Another travel day after getting granddaughter onto her plane to Germany.

It was a ate night, getting to daughter’s condo in Portland with her at nearly 11pm, cleaning up, and trying to cool off the condo to sleep.🥵

AM- didn’t get to sleep until after midnight, due to long travel day, heat, late arrival to daughter’s condo, condo clean up, showers and trying to cool off. Woke up at 3ish with a headache, managed to sleep some more til 7am (PDT)

Another travel day with husb coming from his mom’s, the hour south to Portland this morning to fetch me. We will drive the 5 hours back to our home after we take daughter to bkfst for brief visit….

A good sized rock hit the windshield of our new car and left a chip with spidering just before before the first signal light coming into town. Grrrrr😣

Arrival home late afternoon, unpacking, calling mom in law & daughter, making easy dinner and trying to regroup….

Prepping to drive to Seattle today for my younger brother’s wedding.

Noonish- pick up stepson & his gf and drive 3 hours to Seattle.

PM- arrive to our hotel, rest a little, dress up and then drive to wedding venue. Lots of fun family visiting. It was a quick ceremony, then we drove to a waterfront restaurant where a big room was reserved for the reception/dinner. More visiting with my nephews (sons of both of my deceased older brothers).

Sleep can be so important. I am lucky that sleep is very rarely an issue (and if it does, it generally means something not good is brewing in my body, most often of the Irritable Colon kind) ; but I noted that since my heart surgery, I do need nearly one hour more of sleep, and sometimes 1h30 if I have been pushing it.

Sleep can be so important. I am lucky that sleep is very rarely an issue (and if it does, it generally means something not good is brewing in my body, most often of the Irritable Colon kind) ; but I noted that since my heart surgery, I do need nearly one hour more of sleep, and sometimes 1h30 if I have been pushing it.
In the last year, I’ve noticed that I don’t recover from travel, a hard workout, any major emotional stress UNLESS I either have 9-10 hours of sleep, OR get a 1+ hour nap during the day. It’s really remarkable how that 1+ hour additional affects my chronic pain issues, ability to concentrate, and ability to calm myself.
When I was younger, I had nightly trouble sleeping. Not any more. I have that problem sorted with a good sleep prep hygiene routine. Now, it seems like just allowing the adequate amount of TIME in the 24 hour day to get enough sleep is the larger issue🫣I hate to lose time, spend time, waste time “just” sleeping. But, it really is necessary to be the least worst person I can be. (Also known as the best person I can be🤪)

Even tho it is down, I am still quite snotty, sneezy, and stuffy. I think it was the cut grass, on Monday, which although my husb did the work, I apparently inhaled, regardless.😫😫😫
