Military prep prep

I want to do the military prep program but I am overweight 37years old man 34 percent body fat and out of shape is there a few progressively harder programs to build up to the prep program. I already have a very high step count from work but I'd like to get back in shape like I was when I was in the USA Navy

Hi there!

I'm not knowledgeable about the programs, so here's hoping another Bee comes in and comments.

I can, however, say that you're no longer in an environment where structured discipline and exercise is mandated, so do give yourself a big break. I'm pushing 41, and realizing that fat loss is mostly about what you eat. So that may be a good place to start.

Yeah I'm trying to get better about that. I need to put more effort into that and maybe that should be. My main priority is cleaning up my diet and some people will say eat what you want. Just watch the calories but I just feel better on a cleaner diet even if my calories are still too high. Something I've noticed is I am low energy and sick all the time, but cuz I've gotten older I've noticed the heavily muscle physiques at least for me. The more muscle mass I carry the more sluggish I feel and you don't have to build huge amounts of bulk just to be strong. After I got out of the military many years ago, I fell heavily into a lot of bad habits. A lot of junk food, a lot of live, fast lifestyle and a lot of drugs and alcohol to be honest and and I finally got sober but I had a kid and I just haven't been consistent in anything but I want to be around for my kids
