Wednesday, 25 June Wins: 247 days
Steps: 4,875/5,880
Work Moves:
Hid at my desk because I was hurting
Main workout
10 calf raises
10 negative calf raises
20 arm circles

Cramps because it is the week where it sucks to be a woman. But hey, heating pads are amazing.

Thursday, 26 June Wins: 248 days
Steps: 4,916/5,780
Work Moves:
I had planned on doing something because I was getting an allergy shot in the afternoon, but it just didn't work out.
Main workout:
100 high knees
200 punches

Okay, it is going to be a thing. I need to do anything workout related before I go get allergy shots. I feel sluggish afterwards, even after waiting 2 hours. I tried to sprint to 5k at the end of the day, literally 2 minutes to midnight, but I just didn't make it.

Friday, 27 June Wins: 249 days
Steps: 5,451/5,610
Main workout:
Better Day Stretching

I did a lot of cleaning on this day. I am feeling a lot better about my house currently, though I still have a lot to make up. I do feel like I could have done more, but I instead spent a ton of time hydrating because I know we are going to do some more tomorrow after I get home from practice. Also, my knee felt a little funky.

Saturday, 28 June Wins: 250 days
Steps: 6,258/5,580
Main workout:
1.5h Fencing Practice in 90˚F weather
Gaming Gains:
Chores
Hydrating
Hollow Hold 14 & 15
2 min Abs 12
Reset 15
CoSr 15
More chores

Knee has stopped doing whatever that was, so yay! Had a good time at fencing practice, but good grief, it is getting warm early. Came home, hydrated some more, then got more cleaning done. Not as much as I wanted, but I know my energy had been sapped by the heat. Overall, we're halfway through the house/list of chores, so I am happy with the progress. I might get another room done tomorrow, otherwise, we'll wrap up the big clean on Thursday, which we have off.

In the rotation:
Momentum 22 | Unbound r2 22 | Hard Reset Cardio (12)14 | 2 min Abs 13 | Reset 16 | CoSr 16 | Hollow Hold 16

Gaming Gains (aka, what did I do to take breaks from gaming):
Hydrated
Read

Total: 66+4=70 (26 no count)

So, I've been noticing a few things. Also, it's kind of a brain dump, so feel free to ignore. I love you anyway. :tuzki-love:

* My energy has been both better and worse since I stopped taking Zyrtec. I think this is because the brain fog lifted and I feel a lot better in that department, but because I do have some allergies, my body is now spending more time fighting them. I am working combating this more thoroughly through getting allergy shots, but it will take time. Overall, this is not really a problem as my main symptom is congestion and some light eye irritation. These are things that I can live with.

* My workouts have increased in intensity (more jumping jacks and high knees), but I have been neglecting certain things that keep my body healthful. Like knee strengthening things like squats and lunges and arm strengthening via weights and arm holds. These things were definitely felt after this weekend, as I have tired knees from squatting to clean baseboards and tired arms from fencing. Oh, and I was thinking today during the Hollow Hold challenge that the hardest part of superman holds is holding out my arms.

* My steps have tanked significantly. It's hard to get walks during this time of year - the hot season. :soaked: For instance, when I wake up tomorrow morning, right before sunrise at 0430, it will be ~89˚F and is expected to rise to 100˚F by 0900 at the latest. Granted, this is the first time this year that it has gotten this warm (the high tomorrow of 115˚F), but it's hard for me to want to go out in it. I need to, to maintain my conditioning, but I also think that trying to get out into it to walk 4 days in a row, like I have been trying to convince myself to is ridiculous and is hurting my cause (making me not do it at all because I don't want to). Maybe, if I go take a 15-minute reading break outside instead, that might help to trick me into going outside while not having to do much work (like walking). I need to do more walking in the building or more walking in place things at my desk.

***Note to self*** Let's take a look at last year's steps at this time of year in comparison. Maybe I just see a general decrease this time of year? Answer when updating steps tomorrow. --- It appears that the answer might be yes. I didn't go searching for my notebook yet, but quick overview last summer did see a reduced number of steps. BUT, I was suffering from plantar fasciitis. 🤷‍♀️

* Journalling has become difficult. Granted, I am an ill-disciplined journaller - I rarely write in my notebook, but this has been much less than normal. Maybe I need to give myself permission to doodle/free write/reflect in it again?

* I have been reading a lot more this month, putting me back up to near February/March levels. Which is great, because I have too many in progress series right now. :peek:

:drink: Stay hydrated and have a wonderful day!

Monday, 30 June Wins: 252 days

Total: 70+2=72 (27 no count)

It was a rough day today. I once again have a headache, though it is only light and persistent. Not fun, but I still got stuff done this evening in spite of it. I'll do June math tomorrow and pick new boxes.

:drink: Stay hydrated and have a wonderful day!

June Box Math:

30 days * 4 boxes per day = 120 boxes total
120 - 27 no counts = 93 boxes total
Goal = 80% of box total = 80% of 93 = 74 boxes :x: (2 boxes short)
Super goal = 90% of box total = 90% of 93 = 84 boxes :x: (12 boxes short)

Okay. Not great, but not bad either. I am not upset by this, it has been a bit of a crazy month for me. And I keep having a hard time letting myself just do level 1 of Momentum. Because while I prefer to play on hard mode, I can't let it keep me from trying a page and deciding that I need to take it on easy mode today. Just something for me to work on. :ss:

=================

July Boxes:
⏹️ 5k+ Steps - this is still very important to me. I didn't make it 6/30 days last month, 20% of the time. The goal is to get that down to 10% and in August increase the threshold by 1k
⏹️ 1 carry over item - This means I need to do one thing from the rotation that existed at the start of the month. I can only get one point per day from this category.
⏹️ 10 squats, 10 jumping jacks, & 10 negative calf raises - I have to do it all. And nothing from a card, challenge, or a program count. I wanted to add pushups in too, but it felt like a little much.
⏹️ Successfully get M to workout at least twice a week. Runs Su-Sat. Negative marks until twice a week is reached, then no counts instead of negatives. I get to be flexible about what counts.

Bonus points
**0** Strength workout for arms with weights
**0** Completed programs & challenges
The number will increment with every successful item. This allows for me to earn things back. So, if I have a bad day or two, I still have a chance to change things.

Tuesday, 1 July Wins: 253 days
Steps: 7,050/5,270
Work Moves:
Pyre lvl 3 + EC and with 30s rests :lovelots:
CoSr 18
Main workout:

This evening, I went to arrow class again. I didn't get a lot done, but I've started coming up with some ideas for what to do to my arrows as far as painting them goes.

Wednesday, 2 July Wins: 254 days
Steps: 14k+/5,450
Work Moves:
LOTS of field work :move:
Main workout:
10 squats, 10 jumping jacks, and 10 negative calf raises
10 calf raises
Reset 18

And that's about it for today. I'm a little tired all over. But that is good and awesome. And I drank all the water today and I am feeling pretty good this evening, so I think I withstood the heat pretty well today.

Plan for tomorrow - wake up, start laundry, work out, shower, wake up M, then go get allergy shot & breakfast. Yeah, I'll see in the morning how sore I am from today's field work. Lol, I should sleep extra good tonight.

Okay, I'm hungry now. I'll probably edit in the rest of the calf raises and anything else I get up to today, because I might have some gaming gains later. Depends on how I feel after the 2hour wait post allergy shot.

:drink: Stay hydrated and have a wonderful day!

I have come to the conclusion that this:

❔ Successfully get M to workout at least twice a week (0/2)

Is making me push him too much. He's already making exasperated noises and ignoring my suggestions, which means that I am going to end up with ❎ all month, an annoyed husband, and him not doing any workouts. So, I am dropping it. It is not worth it. I'll just keep asking him to workout. I just don't know how to motivate him to actually do it.

If only the mandatory workout from Ready Player One was real. Then I wouldn't have to be a bad guy and he'd actually do it.

Friday, 4 July Wins: 256 days 🎇

Today was pretty low key. I got a lot of stitching work done on my husband's Christmas stocking. At this rate, I'll be done with it by the end of the month for sure. I didn't really get any cleaning done today other than laundry, but my body has been feeling out of sorts all day long. It'll be okay - I just had a hard time getting to sleep last night and it all just rolled down hill. I'm really tired right now, so I'm going to try to ride that wave and get some shut-eye now.

Sunday, 6 July Wins: 258 days
Steps: 2,350/7,130
Main workout:
Glutes, Quads, Hamstrings, & Calves

This was not a good day. I didn't sleep well, in fact, I fell asleep on the couch and M couldn't get me up to actually go to bed. So, I ended up with a migraine due to terrible sleep and cybersickness from video games. Very unfortunate, but I was feeling somewhat better by the evening.

Steps: 5,693/6,660
Main workout:
10 squats, 10 jumping jacks, & 10 negative calf raises

Today, well this evening, I was unreasonably upset and I just couldn't figure out why. I eventually did and it was because I am worried about change at work. I feel much, much better now that I have worked out and worked through the "why", but I think I might have overdone it a little. My watch has informed me that was a "high exertion" workout. Lol, I haven't seen that output before. If I'm okay, I think I am going to go for Momentum tomorrow, even if it is at level 1. I am at least going to try.

Thursday, 10 July Wins: 262 days
Steps: 4,536/6,780
Main workout:
Before Bed

On this day, I was utterly exhausted. I barely made it up late enough to finish putting a second load of laundry into the dryer. Overall, I didn't feel too poorly over the course of the day, just extra fatigued. I couldn't even stay awake long enough to get the extra steps to reach 5k. :ragdoll: But it's okay, I know I overdid it a little on Wednesday.

Friday, 11 July Wins: 263 days
Steps: 3,998/6,340
Main workout:
Reset 21 - my legs were rebelling the entire time.
CoSr 23
10 squats, 10 jumping jacks, & 10 negative calf raises

Today, it was really hard to convince myself to do anything. Partly because I woke up with a slight headache, so I laid in bed for an extra hour instead of being productive before seeing the weight loss doc and getting my allergy shots. So, I've done what I can and I've prepped my workout for tomorrow.

In the rotation:
Momentum 22 | Unbound r2 22 | Hard Reset Cardio 18 | 2 min Abs 18 | Reset 22 | CoSr 24 | Hollow Hold 21 | Ronin's Blade r2 2

Main workout:
Quick Warmup
EoD - 20 split lunges
10 jumping jacks
Momentum 22 lvl 1 - Oof, I was procrastinating from this because of the plank combos. but it's my ankle on the butt kicks that's got me today. But I did it (even if it's at level 1) and I going to just be proud of that.
100 cross cuts - Ronin's Blade r2 2 (100/400 cross cuts)
Hard Reset Cardio 18

Unbound r2 22

Okay, just saying, I didn't plan on trying to do everything today. But I just got going and kept on going. I feel fine, other than my ankle being weird.

Had a good day at D&D. We laughed and had a great session. I do have to wonder if the missing people had an effect, but I guess we won't know until next time when they return. The drive didn't feel as long or boring today either and I didn't feel like I need caffeine on the way home. So, overall, it's been a strange day. Oh, and I didn't do the workout until I got home, so that was different too. I'm off to eat my late dinner now. :sendinglove:

10 squats & 10 negative calf raises

Nice, quiet day at home. I prepped veggies for shake protocol, which we'll be starting tomorrow. We'll just have to see what I have energy for, but I fully intend to do some desk friendly workouts to help compensate

Shake Protocol Day 1
Steps: 4,849/6,000
Work Moves:
CoSr 26
Seated Calves
Main workout:
2 min Abs 19
Hollow Hold 22

Doing all right, other than wanting to eat things. And being fatigued. But fatigued seems to be the norm these days and I am pretty sure it is because I stopped taking my allergy meds so my body is spending more resources dealing with it. And weirdly enough, it is making me go to bed at a proper time these days. Now I have to worry about sleeping too much, because 6-7 hours is the sweet spot. I start feeling like I am groggy past that.

Tuesday, 15 July Wins: 267 days
Shake Protocol Day 2
Steps: 6,119/5,770
Work Moves:
30 calf raises
Helios lvl 3 + EC
Main workout:
10 squats, 10 jumping jacks, & 10 negative calf raises
2 min Abs 20

I felt pretty good today. I do wish I had gotten more stuff done, but with shake protocol it is hard because I am so hungry by the time that we get home that I don't have the willpower to workout before making dinner.

In other news, Apollo has an ear infection. My poor boy, we've had to block off his access to under the bed and install a calming collar. He's way more chill than he was on Saturday (the second day of medicine), but I feel so bad for him. Just look at this sweet purrito!

Thursday, 17 July Wins: 269 days
Shake Protocol Day 4 || Added Vit. D
Steps: 5,586/5,650
Work Moves:
15:59 morning walk with audiobook - took it nice and slow and there was even a little water from the sky :hheart:
10 jumping jacks
Main workout:
10 squats & 10 negative calf raises

I've reintroduced the extra vitamin D to my regimen. I think I've been spending too much time inside, because I definitely feel better on the days that I spend significant time outside. I'll consult with doc on Monday, but I suspect my bloodwork results will agree with this. I already feel pretty good today, but it is only the morning, so I'll take stock again in the afternoon. Afternoon - energy levels remained good. Hmm, interesting. I need more data. Also, I am very over shakes. I am glad this is the last day. Though, I have definitely lost some weight.

Friday, 18 July Wins: 270 days
Allergy shots || Added Vit. D

Unbound r2 23

Last night, I found the missing pattern for my niece's stocking, so now I can finish that pattern as well. Good timing, since I just finished up the top stitching and couching for the cross-stitch ballerinas this morning. This was a relatively simple pattern as far as decorative stitching goes. I did the base cross stitching on this one a while ago, at a time where I was drawing on the gridlines with pencil, so they should come out when I do eventually do the washing/blocking step.

20250718_113520.jpg

In regards to working out, this was perfect and exactly what I needed. As an added note, I still feel delightfully energized. Now, off to hydrate and do some more chores!

Oh yeah, I am definitely feeling more myself. Also, doc called, since she was about to reschedule my appointment for the third time and gave me the results of my bloodwork over the phone. Everything is good! Though, since these results were from a month and a half ago, when I was still getting out for regular walks, I am still thinking that my vitamin D is out of whack. And then I fell down the rabbit hole of what happens if you have too much. Thanks internet. Cool. That was fun. I think I'll keep it up for the week, then back it off and see how I feel after that.

Anyway, today was a good day and I'm off to get some well-earned shut eye.

@graoumia Thank you! The diet changes are not going well at all, I'm afraid. Our breakfasts have improved, but I haven't been able to take the time to work out better lunches/dinners. It's on my to do list to do some of that research this weekend.

Added Vit. D
Steps: 4,540/5,960
Main workout:
10 jumping jacks, 10 squats & 10 negative calf raises

This day, I spent the morning experiencing some positional vertigo and nausea. The vertigo is nothing new, just something that hasn't been much of an issue lately. I managed to get it to clear up, but I took it easy the rest of the day. That is, up until right before bed when I got a couple of things done.

Main workout:
Quick Warmup

10 squats
Hollow Hold 26
Momentum 27 lvl 1
Unbound r2 25
10 negative calf raises

Today was a pretty good day. My butt started feeling achy a little after lunch, so I gave myself a little liberty in choosing what I did today. I picked abs and everything seemed okay other than seated twists, which were very uncomfortable. In the good news category, I attempt all sit-ups and I even managed to sit up! Now, to get more consistent at that and get my feet to stay on the ground. But it is a start!

In the rotation:

@CODawn It truly does. I always forget just how bad it is until it happens again.

Work Moves:
Field Work - ~1:40:00 of walking

Wednesday, 23 July Wins: 275 days
Had fish => No extra vitamin D
Steps: 15,528/6,230
Work Moves:
Field Work - 2:07:15 of walking
Main workout:
30m+ of Volleyball

I was a buzz with energy today! After having done field work yesterday and even more today, I thought I was going to be dead tired when I got back to the office. NAY. I instead buzzed around, putting out proverbial fires, and then proceeded to play volleyball with my coworkers. And and and, we won the game. Absolutely fantastic day.

On an interesting note, I should have had a hormonally driven migraine yesterday and I didn't even have so much as a headache. I find this development very interesting. Was it the vitamin D? The increased interest I have developed in ginger candy? Experiments might need to be conducted next month.

Thursday, 24 July Wins: 276 days
Had fish => No extra vitamin D
Steps: 5k+/8,090
Work Moves:
None, I had too much going on today
Main workout:
2 min Abs 22
10 jumping jacks, 10 squats, & 10 negative calf raises
2 min Abs 21
Reset 26

Alright, so I needed to take it easier today. My feet were a bit achy this morning, but by now, the dead end of the day and way later than I should have stayed up, they feel much recovered. I am dreading climbers, but they are truly unavoidable at this point because Momentum, Hard Reset, and Ronin's Blade all have them. So, my goal this weekend is to overcome all three of those climber days. I might be asking a lot, but I cannot continue to hold myself back because of them. I am going to fix the issue. :tude:

20 calf raises => ==mm== (40/200 calf raises)
Momentum 25 lvl 1 - turns out, the plank arm raises were worse than the climbers - unhappy ankle, so I stopped at level 1

Hollow Hold 27
80 calf raises => ==mm== (200/200 calf raises)
Unbound r2 26

I mis-spoke, Ronin had shoulder taps and plank walkouts, not climbers. Regardless, it was plank/ab work that I was avoiding... which is kinda funny because I haven't been avoiding 2min Abs or Hollow Hold.

I spent a good chunk of the day in the car, so I got a lot of reading on the first leg and then I listened to an audiobook on the return journey. So, I read/listened to three different stories today. Sometimes I wonder how I keep the storylines separate in my head, but I do.

I did a ton of can crushing today, because I found M's prodigious stash of cans that he has been avoiding crushing since the weather got hot... so probably since April? When completed, they filled four brown paper grocery bags. I am glad I undertook this task in the morning, but it still took 3 hours to do. I can't even imagine if we didn't have a device to crush them in and I had to stomp on them instead. :panic:

Overall, it was a pretty good day. I made up some of the zucchini nuggets off Darebeets and they were delicious! :carbs:

Yoga for PCOS

And today was the tension headache. So, I didn't play volleyball tonight, which makes me feel bad. Writing this up right now, I am actually feeling much better than earlier this evening, and I have a plan to make tomorrow better - I am going for a morning work walk. And then in the evening, I am definitely going to aim to finish 2 min Abs and I think I might go for an arm strength card. ;) Gotta get me some extra points!

-------------------------------------------------------------

In the rotation:
Momentum 28 - Motivation is hard for day 28. I might have to break it into mini sessions - Probably on Friday when I'm home. I've actually been thinking about this and having a level I, II, & III for each combo, just to see how many of each I can do. And to break it up a little.
Unbound r2 28 - I want to finish, but time is against me and I've been pairing it with Momentum.
====> Goal for Momentum and Unbound is to finish by August 7th. Ideally, I'd wrap it up this weekend, but I am trying to give myself a little grace, since I've been in a weird place lately
Hard Reset Cardio 20 - I've been focusing on the others, and I am okay with this. I'll pick it back up shortly. If I do a power walk tomorrow, I will allow it count towards day 21.
2 min Abs (28)(29) - I can make it, lol, if I double up tomorrow
Ronin's Blade r2 6 - I will pick this back up this weekend for sure!

Boxes:
☑️ ❎ ☑️ ❎ 5k+ Steps

Total: 59+8=67

Hollow Hold review - This was tough and there were a few times where I had to take micro breaks, but overall, this was the perfect progression in time to be able to hold both of these for longer. My arms are still the weakest part of these exercises, but I can hold the core part of the hold for the entire duration.
Reset review - TBH, I wasn't sure that I would survive this. It was really hard to get myself to do the jumping jack days, especially at the beginning. But, I now get about 32 non-stop jumping jack in the first 30 seconds and the microbreaks in the second and third are either non-existent or greatly reduced in quantity. I CAN do jumping jacks. As for the wall-sits, I know that my form is far from perfect, but I did survive these with almost no breaks. Now, don't judge me, but doing Duolingo during them really helped to distract my mind from the passage of time and helped me to get my daily practice in as well.

The day started out okay, other than a persistent headache that I refuse to call a migraine. I took lots of breaks, but I got all the chores done that needed to be completed. Then I decided to go check the mail and my ankle gave out and I fell. Shortly thereafter, I went to the doctor's office to get allergy shots and see the podiatrist, who I coincidentally had a follow up with for my plantar fasciitis problem from last year (pretty much all gone, by the way) and he looked at my ankle and told me to take it easy. Over the course of the evening, it really started hurting. So, low key yoga workout for me and no fencing practice tomorrow.

My ankle is definitely unhappy. I woke up at 5am this morning and I just couldn't get back to sleep because my ankle hurt too much. And Orion kept headbutting me for pets. So, yeah, I caved and took some medicine which has definitely had a positive effect, but it is visibly swollen. I buzzed around the house briefly, doing some last minute tidying before my friend stopped by to pick up her sewing machine and literally 10 minutes after I sat down, it was throbbing again. I'm glad that I've taken it easy on my workout this evening, but I am bored from sitting around.
