The tra1n1ng journal cont1nues

Hi f1shy, here some advice that I would give myself when dealing with big changes in life (even though I find it can be hard to actually follow my own advice):
- regularly talk / write to someone about everything that is happening
- try to keep good things in mind (for ex. naming 3 good things each day, doing a little grattitude journal or trying to make a list of things to look forward to after the challenging phase)
- making lists of things I have to take care of (my bullet journal helps me with feeling more in control)
- take time for calming activities like being in nature, taking a short walk, taking some deep breaths at an open window, listening to some calm music, lying on my yoga mat and doing nothing

I hope that some of this is helpful for you too!

Goodnight all! Anyone got any advice for just mentally dealing with big changes like this? Not just for like, the physical moving but... the mental stuff, since I'm gonna have to really give away a lot of stuff I spent money on lmao
There is a fantastic Koan that has helped me throughout the years, after moving countries and leaving many things (and sometimes people) behind, often not by choice.

"While moving out of their family home of 30 years,a person asked their teacher, 'how do I let go of all these memories?'
The teacher picked up a dusty photo album and asked, 'Where are the memories in this book?', 'In my mind', answered the person.
'Then you're not letting go', he said, 'you are letting in'."

When I moved last year I thought I would have a really hard time downsizing all my stuff, but once I started digging through it all, it became clear I wasn't actually all that attached, or had no idea why I was still hanging on to a lot of it (I'm talking to you Shadow Hearts 2, you may be the greatest JRPG ever made, but I've no idea how I thought I'd get a PS2 game running without buying another PS2!), although admittedly I did still take too much with me.
My advice would be to just get stuck in with the clearing out and see how it goes, it may turn out to be nowhere near as bad as you think it will be.
Good point... Man though do I have a lot haha. Wanna come over and look through my yarn with me?

I do have a couple of my old PS2 games but they're sentimental af, I mostly wanna have a PS2 again when I have my own place (I WOULD NEVER FIND TALES OF LEGENDIA AGAIN IF I RELEASED IT)

Honestly lying on a yoga mat and doing nothing sounds... SO GOOD RIGHT NOW. I don't have my yoga mat in my room rn but dude...

I may have to make that list for sure, I'm really bad at looking forward to things. Thanks dear!

Given how we have lived in this house for 34 years, this... ... Oh I need to think about this one.

Thank you all so much for this, by the way. I'll definitely follow this. I got another bin done today.

1,822 - PT stuff and whatnot, I should probably do grounded abs again...

1,216 - Some meditation!

Goodnight everyone, the fluff boy and I love you <3

1,817 - Some PT stuff + clenches/unclenches

1,211 - Some meditation!

At besties until Sunday, then spending Sunday night + Monday cleaning and packing. This still honestly does not feel real, though. That house was a great place to grow up. Now I need to confront my packrat tendencies and... Ahahaha. I need a hug.

Also fluff boy lov u <3
All the hugs (I'm a bit late)

Thanks bud <3

1,824 - Clenches/unclenches and... A lot of moving stuff around yay. I stopped after three bins tonight, I was bringing it out of my room and accidentally pushed the lid of the bin into my stomach against a doorframe oop.

1,218 - Some meditation!

Goodnight all! We're gonna see the condo tomorrow so let's hope I don't break down wheeee

And yes, fluff boy lov u.

1,828 - Went to PT tonight! Yay!

1,222 - Some meditation!

Alright, been slacking on packing but we gotta do more tomorrow. LET'S GET MOTIVATED.

But first. Sleep.

Also Cooper went to a compliance meeting today for mom and dad's work. He was a very good boy the whole time and he got a bunch of treats from people, and greeted people warmly by gently snooting their arms.

1,835 - I WAS IN THE SWEAT ZONE VACCUUMING AND PUTTING STUFF AWAY I AM COUNTING IT

1,229 - Some meditation!

Aaand today was a day - Went to the doctors for some pain in my breast and they're doing a mammogram next month. Doc doesn't think it's anything nefarious but I am terrified. It's my only symptom (the pain, rather). It may be my posture from work or just, stress?

Speaking of stress I knocked a glass over and cut my hand lmao, happened like 20 minutes ago. It's not horrible but I am nnnnot pleased with myself right now. I did at least get the bleeding to stop and cleaned up the blood from the sink because again THE APPRAISER IS HERE TOMORROW

OF COURSE THIS HAPPENED

Stress can definitively be the culprit, but it is a good thing to check there isn't anything else. It can also be the posture as the ostheopath cas able to help me for this once. But it can be scary.

So sorry for your hand, take care my dear

Oh absolutely, it's just... It's a lot right now.

Especially because now fluff boy has to go to the vets again tomorrow since he has some weird black scaley stuff on his back on the part that got shaved last year when he was at the, again, vet ;A; it's probably an allergic reaction but AAGHSGDFKJLDFSJKL

1,836 - PT stuff!

1,230 - Some more meditation!

But yeah, it may be allergies, we are hoping. The pollen here has been so awful, poor guy can't help but sneeze outside. And the pollen just, rolls off my car windshield like sand on glass.

So yeah it's been a week and I need someone to teleport here and give me a spine aligning hug.

I love you all, so does fluff boy.

1,838 - Some PT stuff and some walking!

1,232 - Some meditation!

So I think I found the cause of my breast pain - Having my period for the first time in months.

Oops.

I'll do the mammgram anyway just in case but uh.

DAMN IT PRIDE IS NEXT WEEKEND AND PORTCON IS THE WEEK AFTER

UTERUS THIS IS NOT THE TIME!!!!!!

Also Coop and I lov u <3

1,842 - Some PT stuff and calf raises!

1,236 - Some meditation!

Goodnight all! Early sleep because right after I posted that last one I did the dumbest thing I've ever done (this week anyway) - I took my focalin before bed on accident.

For those who don't know, I have ADHD. Focalin helps you focus. It's a stimulant.

I did not sleep.

GOODNIGHT FLUFF BOY LOV U

1,844 - I downloaded an app for calisthenics and... Yeah, did that! Hybrid Calisthenics specifically (no I am not being paid) (alas). Let's see if I can actually stick with it.

1,238 - Some meditation!

Goodnight all! We're uh... Coming closer and closer to moving out. My poor mom though, this is so hard for her. ... Also it's gonna be hard on Coop since we'll be in a condo and we need to get his barking under control.

WE SHALL TRY.

(and we lov u)

It happens to the best of us. I hope you managed to sleep even if it was a little.
I slept that night at least! Thanks bud <:

1,845 - CALISTHENICS AGAIIIIIN

1,239 - Some meditation!

Goodnight all! I'm going to bed early for a weekend/Friday night WHO CARES THO WE SLEEPIN SO WELL, GONNA BE SO HONK SHOO PILLED

I am so sorry to everyone that reads my shit and doesn't have English as their first language, trust me, I am baffling even and especially to native speakers.

1,849 - Calisthenics and I WENT TO PT

So defo next PT sesh it'll be the last one. Been going to them for a year and a half. Phew. I'll miss the people there, tho. They're very sweet.

1,243 - And some meditation!

Goodnight all! I'm gonna be at a con for a few days and I'll be back Sunday. I will demand the fluff boy gets his blueberries!

1,856 - Calisthenics again and some calf raises, still sore from the con

1,250 - Some meditation!

Goodnight all! I'm tired lol. Closing on the condo is tomorrow.

I'm really appreciating the house I grew up in. I've never moved, except for college, but the home was still here. It's a really cool place. I hope someone will appreciate it.
