Universal Warmup
Recovery Program day 15/15
--------
The challenging thing about programs for me is definitely the part where I have to remember that I'm doing it and then also to take the time to do it. I didn't expect to start and finish the Recovery Program this year but I'm happy about it. My first finished program of 2026!

June and July are going to be sooooo busy, or at least it currently looks like they will be  I am looking forward to the challenge though! I did think for a moment about picking some challenging darebee goals for the month again, like I did in March & April, but decided against it for now. For the next few weeks I have weekly handstands training and probably also weekly back&core workout with a friend planned. As long as I keep that up, along with daily warmups and logging, I'll be very satisfied! Any acrobatics or additional workouts I do in June I will consider Extra Credit ;)

Yesterday
Universal Warmup (kinda rushed)

Handstand training (about 40 minutes)

Busy day, lots of running around and cycling back and forth through town. The timeline for the day was ambitious but I managed to get everything done, except for my challenges

As mentioned before, June is pretty full with things I really want to do or really want to get done. This first week I have already noticed a disbalance between time spent exercising and time spent sitting in uncomfortable chairs. My shoulders and back aren't very happy about it.

Goals for the second week of june:
- use breaks during the day to actually go outdoors! Take a walk around the building and/or do some standing exercises (squats, leg raises, shoulder circles etc.)
- do a warmup every evening, ideally paired with some stretching

Yesterday evening I got a message about a change of plans for today, meaning that I had to leave the house one hour later than usual. And somehow I managed to take care of a few things in that time, but not do my usual morning warmup or any replacement warmup. Sometimes I really don't understand how my mind works!

I had an appointment with an orthopedic doctor today. Turns out my legs are not the same length! It's not a huge difference, but apparently enough to explain the reoccuring issues I have with the whole area from head to hips. Good to get a bit of a better picture of what is going on in my body!

Afternoon edit:
Some warmup
Some short deadhangs (up to 20 secs)

Break and deadhang to failure: 50 sec

Might edit later to add anything that I do in the afternoon. It is going to be very warm today though, so maybe this is it for now.

I have started wearing a little insole in my shoe. It has half the height of the difference in length between my legs "to ease into things". So far it feels good, let's hope that my hips, spine and shoulders benefit from it.

Morning warmup: missed

It was a bloody hot day for doing anything. I still went to an event in the city for a few hours. Cycling there was the best part thb, the rest of the time I was just feeling too warm and sticky

Morning warmup: neck/shoulder only

Too little sleep and too much heat makes for a bad mood apparently. But I did finish a project a day before deadline, so that is one victory for the day.

Evening walk
Counting victories (2/30): I managed to take care of feeding myself, despite the kitchen being the hottest room in the apartment âś… (a grain+green+bean salad for tonight and I also prepped some potatoes for the hot weekend ahead)

As mentioned a few days ago, real life social things are difficult at the moment. I'm really unsure what would be helpfull to genuinely make me feel better about al of that. It sucks and gives me tension headache.

Walk in the forest with a friend (around 2 hours)
Neck&shoulder warmup (seated)
Back blackroll

Counting victories (3/30) âś…

The walk in the morning made such a difference for my stress levels! Gentle movement in nature is great, I have to remember that :tears:

Hi all, daily logging doesn't seem to work so well for me currently. I don't know if it has to do with the novelty having worn off, or my new diagnosis of "leg is simply a bit short" or with June & July just being so very busy or a mix of all that. But I AM doing movement-things and I'm just gonna try less regular logging for a bit. Let's see how it works out.
Since Monday it has been much cooler here, which is a pleasant change. Currently I don't remember if I did at least a Universal Warmup a day for the first part of the week :vsad:

What I do remember:

Wednesday 1.7.
Some warmup
3 sets of Back, Core & Abs exercises with my back-pain buddy
Some sets of other exercises that I don't recall perfectly (knee pushups, lateral arm raises w dumbbells, tricep dips?, shoulder press w dumbbells, ???)

Thursday 2.7.
lunch-break Universal Warmup
Handstand training (80 minutes)
A 15 minute healthy shoulder video with a housemate

Friday 3.7.
Universal Warmup
Perfect Balance Challenge (Lvl1) day 26, 27 and 28/30

Hi all, daily logging doesn't seem to work so well for me currently. Life is sometimes like that. As long as it works for you and posting helps you, do it as often or as little as you need.

I hope your "busy" has been a "good" kinda busy, and I am sorry about the diagnosis. Sometimes life is a bit meh.
The fact that you are still here tells you something about yourself and what you want. So perhaps you might just want to keep a consistent movement routine, in whatever form that takes to adapt to your needs.

I am rooting for you to be happy and to find out whatever works for you.

Thank you so much @LiteraryMatcha! The diagnosis has actually been a very positive event for me, since it brought an end to the long phase were I just had tense shoulders and back without a known cause! I did however also change my mindset from "I'm probably just not exercising enough or not doing the right exercises, I really need to push myself" to "cool, I now mainly just have to wear the insole for a few weeks and wait for physical therapy to start". That is not necessarily bad, but it did make a little break in my motivation and darebee-patterns. :eager:

So yeah, I'll just hang on and try to find a new pattern! Busy-ness is expected to die down end of July. I think August might be a good time for starting a few new challenges or even a program

Thanks @agc @CODawn @NancyTree @LiteraryMatcha!
