Work Moves: 15m Walk with M

I had a lovely birthday! My cupcakes were a hit and when M took me on my walk, it was so they could sneak into the room and decorate my desk. I was so surprised when we got back. I was grinning from ear to ear all day long. And I got a birthday card from my coworkers. This was the best birthday I can remember in a long time.

> P (Bradley) - 20m Broadway Ride

P (Camila) - 5m Post-Ride Stretch
The Miner 11
> 15 knee push-ups - 3 piles of dirt
10 squats, 10 jumping jacks, & 10 negative calf raises

⬆️ That felt good. I had a nice, peaceful day for the most part. Well, other than being a bit moody and temperamental due to hormone reasons. But hey, the bike ride helped me stabilize and I was good for the rest of the evening. I think M understood that was my intention when I told him wanted a workout when I got home, before dinner.

 A card came in the mail from my mom and I kind of freaked out a little because the handwriting was so shaky. I called and she says she's fine, it's just the way her handwriting is now.

@graoumia Thank you. :gots: Yeah, she's going through some stuff and the doctors aren't sure what's up. So, I'm still a bit worried about her, but I am hoping that it'll be alright.

Friday, 22 August Wins: 305 days
Steps: 5,764/5,180

P (Aditi) - 5m Morning Meditation => 30 Days of Yoga 6
some cleaning
2m of slow calf raises

I started out strong in the morning, then developed a nasty headache. So I did some calf raises, nice and slow, while brushing my teeth for bed. My calves were burning when the timer went off, so I'm counting it as a win.

Saturday, 23 August Wins: 306 days
Steps: 6,122/5,250 - I'm not 100% sure how I've gotten this many steps today, because I had too much car time.

10 squats, 10 jumping jacks, & 10 negative calf raises
The Miner 12
> 15 knee push-ups - 1 emerald, 1 topaz, and 1 skeleton 💀
Wall-Sit 17
Ronin's Blade r2 12 - I fought the shadows! **COMBAT POINT**

We had to go out on a "mission" today, as M is calling it. We had to drive over to Mom's house to pick up some stuff that they were giving us and came home with far more than we expected. So, 6+ hours of car time with about half an hour moving things in the middle... during which I was experiencing some nasty cramping, so I felt totally useless. I am proud to say that we did go to the grocery store after we returned the rental vehicle, so we are set for Meal Prep Sunday.

In the rotation:
Hard Reset Cardio (24)26 - I aim to finish this this month
Ronin's Blade r2 14 - I've got to stop putting it off because I don't want to scare Apollo away. He will eventually get over his fear of my bokken. This will carry over into next month.
IRONBORN 8 - I like this one but I've just been super inconsistent. This will carry over into next month and will probably be a box.
30 Days of Yoga 8 - I am enjoying it thus far. This will carry over into next month.
Super Abs 9 - I've been inconsistent here as well. This will be a box next month.
Wall-Sit 20 - I am hoping to have this one completed this month. It is well within the realm of possibility.
The Miner 15 [11 gem] - No idea about finishing this one this month. I hold out hope, but it's alright if I don't. I can say this, I am doing much better at this challenge than the last time around.

Wall-Sit 20 & 21
Hard Reset Cardio 26

It was super rainy today, so it was therefore awesome! However, the weather also brought me a headache that was not awesome. So, I did what I could today and that is enough. :ss:

Weird thing - I had to go fetch our garbage bin when we got home because it had been displaced in the neighbors yard, so I ended up getting drenched. By the time I got inside, my headache felt better. Not all the way better, but better. I'm not sure what happened there, but it was a strange thing.

Farpoint
10 negative calf raises

I know, I know. I started the new program. But I started it with a rule. Until September, I can only enjoy the new program if I do another program. And the program that is currently getting me box points is HRC... So, that's what I did tonight. And tonight, it got me through a combat one. A fairly easy combat one compared to the others in this program... or I am I getting better at combat? :chuckle:

As for today, it was okay. I'm feeling a little bloated and chubby, but that's okay. I'll be alright. :boned:

I even wrote a little today, using Labyrinth as a prompt. I might type it up here later. But not right now. Now is dinner. :carbs:

The Threshold:
I entered the Labyrinth, curious about what I would find. The remains of an ancient civilization? Possible, since the torches flared to life when I entered the room. Treasure? Not my primary focus, but perhaps I would find something worthy of being put in a museum.
My musings were interrupted by the sudden shaking of the room. I gasped as the rolling of the room threw me, and I stumbled and nearly fell. As an added bonus, my vertigo started kicking in, amplifying the nausea induced by the quaking floor. I finally got my feet under me and I just breathed, focusing on my breath as the shudders and shivers continued and finally, they subsided.
I sat on the floor for a moment, composing and centering myself before rising and deciding which way to go. I pulled a d12 out of my pocket and decided that I would go left if it were odd and right if it were even (right and down on the map, respectively). My lucky die hasn't steered me wrong yet that I know of and what better way to decide my fate than to let destiny decide. Evens it was and so I continue on to the next room cautiously, but still intensely curious about what is inside.

I can't say that I'll feel up to this every day I do The Labyrinth, but I am sure going to try. It felt really good to just let my imagination wander. I haven't been doing enough of it lately.

I'm putting this under spoiler tags out of an overabundance of caution since what I'm commenting on is under your spoiler tag. :P

Anyway

I may have to steal the idea of using some RNG to decide which room I move to :D That's a really good idea. I always have dice on my desk so having an excuse to use them for DareBee activities sounds great.

I hope you have fun in the labyrinth!! I'll be joining in a few days. If you find me dead in one of the rooms feel free to take all of my stuff and distribute it amongst the Bees who survive :P

@astro_lizard
Yeah, I spoilered so that I wouldn't ruin anybody else's adventure. :click:

I frequently face decision paralysis, so for me, having the RNG of the dice gives me specific rules that will guide my adventure, keep me going, and keep me from being tempted to peek to inform my decision. :peekz: Please, steal my dice idea, I love the thought of others randomly traversing the Labyrinth.

I hope you enjoy the Labyrinth too!! I am loving the little stories that go with the nodes. If you find me dead in the Labyrinth, you can do the same with my stuff. :mhearts:

I need a place to think, so bear with me.

Challenges for working out today:

:rstar: I need to bake some cookies for work tomorrow - but I will have time during the chill period to do some working out and I can "snack" when a pan is in the oven.

:rstar: Hard Reset Cardio, Ronin's Blade, IRONBORN, 30 Days of Yoga, Miner, and Super Abs all have plank work today. - THAT IS A LOT OF PLANK WORK. I'm going to keep the 2 challenges, but I am struggling with the will power to do even one of the programs today. Grr. Okay, I can do HRC because I want the box. And I can split it into two as snacks since it has 2 parts. If I want more, I can snack on the day ahead in RB (sword swinging) and I'll take on the next day in 30DoY (meditation). Tomorrow is field work, but I'll try to get another program's plank work sorted out. Maybe IRONBORN tomorrow. - Why do I keep letting this happen. :crawl:

:rstar: M. He's going to want to watch TV (we are currently watching The Rookie and are obsessed) with me, but I need to workout and bake. - This might be avoidable if I talk him into playing video games with his friends. Note to self: Talk M into visiting the second nearby gym on Friday and we'll go sign up at the one we like the best. Gymming is starting next week, if I have anything to say about it. "Hey honey, want to come with me to get my allergy shot? On the way home, we can check out Gym Y and see if they are better than Gym X."

:rstar: Oh, and I am worried about all the lunges in Node 6 of Labyrinth, but I'll just do my best. My knees have been doing fine with the squats I've been doing, so I'll just take it slow and careful and I should be okay.

Okay. I think I have a solid plan. :comeon:

Wednesday, 27 August Wins: 310 days
Steps: 6,801/5,750

Hard Reset Cardio 27 Part 1 :tired:
Wall-Sit 23 & 24
10 squats, 10 jumping jacks, & 10 negative calf raises
Hard Reset Cardio 27 Part 2 - Okay, I am listening to my body. All further plank work is cancelled for this evening. I'm looking at you The Miner and Super Abs. I struggled to hold the elbow plank at the end. But I did it and I have won HRC today. :crawl:

Okay, so no plan survives contact with reality. All things considered, I'm calling it a win. Why do I keep piling up plank work? Because I procrastinate from doing it, I do more than one program & challenge at a time, and most of them contain plank/core work. It's alright, just a hiccup to pass by. I'm just mildly annoyed and amused by myself. :handon:

Cookies are going alright. I've had a small misstep, but I think I've ironed it out. I'm still not quite used to the bake times on my new oven. They are going to be a hit tomorrow for sure!

I did end up to agreeing to one episode with dinner. He's now happily playing games and chatting with friends, which I think his stress levels needed. And I pitched my stop by the gym idea, and he thinks it's a good plan. :excited:

And I did my write up today for my current Labyrinth node, but I'm not doing it tonight, so I'll save it for tomorrow. :tuzki-love:

@graoumia Push-ups used to be a sticking point for me too. Squats only were when my knee was hurting or I had somehow convinced myself that being over cautious about it was the way to go. Thank you for the encouragement!! :tuzki-love: The cookies were a major hit. I am now giving tips about gluten free baking. :chuckle:

Thursday, 28 August Wins: 311 days
Steps: 11,843/5,860

At work:
Field work - 1hr46m of inconsistent walking - roughly 2 miles (I tracked it starting about 5 minutes in just because I was curious.)
And then because I was bored and no one else was in the room and all I wanted was to go home...

The Labyrinth Node 6 lvl 1 - I rolled even - 40 butt kicks to Node 11 (butt kicks while wearing steel toed boots, might I add)
Saitama lvl 1 **COMBAT POINT**
30 Days of Yoga 9 - P (Nico) - 5m Calming Meditation - Not that I understood a word of it because I picked one that was in German, but it was still really relaxing.

At home:
Ronin's Blade r2 14 - Thank you Panda!! :jacks:
Wall-Sit 25
10 squats, 10 jumping jacks, & 10 negative calf raises

Overall, today was a very, very good day! I did great at work, even though I didn't really do much productive things in the office after I got back in from field work. It didn't help any that we had a potluck for lunch. So, it was mostly communal goof off before the holiday weekend. Now I am going to settle in and enjoy the rest of my evening.

=================
The Chamber of Echoes:
Bravely, I stepped into the next room, taking 3 strides in before I was assaulted by the echoes of my footsteps. Rushed and hurried as mine were, they collided with each other, producing a cacophony of deafening sound. I stood motionless, my heart racing as I waited for the sound to abate.
I felt like a stone was in my throat as I swallowed and steeled myself to step forward once more. Again the sound rose, and in it, I could hear the hesitation of my single step. Was I so foolish to think that I was capable enough to find my way through this place? I continued forward. Countless others had come before and surely countless more would follow me. Who did I think I was that I would succeed where they failed? My forward progress faltered and I stepped back twice, feeling so very afraid of being found wanting, of being unworthy.
I was never one to be senselessly afraid and as I remembered myself, something clicked and I took the next step forward with more confidence than before. The only person I need to prove myself to is myself and I find myself worthy of this challenge. I came here, to this labyrinth, of my own choosing. This is where I belong, right here exploring this place. With each step, I fell into my stride. My steps swiftly established a rhythm that turned from a wretched din of self-doubt into a strong, solid march that eventually harmonized in a singular agonizing note and fell away as I reached the other side.
Once more, I took a moment to center myself, feeling the quiet of the room settle around me. I took it in for a few moments before I pulled out my die and cast it. Once more it was even and I passed through the door in front of me (down on the map) and into my next adventure.

Friday, 29 August Wins: 312 days
Steps: 2,589/7,060

Good Evening Abs

I'm just going to call it a mandatory rest day. My feet were sore, I got an allergy shot in the middle of the day, and my new glasses gave me a headache. There is something wrong with the right lens. Because I also got new sunglasses this year and I can wear those no problem. The glasses have some sort of inclusion or something because it gets weirdly fuzzy and the intensity of the fuzzy shifts when I look around and move my head. I'm going to have to take them back in and get them looked at.

Saturday, 30 August Wins: 313 days
Steps: 6,167/6,620

P (Alex) - 5m Post Ride Stretch
10 squats, 10 jumping jacks, & 10 negative calf raises

Wall-Sit 26
Hard Reset Cardio 30 [29/30]

Alright, so I gave the new glasses another shot. Turns out that I was just having a really difficult time with the peripheral adjustment. I did the second block with the new glasses and between that and doing some chores, my eyes had a chance to adjust. Every once and a while, I'll move my head and something will adjust weird, but it's just me getting used to the new power of my glasses.

Sunday, 31 August Wins: 314 days
Steps: 4,596/6,530

Wall-Sit 27
30 Days of Yoga 8

I fully intended to do better today and finish HRC. And I was doing alright until I went to the store wearing my new glasses. Every time I would rotate my head and keep staring at something with words, I would notice that my glasses were acting like fun house mirrors, but only on my right eye. I am very sure at this point that there is something wrong with the glasses and it's not just my eyes needing to adjust. Wearing my new sunglasses that have the exact same prescription as the new glasses produces none of these effects. As such, I had a terrible headache when I got home that has lasted pretty much all day. I am resolved to take in my new glasses and get them checked out.

Now it is much too late for me to be doing cardio things. It's okay, I'll just call it an early win for September.

I'll do box math tomorrow. I am already planning for September and I think I am going to bring a change that might help me to better meet my goals.

August Math
31 days * 4 boxes per day = 124 boxes total
72 boxes + 12 bonus points = 84 total boxes
Goal = 80% of box total = 80% of 124 = 99 boxes :x: (15 boxes short)
Super goal = 90% of box total = 90% of 124 = 111 boxes :x: (27 boxes short)

Okay, I didn't do so good this month. That's okay, it was a tough month. I am going through a slow down and that's okay. I know part of it is because I am off my allergy meds and I haven't yet gotten to the point where I am seeing improvement from the allergy shots. One more month of high temps and humidity to go, then I'll get outside more often and that'll help too.

=================

September boxes
⏹️ Carryover item - ANY carryover item (except The Labyrinth) will mark this one complete. Carryover items will be marked with a star for clarity. I can earn bonus points for doing more than one.
⏹️ The Labyrinth
⏹️ 5k steps - I am bringing it back to 5k, however, I may earn a bonus point for surpassing 7k
⏹️ The mini - 10 each jumping jack, squats, pushups (any kind), negative calf raises, and calf raises. Just a small increase to keep me from wimping out.
**0** Meditation - this month, I want to be a bit more introspective.
**0** Completed programs & challenges

Since work is having a pushup challenge this month, I may add a Darebee challenge that includes pushups, to help me earn a few more points. I may not start anything else new until the carryover list is 50% cleared out.

EDIT: I am adding 50 Push-ups and Squats r2. I may skip them in the mini if I do the challenge that day. I know I literally just said that I couldn't add anything other than the push-up challenge, but what can I say. I'm doing it, since I am about to finish out Wall Sit and it fills that niche nicely.

I am also very aware that I could earn a ton of bonus points this month. I am okay with that because it means I am engaged and it'll help me feel a little less bad when I have a day that I just can't do as much.

Monday, 1 September Wins: 315 days
Steps: 5,882/6,150

200 flutter kicks
100 clam shells
figure 4 knee hug on the ground for at least 20 seconds each side
10 calf raises

I did a lot of cooking and baking today. I also figured out why I've been feeling crummy - I haven't been drinking enough water! So that became my primary focus of the day.

:rstar: The Miner 17 (24 24 24) - Uhh, so I was curious how many squats I did today, so I counted my 3x30s worth. The answer is 255.

Farpoint

Okay, this was a weird day. M wasn't feeling too good, but insisted on going to work anyway. So, we ended up taking half the day off, which is fine, because I am in a weird transition period now. Tomorrow, we'll really get into changing me over to the other team and I'll probably spend a good part of the day dealing with moving my desk over. Cleaning, wire management, move, clean some more... yeah, it'll be a whole thing. But I think I am ready for the change. I am still a bit apprehensive, but like I explained to my old, acting old, and new team leads, it is because I am change adverse and it's really hard for me sometimes.

I waited until late to log again. Sorry! I'll get stories typed up and included again soon.

Thursday, 4 September Wins: 318 days
Steps: 5,039/5,900

10 jumping jacks, 10 squats, 10 calf raises, 10 negative calf raises, and 10 push-ups
Glutes, Quads, Hamstrings, & Calves

My left arch hurt all day, my new glasses gave me a headache that persisted even after I swapped back to my old glasses, and I just felt fatigued.

=================
Friday, 5 September Wins: 319 days
Steps: 4,075/5,820

10 jumping jacks
50 Push-ups 3
10 calf raises & 10 negative calf raises
:rstar: Wall-Sit 30 :completed: - I was trying to finish this and HRC on the same day, but no luck.
Squats r2 3

I had a little more energy today, but that was after having really bad headache up until this evening. I did go get my glasses looked at and everything is a lot better on that front. They aren't perfect, but they are no longer inducing a headache and nausea. I'm going to take the win for now. I'll see if they are really better when I go to the store with M tomorrow. The effect that bothers me so much was best observed in that environment.

I think I might hit up a sleep meditation tonight, as I had a lot of difficulty falling asleep last night and this tends to help.

Tomorrow's targets:
* Fencing practice
* HRC

Sunday, 7 September Wins: 321 days
Steps: 7,418/5,650

10 jumping jacks - nope, these are instantly horrible. That is, I did the 10, but I'm going to have to modify The Labyrinth so that I can keep going.
Squats r2 4
:gstar: The Labyrinth n21 lvl 3 - Modified jumping jacks to step jacks. I just can't do the bouncing in my left foot today and I REFUSE to keep napping outside the door to node 21!
10 calf raises & 10 negative calf raises
40 medium speed butt kicks to Node 22 - By medium, I am not going full speed, but my heels are off the ground and I am going as fast as I can without the hop.

:rstar: The Miner 18
> 15 knee push-ups - I found 2 piles of dirt and a worm. GROSS!
I may or may not add in some extra stuff later this evening, like a meditation. Depends on how I am feeling. --- Nope, nothing else happened

HRC is tabled until further notice - basically until I can do the rotation for the kicks without my foot hurting. Which was not today. I'm going to finish it this week, one way or another. :tuzki-stub: Mostly kidding. I won't do anything to make it hurt more, but if it feels better, I am taking the opportunity to finish it out.

Tomorrow, a push-up challenge starts at work. Yeah, that might mess with some things. I'll have to see how it jives with The Miner and 50 Push-ups. In other news, I am cancelling Super Abs. I like it, but I haven't been doing it justice and I will continue to ignore it for the rest of the month due to push-ups. I'll restart it later.

Usual meal prep Sunday shenanigans - we've got 12 lunches/dinners and 8 breakfasts, so we are good to on that front. I do wish I had made some cookies or something because it's been nice to have some guaranteed safe for me treats. But it's okay. :)

I also had D&D tonight and I had a great time! I forgot how fun these specific D&D sessions can be. My DM is just so awesome and I am glad she is finally feeling better.

In other news, I am slowly working my way through people's logs to get caught up. I can't believe how behind I have gotten.

Final note, I did go back and check my count. Start date of streak was Oct 22, so I am now correct and I went back and corrected the logs that were off.

The Iron Cogs:
I stepped slowly into the room, looking around before I entered fully. After the previous rooms, I was feeling far more cautious than I had earlier. But my caution was for naught, as this room wasn't instantly trying to kill me. The room shook and shuddered, but I quickly figured out that it wasn't I causing this to happen. I let myself relax a little and look around more. I could see that the doorway to the next room was sealed tight, so there had to be something to solve here. The more I looked around the more the still cogs bothered me. The constellations were glowing softly, but there was something off about them. I could feel the labored breathing of the room, of what felt like the Labyrinth itself, urging me to help it. I finally spotted it, the spot where the cog was out of alignment. I shoved, pulled, and strained to move the gears back into place. Time passed unnoticed as I focused on my task. With a mighty click, the locking pin on the last gear slid into place and everything around me rumbled to life. I wearily sat on the floor and watched as the constellations shifted around me. After a time, I stood and I passed through the gate to the next room.

I'm going to try to get at least one more up today.

In between sets of :gstar: The Labyrinth n27 lvl 3:
**Squats r2 5

**10 jumping jacks - add right ankle to the unhappy party - doesn't hurt, just feels a little stiff and overused

So, we had a great start to the work challenge. It was really great to get most of my group together to do push-ups. I am really going to be feeling it tomorrow, but I think so will everyone else.

It was bittersweet to leave my old team today. I am just around the corner, but it feels so strange to walk by the room and know that it isn't mine anymore. I miss them already, but I know that I need this to grow. And I totally left my water kettle in there so that I have an excuse to visit.

:drink: Stay hydrated and have a wonderful day!

The Tide Hall:
I looked into the room and my hand went to my bag, checking the seal on my notebook. It wouldn't do for my notes and the record of turns to be ruined by my carelessness. The room was shiny with water and I entered, wading through the ankle deep water. I stopped, when I noticed that the water was rising and it was suddenly as high as my chest. I held against it as it ebbed and rose once more, faster than the first time. I withstood it once more, counting how long it was low so that when I moved, I would have enough time to ready myself to hold my ground. The next time it ebbed, I moved, counting under my breath. But, the water rose more slowly so I kept moving until it was hip height and stopped. Once I stopped, it again rose and crashed into me hard and fast.
I see, I affect the room. When I stay still, when I hesitate, the room reacts to me. Now that I knew, I worked my way across the room with surety, reaching the other side. I seized the rusty chain and I hauled the sluice gate open. I ran for it and slid through, grabbing my satchel as the sluice gate closed behind me. I rested there for a while, regaining my strength for quite some time before I moved closer to the next room.

The Chain Garden:
I stepped into the next room and I could instantly tell that it would be nightmare fuel for M. The fear of falling is strong in that one. I held onto the thought of him for a moment before I refocused on the task before me. One misstep here and I would be toast. Suddenly, I was glad that I had rested after the previous room as I had had the chance to dry out. I pulled on the first chain testing it before begining traversing the room. I took my time, moving with great care. My aching muscles may not have appreciated my slow movement between the tiny platforms, but before long, I was facing the final chain. I could see faint foot or possibly paw prints on the counterweight of the door. Suddenly, I knew what I needed to do. I grapsed the last chain, kicked as I swung out, and I hit the counterweight squarely with my feet opening the door below. I dropped to the platform below and passed through the door.

Coming soon: Node 22, Node 23, and Node 27
I'm almost caught up! :pose:

In other news, I am very sore today. So, I am going to be a little more lenient on 50 Push-ups. I must complete as many as possible full and I must complete all numbers in a row. For example, all 10, then all 6, then all 4. Today, I did the 10 full, 4 of the 6 full, but I immediately switched to knee and finished the 6, then the 4 on my knees. And then I kept on pushing for the work challenge. I'll continue to attempt full push-ups throughout the day.

Tuesday, 9 September Wins: 323 days
Steps: 6,972/7,020

At work:
10 jumping jacks
A grand total of 400 push-ups: consisting of 16 full push-ups and 384 knee push-ups. Also, the first push-ups I did satisfied 50 Push-ups 6, as indicated in my earlier post.

Fighter's Warmup - HRC is a no, my ankle is still being weird
:gstar: The Labyrinth n26 lvl 1 - ankle says that's enough lunges
10 count elbow plank, just because I was curious if it would be uncomfortable. It surprisingly wasn't too bad. I think I'll go for RB d17 and/or IB d8 here shortly. Push-up ab soreness doesn't seem to affect my planks.
40 medium speed butt kicks to Node 31
10 negative calf raises
Squats r2 6
:rstar: The Miner 20 - hey, did I just say that planks weren't too bad. I'm wrong. That last set of Miner got me.
15 knee push-ups (+5 extra to make an even 20) - 2 piles of dirt & 1 ruby
:rstar: IRONBORN 9 - 8 lbs - since I don't think I can do d8 today

I think that I am in some kinda survivor mode right now. Lol, but I am totally enjoying doing push-ups with the guys. Since none of the other groups appear to be interested in competing with us, we've now set the goal to do better than last year, which was 31k. Since we are already at 6k, I think we stand a solid chance. That and I think I heard a rumor about us getting a pizza party. Yo, a pizza party would be so cool.

But back to survivor mode... Workout wise, I am just doing what I can and accepting quite easily that it is enough, like today and level 1 on The Labyrinth. I am okay with what happened there and I am also just glad that it wasn't my sore abs that knocked me out on the plank. Now, am I worried about 50 Push-ups push-up planks tomorrow? Yup, totally, but that is a tomorrow problem. I think I am going to try to do them first thing in the morning, when it is just me in the office unless I can do them when I first wake up.

Tomorrow's goal list:
:star: Labyrinth
:star: IRONBORN
:star: all my challenges
and if I could get 30 Days of Yoga OR Ronin's Blade d18's meditation, I'll be happy.

Wednesday, 10 September Wins: 324 days
Steps: 7,956/7,020

At work:
50 Push-ups 7
10 calf raises
Squats r2 7
:rstar: The Miner 21
:rstar: 30 Days of Yoga 12 - P (Nico) - 10m Morning Meditation - not exactly in the morning, but that's okay :ss: **MEDITATION POINT**
A grand total of 410 push-ups: consisting of 17 full push-ups and 393 knee push-ups.
:wants:I promise, I did get work done today, it was just an I-can't-sit-still day. And my team lead is super hyped about the push-up challenge, which I just feed off of, so I am super hyped about the push-up challenge. And that is all further encouraged by the fact that I am currently the 4th place contributor of push-ups (1st for women). Yeah, I'm not at all competitive. :peek::hehehe:

At home:
10 jumping jacks
Cardio Warmup - those half jacks were kicking my butt!
EoD - 5 push-ups :comeon:
15 knee push-ups (For mining purposes) - 3 piles of dirt
:gstar: The Labyrinth n31 lvl 1 - I rolled even
40 medium speed butt kicks to Node 36
:gstar: The Labyrinth n36 lvl 3 - after the first set, I did 20 high knees, 20 climbers, 20 high knees, 20 climbers - partly because I messed up on set two, then I realized that it was easier to count to 10 because I kept overshooting 5 and not realizing it until I counted to 9 😅
40 full speed butt kicks to Node 37 - ehhh, not my best plan, but it was okay-ish
10 negative calf raises
:rstar: IRONBORN 10 - 5lbs, except for 10lb on shrugs
:rstar: 30 Days of Yoga 11 - so many modifications. I did my best on #5, but that was rough, I replaced #6 with #2, my knees were bent on #8, and my back was on the floor for #11. This is why I was putting it off.
**I might do a sleepy time meditation. ** HAHAHA, I am funny. This would have helped me to sleep better, sooner. 1000% Should have done this.

Well, that was a very productive day. I've also noticed that I have had a number of productive days in a row now. M and I have been talking about that actually. I think that now that things are kinda cooling off and the days are lengthening, that I am starting to feel better. I haven't been outright depressed, but I am more fatigued, I feel stressed because "summer is supposed to be fun", and honestly, some of my best days this summer were the few times it rained and my birthday. And those were actually very recent days. I'm not sure what to make of it, but I think I need to think of ways to lessen the stress next summer. Because just trying to chug through, then getting down because I just can't and being hard on myself as a result is not okay.

But how am I today?

Well, I was way less sore than yesterday. I found that having a jerky stick in the afternoon helped me feel a lot better after a 3rd day of doing pushups on the hour for 9 hours in a row. I feel like I am a valued member of my new team and I like that my new team lead has a serious interest in helping me grow, as in he was actually talking to me today about projects that will do that for me. Not meaning any offense towards my previous team lead, but he wasn't always the best at people development. He would encourage us to find our own opportunities, which doesn't really work in my line of work.

Oh, and I am optimistic about taking a walk outside tomorrow. I think if I do it after the first set of push-ups at 7am, it'll still be fairly nice out.

Tomorrow's goal list:
:star: Labyrinth
:star: IRONBORN
:star: all my challenges
:star: A meditation walk towards Ronin's Blade d18 meditation
:star: Catch up on writing at least 2 rooms of The Labyrinth, hopefully more.

Okay, today was a weird one. I had every intention of hitting the ground running, getting my workout in early, but despite actually getting 8 hours of sleep for once (I average 5-6 hours most of the time), I felt dead tired this morning. Lol, I know that 7 hours is my sweet spot, but dang, I forgot how uncomfortable getting too much sleep can be. Anyway, I decided to take it easy and then kinda didn't. Because I had to get the house ready for the pest man coming over to spray.

But hey, the results of the day are:
* a much cleaner house
* the house got sprayed both inside and outside
* a successfully quick trip to the store for needed things
* an eye watering trip to the allergist, because there was an odoriferous individual who had an unfortunate incident with a sewer
* a successful workout where I did everything I set out to do.

I am feeling very good about today. Normally, I would have pushed to do both node 38 and node 39, but I'll leave that to tomorrow. I also wanted to get another carryover item, but I'm okay with not.

I had a lovely D&D day today. We also had lunch with Dad and it was great to catch up. But, as is the case with most D&D travel days, I didn't get a proper workout in. But, I also feeling super stiff and achy by the time I got home (lower back and the knife edge of my right foot), so I am just going to be okay with getting the mini. Alright, I feel super accomplished right now. I do think that node 38 might be my least favorite one so far, but I did it without putting it off. In other news, my feet are still hurting a bit, but I think it'll be better later this week. If I am feeling spunky this evening after I finish meal prep (I've only done like half of it at this point), I might come back for HRC and possibly the push-up planks so that I don't have to do them tomorrow. We'll see. For now, lunch and getting the gluten free chicken pot pie in. Note to self, find pie crust recipe, M bought the very last ones from the store and they are unlikely to get more.

I do have 3 more nodes written in my notebook. I'll get them typed up either today and tomorrow and get some more written up. I really am enjoying it and I think it is making me want to actually write again. I just need to find the spark of inspiration.

:drink: Stay hydrated and have a wonderful day!

The Masquerade Hall:
The moment I stepped into this room, I knew I was in trouble. Masks have always held a strange fascination to me. They cover anywhere from the vigilante mask to the full mask with a headdress. They come in many unique styles and can be simple or incredibly unique.
But I had learned by now to assume that everything here is out to kill me. Or at the very least, test me. Once the intervening moment had passed, I began to hear them.
"Wear me, and you'll never be weak again."
"Wear me, and you'll never be heartbroken."
"I'll bring you the swiftness of Hermes."
"With me, your Voice will command them all."
"Wear me and be beloved by all."
"Wear me and you'll never be at anyone's mercy - they'll be at yours."
"Walk in the shadows with me."
The voices kept coming, as unique as the masks they represented, each louder than the previous and promising greater and greater things. I didn't even know I had been walking, as I had been so focused on my breathing and on not listening. It wasn't until I had walked right into the door and the voices ceased that I realized that I had crossed the hall. I sighed with relief and I left this terrifying room behind.
The Broken Sword:
This room was softer and calmer than any I had been in yet. I let myself take a moment, watching the room cautiously, before I approached the pedestal. I reached out and hefted the sword's hilt, which was surprisingly lighter than I expected. I had intended to wave it around, but I suddenly felt that would be irreverent. As I looked at it, taking in the craftsmanship, the light caught the inscription, broken and unreadable as it was. I returned it to the pedestal and I slid one of the fragments into place. The inscription glowed briefly and I quickly reassembled the rest of it to read "Strength is not what you hold. It is what you release." My finger tips had lingered on the shards while I read, so I pulled them back as the sword grew frighteningly cold.
I stepped back, feeling that this room was completed. I bowed, honoring the sword and those who bore it. The message resonated within me, making me think of what I put out in the world. It is my actions and my words that define me and are my strength of character. The things I hold are the tools by which my actions and words can come about, not the source of the strength itself. It is every piece of me that I share with the world and that is a powerful thought. Solemnly, I left the room as the sword disintegrated behind me.
Returning to the mask room sent a thrill through me, but they remained quiet as I passed. I noticed another door to the left and decided to move further into the Labyrinth.
The Shadow Dance:
I stepped in and stopped immediately. This room has a certain feel to it and I didn't dare a misstep this far into my journey. However long I had been in here already had taught me much and this felt like yet another test. I started to feel that I didn't care what was at the end, just that I had proved myself worthy at least to myself, if not this place.
It was bright in here, almost enough to make my eyes ache. And yet there were shadows from nothing, faintly frolicking and dancing around. I glanced down at my own shadow and I watched it separate from me. How strange - this important part of me just left me and I didn't feel a thing. I watched it with fascination as it moved, less like the fainter, dancing shadows, and more like it had a purpose to fulfill.
The I had a thought - it was my turn to be the shadow. I mimicked it carefully, sliding through each movement and held with bated breath on every pause. It felt like every other shadow had stopped to watch our progress and evaluate my performance. I breathed a sigh of relief as I heard the mechanism of the doors click and the doors began to move. My shadow bowed to me, and I to it before it returned to its' rightful place by my side. I looked left and right, rolled my die and proceeded to the right [left on the map].

Coming soon: Nodes 26, 31, 36, 37, 38, 39.

HEY HEY HEY, I did the thing! I finished Hard Reset Cardio!!!! :completed:

I do wish I had completed it closer to the rest of the program, but I think I figured out my hang up on combat. I am still remembering how easy Tae Kwon Do was when I was a teenager. I am not a teenager anymore, but I am still expecting my experience to be as easy and it hasn't been. Like with everything else, age and lack of consistent combat work has slowed me. And I think that for some reason, even though I know that and I accept in every other aspect of my workout journey, I have had a harder time to accept it here. It's something for me to think on more and work on accepting.

I'm going to edit add it in above for my tracking. Regardless of my reflection, I am super excited!!! :twirl: :tuzki-hero:
