A Gradual Rehearsal of Strength, We Begin Again

How have I not found this community before? I'm stoked.

Introduction:
I'm in my late 40s, plus size, and have been inactive for a few years. I am currently recovering from a frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) ... so painful. I have two teenage daughters that live with me full time. I work as an ESL teacher and editor. I'm also a writer. Previously I've leaned on P90X to quickly build strength for me but I don't think this phase of my life will allow it. I have a half Belgian Malinois (half mutt) dog and a tuxedo cat.

The Plan
I'm going to start with Foundation LIGHT to get moving. I might try level 3 and see how that feels as I've never been fully active. We'll see. I'll have to do some modifications due to my shoulder. I'd like to continue straight through with programs and develop that 30 days at a time.

Gauging "Success"
I'm not going to to weight myself. Of course I need to burn fat, but I find that to be such an irrelevant marker for health / fitness — for me. I want to be able to move freely and feel strong. This shoulder issue has made me lose a lot of strength, which is a first for me.

Ultimate goal
The ultimate goal would be to be ripped, but maybe more realistically I want to feel like I'm stronger and fitter and have more endurance than expected at my age. 1768693358207.png

Thanks again everyone!

Day two complete

Physio :v:
- my gimpy shoulder seems to be getting stronger (I've been doing physio longer than two days)

Workout :v:
- my arms are tired from seemingly simple exercises.
- raising my arm repeatedly made me feel like I'm trying to take off.
- squatting felt "easy"

Hello and welcome!
