Trying new patterns

Looking back on the month January I am quite content :ss:

- Getting back into the habit of starting the day with water was much needed.
- Even though I had phases in my life before where I managed to do 10-15 minutes of "shoulder/back wellness" exercises daily, doing Universal Warmup in the morning every day for a month feels like a great achievement! It is such a nice consistent pattern AND gives me the opportunity to do another set of something in the evening (which means more minutes spent on wellness in total and somehow it gives me the great feeling of doing something extra, if that makes sense?)
- I think I also was outside for a bit each day (!) and managed to catch a bit of daylight nearly every day, which is really important for me in the months December through February (I found it hard to count out my streak on mobile, might try again later).
- I finally managed to take a walk in the forest in my temporary hometown
- I managed to go to the boulder gym in my temporary hometown and have found some folks to maybe go bouldering together with sometime.
- haven't missed a single acro training since I moved to this town, which feels a bit unreal tbh. As long as I dont get ill anytime soon, I might finish my time here with perfect attendance ;)

I now have one more month away from home. I hope to use this one to build some more strength in body and habits, keep the headaches away and reflect on which habits I want to transfer to back home.

Morning
Getting up at once: no alarm day (streak: 0)
Arcade hops (day 10)
Universal Warmup
50 high knees in one go (EotD)
Upperbody and Core Challenge Day 17/30

Preventative Sore Neck Workout

Goals for February:
🏋 Doing the Back and Core Program
🌞 keep catching all the daylight I can get
👯convince at least one person from my offline life to pick a darebee challenge to committ to together
🎯 pick a goal/exercise that I want to practice for each of the last 4 acro trainings beforehand (Since it is self organized I often ended up in a pattern where I am happy with my warmup and with the fact that I usually train basic skills with some beginners, but then I never get around to practicing things that really challenge me)

Getting up at once: only snoozed once ⭐ (streak: 0)

No walk today (since we had a talk/presentation during lunchtime) but I left a bit early and cycled home with sunshine ✅

Evening
Acro training (slightly too slow for my taste, but still with some fun exercises)
Arcade Day 17

Upperbody and Core Challenge Day 25/30

---------------
Back And Core on hold since acro makes for great back and core training

Universal Warmup

Arcade hops
Short lunchtime walk ✅

Evening
Arcade Day 18/30
Upperbody and Core Challenge Day 26/30
Back And Core day 6/30
Pistol Squat Prep Workout
Plank jump-ins (EotD)

------
Disliked exercise of the day: side-to-side lunges from the last workout! Until I looked them up in the video exercise library, then suddenly they became easy. In the pistol squat workout the figure shows the foot flexed up, which is much harder to balance for me than the variation shown in the video!

Morning
Getting up at once: I did it! ⭐⭐
Universal Warmup
Upperbody and Core Challenge Day 28/30 (o wow, this challenge went by really quickly! I liked this much better than Better Legs  )

☔ lunchtime walk ✅

Evening
Universal Warmup
20 V-Extensions (EotD)

--------
Arcade and Back And Core day 8/30 on hold because I fell ill during the day. Lets hope that it is just a mild case of the sniffles, but still keeping calm and going to bed early.

-------
Making progress on one goal that I had for february: asking friends to do a darebee challenge! A friend from my hometown will be starting Lowerbody and Core Challenge with me on saturday :worried:

-------
I also developed a new goal: I wanna get into a routine of rotating the following calisthenics oriented workouts (idealy doing each one once a week):
Pistol Squat Prep Workout
L-sit Prep Workout
Handstand Prep Workout (maybe adapting this one slightly)
For this week only the L-Sit one is open, so I hope I will be well enough during the weekend to do it. Replacing one with another calisthenics themed darebee or video workout every now and then is also fine. I want to work on this at least till the end of february.

I think that going home early yesterday, taking a nap and sleeping long this morning has helped tremendously! Still sniffling and tired, but it's not too bad. Not really able to concentrate much today though.

Now that the (kinda late) acro trainings are over for now... I'm starting with Going To Bed On Time Challenge (without phone or other screens!) for 22:15
> going to log it on the next morning because that won't work otherwise

This is the last week of my 3 months abroad! I know that the next few days are gonna be stressfull with finishing things off and packing my stuff. So far I feel fine, hoping it stays that way!

Saying goodbye to al the people I worked & otherwise spent time with for the past 3 months was weird, but it also went over smoother than I expected. I received (and exchanged) many friendly words and well wishes over the course of the week :ss:

Yesterday (Saturday):
Yesterday was another challenging day, because I had to finish packing & cleaning and then drove home for several hours. It was mentally tiring and I only managed to do Universal Warmup in the morning, and some leg swings + shoulder circles during a travel break.

Going To Bed On Time Challenge ⏸ (although I was in bed quite early actually, but for some reason I already decided to just restart with day 1 on the first day of march)

---------

This morning
Getting up at once: no alarm day
Universal Warmup (back on my own balcony in time for some early spring sun!!!)
Lowerbody & Core Challenge Day 15/30

Out and about 🌦
A little bit of walking ✅

Evening
Lowerbody & Core Challenge Day 16/30

----

Looking back on February: the month simply went by much too quickly!

Review of Goals for February:
🏋 Back and Core Program: I did work on this, but I never really got into it that much. I will continue with it but won't make this my main goal.
🌞 daylight: yes, lots of lovely walks!
👯 do a darebee challenge with a friend: this worked out and I am motivated to try again next month!
🎯 pick goals for the last 4 acro trainings: I'm happy with how this went, though at least during 1 training I could have tried a little harder to work on challenging things.

BONUS: spending time on journaling, bullet journal upkeep and rewriting my notes from Erasmus.
🏋 Back and Core Program: continue with this, slow but steady is fine.
BONUS: finishing it before the end of March
👯 darebee challenge with a friend: ask friends or familymembers when Lowerbody & Core is nearing it's end.
BONUS: ask at least one person who is double my age or older.

Stretch Goals for this month:
Go to 4 acro trainings
Go running 4 times
Go to the gym 4 times

Nice and challenging
But I did hurt one toe when I landed wrong, which sucks... :sus:

Going To Bed On Time Challenge ✅ (streak: 4)

No warmup in the morning, because I was unsure how much I should do with my foot.

This afternoon

Going To Bed On Time Challenge ✅ (streak: 5)

---------

This morning
Getting up at once: nope
Universal Warmup

This evening
Deadhang 1 minute
Standing Pilates Workout - 2 sets (with only a few very very carefull calf raises instead of 10 per set)
Deadhang 1 minute

--------

Lowerbody & Core Challenge on hold until further notice. Adapted planking is ok, but climbers definitely put too much strain on that toe joint right now.

Thinking about swapping my goal to go running against something like the Pushup Streak Challenge
