge Day 3
Iron Will (Lunges) challenge Day 3

And yesterday i did a hike of 10km.

I am currently oftentimes a bit sick with stuffed and/or runny nose so my motivation to workout is not too high.
Let's see in the upcoming days.
