Better Late Than Never™?

I'm late to even starting this thread to track progress, but here goes. :vibes:

I'm a newcomer here, and certainly not the athletic type. I've been trying to ease myself in to a routine, in hopes that doing so will make it less intimidating and lead to sustaining the habit(s) as I build a little confidence.
That said, I'm on day #4 of the Abs Standing (January) Challenge. Figured it was a good a time to start as any - as cliche as the 'new year's resolution' bit is.

I have other miscellaneous goals I'm chipping away at that go beyond the scope of this thread. The only other I'll really speak of here is my intention/goal to get up from my desk once an hour to stretch/move. Due to my job, I can't really leave my desk to take a walk the way I could with my previous employer - but it's something.

So, while it's day #1 of this thread, it's day #4 of Abs Standing (January) Challenge completed.

Oh, and Happy New Year. :celebrate:

& Thank you folks for the warm welcome!
Day #6 of Abs Standing (January) Challenge completed.
I've been pretty good with food today, too - fruits & veggies, lots of water. Also trying to unlearn the poverty speed-eating habit I picked up. Trying to remind myself that 'it's fine, this isn't the only meal I'll get to eat this week' is a surprisingly difficult thing.

(Love the username btw!)
Thank you! :boss:

Nothing special today. Eating better. I'm not counting calories just yet, but might start doing so in a few weeks. :tuzki-nom:

I think tomorrow I'll try to do day #9 in the morning, before work, rather than waiting until after. I feel like that might help wake me up/feel a bit better in the morning, and would like to gently encourage the habit.
Hello, Happy New Year. I am too new

Work was so busy yesterday I completely forgot to post my update. I was able to do day #9, though. Not in the morning the way I hoped, but it did get done.

Day #10 of Abs Standing (January) Challenge completed today. I really hope work becoming more busy (getting added to a project on top of my usual work duties isn't promising in terms of hours they'll expect me to be glued to my desk) won't throw me off, but there's only one way to find out.

Skating by with only an hour to spare in the day, but Day #11 of Abs Standing (January) Challenge completed. Ugh, today was not a good day. I hope I sleep better tonight & tomorrow is kinder. :night:

Day #12 of Abs Standing (January) Challenge completed.
Today ended up being a little kinder in an unexpected and frankly silly way. I was helping my parents clean out their garage and, well, thanks to a very silly mistake I made years ago - I found an untouched $100 gift card in some of my junk before we threw it away.

No surprise gift cards today. But I was reasonably productive with some personal projects, so that's good.

Had a doctor's appointment today (first time I've have insurance since before COVID), a little baby step towards better health. It'll be a few years before any worthwhile change shows, but here's hoping.
