Ran my first 5K yesterday. Didn't come anywhere close to placing, but that was my New Year's resolution that I finally crossed off the list!

Well done! I love 5ks. They're just challenging enough to be a real accomplishment for a lot of people. Do you have plans to race again?

Buff Dudes 12-Week Plan II - Phase 2 Day 3

I got an hourly job at one of my local grocery stores, while I continue searching for my next "career" position. Some decent income in the meantime, plus it's the same place I had my very first job at which is nice. I'll need to figure out what that looks like for working out, hoping I can continue with my current exercise plan but we'll see what my schedule looks like. Further up and further in!

So I'm going for an early year-end report, since things are certainly going to get busier soon...

I completed my first 2024 resolution of running a 5K a couple of months ago, and today I met my other one: losing 15 pounds and reaching at or below 200 lbs! Granted, I've been much busier at work and I'm fighting illness, so that has helped haha, but I still have not seen myself below 200 lbs in over five years. I am proud to have kept this extra weight off as the year has gone by, and I hope to do that in a consistent and manageable way moving forward.

I've been tracking lots of extra steps at work, and am on track to beat 500 total miles walked this year as well.

I am probably going to have to take a break from working out for a couple weeks, and don't know exactly when I'll pick that back up. A head cold, plus busy schedule at the grocery store where I currently work, plus keeping up with my toddler, plus family plans - all means less time for working out. I do need to find a way to be consistent with either an early morning workout schedule or taking advantage of "off time" during the day. I also want to focus more on my writing this year, and may make that a bigger priority this coming year. But I'll still keep it on my radar, and may try some of the newer DareBee programs (for more badges!).

Happy Holidays to all, further up and further in!
