My New Life

Hi bees,

So glad that Darebee and the community is still alive! I am starting a new life journey while keep fighting through some tough time in my life (made some significant steps already). Recently I started playing the board game Go, which I played for a while during middle school, again. Then I dearly wanted to start fitness again after almost 2 months of complete sedentary life, so I joined a boxing gym last week. Sitting there forever didn't feel nice.

Boxing was kinda fun. It took some courage to step into a boxing gym because I was afraid of getting hit. On the first day I didn't get into fight and things became less scary than I thought. Fights can be fun but I am probably using it as a way of getting fit and quality of life.

I am going to start the First Strike program today and also my second boxing lesson two hours later. The program looks a bit too easy but maybe it's just about right for me.

2 hour boxing/kickboxing/fitness
Arcade challenge, day 1, 220 points
50 hops, 40 side to side hops, 30 single leg hops
First Strike, day 1, lvl1

I am not sure if I need the program after the 2 hour boxing/kickboxing session today. It's much more tiring than last time. We practiced punches and kicks, as well as receiving the partner's attack with myself holding pads, and did push ups and crunches in between, then a mini session of physical fitness at the end of the lesson. It actually felt a lot like Darebee workouts, but at a 3 or 3.5 difficulty.

It honestly felt a bit too much today even though I was able to get through it. Taking attacks was more tiring than making it. My fingers were trembling afterwards while using my phone.

But the Arcade challenge is fun. I will probably keep this.

1) First Strike, day 2
2) Arcade challenge, day 2, 210 points:
110 hops, 20 side to side hops, 20 single leg hops
3) Mobility Matrix, the last two were challenging, but also a perfect mini workout in the morning

Did these in the morning, studied Go, and did some chores. Have never been so productive.

Day 3, Aug 19, 2026
1) First Strike, day 3, lvl3, did more jabs than what it said
2) Arcade challenge, day 3, 130 points:
70 hops, 30 side to side hops
3) Come Alive.

Morning workout with chores in between. Love the mini mobility/stretching workouts! Not sure if I will go boxing this evening. My thumb joint aches.
Thanks @aku-chan

Day 4, Aug 20, 2026

19129.png

1) First Strike, day 4
2) Arcade, day 4, 200 points:
60 hops, 40 side to side hops, 20 single leg hops
3) Mobility Matrix
4) 2 Minute Mobility, day 1
5) 60 climbers (Everest day1)
6) 7 basic burpees
7) 4 knee push ups, was able to go all the way down today.:worried: I rotated my elbow in as my boxing coach taught so that they were facing straightly backwards instead of outward. It actually became easier and I was really feeling it at the triceps as I came up.

Tried out a bunch of Darebee things, including one of my favorite challenges Everest. I set a fitness goal of 20 solid knee push ups in one go and 30 basic burpees in one go. Gonna build up towards classic burpees.

Had fun making those burpees count images, too.

Day 5, Aug 21, 2026

19179.png

Darebee:
1) First Strike, day 5, lvl3

5) Everest, day 2, 220 climbers (40, 40, 80, 60)

7) 12 basic burpees
:bored::bored::bored:

Day 6, Aug 22, 2026

19232.png
Too bad I had a drink tonight. These days I don't drink because I want a drink, but because someone else offers me or asks me out. I kinda hate that, but you can't prevent every one from doing such...

Darebee:
1) First Strike, day 6
2) Arcade, day 6, 200 points:
100 hops, 20 side-to-side hops, 20 single-leg hops
3) 2 Minute Mobility, day 3
4) Everest, day 3, 60 climbers
5) Unfold workout

Others:
6) 5 knee push ups in one go
I have been doing these on my fists, actullay, but mostly with a pair of gloves so it didn't get painful.

Same day:
7) 11 knee push ups (5+6) and 2 classic push ups, on the fists
8) Sandman workout

I had 1 drink tonight by accident. Afterwards I had to calm myself down so that it didn't become 2 3 4 5 drinks. I decided to busy my attention with some exercises which also tired me out so my crave would die, maybe.

So I did some more push ups till I really had enough of it, then drank some water, read something, did the Sandman workout which finally calmed me down. Now the strongest urge have passed but I still have to fight against this for the whole night. Fighting craves is never easy. :p

Plus yay I did a full push up on the fists! Even though the form got a bit off as I came up.

Fighting craves is never easy. :p

Plus yay I did a full push up on the fists!
1: It's not, yet you accomplished it and did so many productive and healthy things. That's awesome!

2: Double yay! Have a great day 😊

Day 7, Aug 23, 2026
19279.png

Darebee:
1) First Strike, day 7, lvl3, did more strikes than the workout
2) Arcade, day 7, 100 points: 100 hops
3) 2 Minute Mobility, day 4, 2 sets of 1 min arm circles
4) Everest, day 4, 240 climbers
5) Shaolin Morning Flow

Thank you @BrianD  Nowadays I do/eat/drink what I want or need as long as it helps me stay away from alcohol or simply makes me satisfied/ happy enough to not drink. Have no guilt for wanting XYZ.

Also trying to get less nice and more "tough." As long as I am not doing anything wrong if people are not happy about my behavior, that's their problem and I shouldn't feel bad about it. It's easier said than done, though.

Day 8, Aug 24, 2026
19346.png

Darebee:
1) First Strike, day 8, did 1 more set by accident
2) Arcade, day 8, 200 points: 80 hops, 40 single leg hops
3) 2 Minute Mobility, day 5
4) Everest, day 5, 60 climbers
5) Come Alive (made it harder)

Others:
6) 2 hour boxing
7) 30 basic burpees, pushed myself on the burpees today, though the boxing was pretty exhausting.
:bored: :bored::bored:

Day 9, 26 Aug 2026
19413.png

Darebee:
1) First Strike, day 9, lvl3
2) Arcade, day 9, 210 points: 130 hops, 40 side to side hops
3) 2 Minute Mobility, day 6
4) Everest, day 6, 280 climbers (100, 100, 80)
5) Sandman

Others:
6) 2 hour boxing
7) 18 basic burpees

Took a break yesterday.

Day 10, 27 Aug, 2026
Darebee:
1) First Strike, day 10
2) Arcade, day 10, 100 points: 100 hops in a row
3) 2 Minute Mobility, day 7
4) Everest, day 7, 60 climbers
5) Morning Stretching

Need to drop the burpees. It's becoming too much for me recently.

Just did a mini special: 15 classic push-ups on the fists with padded gloves.

It's 13 sets of 1 push up with 1 min rest between sets, and 2 more right before the workout. The whole thing lasted about 15 mins.

My body leaned towards the right side a bit for the last few push ups but my form didn't collapse much, so I guessed it was a good one for me, not so easy but not too hard either.

Day 11, 28 Aug, 2026
Darebee:
1) First Strike, day 11, lvl2
2) Arcade, day 11, 200 points: 2x100 hops
3) 2 Minute Mobility, day 8
4) Everest, day 8, 320 climbers: 100, 120, 100
5) Morning Stretching

Others:
6)2 hour boxing, first time trying battle ropes

Day 12, 29 Aug, 2026
Darebee:
1) First Strike, day 12 and day 13, lvl3, practiced 2 more sets of kicks
2) Arcade, day 12, 300 points: 3x100 hops
3) 2 Minute Mobility, day 9
4) Everest, day 9, 60 climber
5) Daily Flexibility

Front kick is hard, especially when you find out you can't really straighten your legs.

Day 14, 30 Aug, 2026
Darebee:
1) Arcade, day 14, 100 points: 50 side to side hops
2) 2 Minute Mobility, day 11
3) Everest, day 11

Others:
4) 2 hour boxing
5) Lat pull down machine, 3 sets of 10 reps, 60, 50, 50 lbs, 1 min rest between sets

I think I am done today, so tired. :bored::bored: Did a lot of kicks today, and then tried the lat pull down machine after the training session.

I didn't even google how to use the machine, so my form probably wasn't perfect, but I tried to use my back muscles to do the movement and I could feel it. I was weaker than I expected... I thought I could do like 70, and yes I did but couldn't pull it all the way down or I felt like my triceps were helping at the end in order to pull the rod down more, which sounded weird?

And my neck was quite tensed when I did 70, that's what told me I had to dial down, so I went from that to 60, then 50. My neck was still tensing but the level felt more realistic, at least.

The intensity of boxing training was rising, too...

Day 15, 1 Sept, 2026
Darebee:
1) Arcade, day 15, 200 points: 200 hops
2) 2 Minute Mobility, day 12
3) Everest, day 12, 3x120, 100
4) Limitless workout

Legs were tired from yesterday.

Day 16, 2 Sept, 2026
Darebee:
1) First Strike, day 15, lvl1
2) Arcade, day 16, 200 points: 200 hops in a row
3) 2 Minute Mobility, day 13
4) Everest, day 13
5) 10 mins EMOM:
5x3, classic knuckle push ups, in padded gloves
5x5 knee knuckle push ups, most with hand wraps
40 push ups in total

Push ups progressed faster than I expected.

Day 18, 4 Sept, 2026
Darebee:
1) First Strike, day 17, lvl3
2) Arcade, day 18, 200 points: 200 hops
3) 2 Minute Mobility, day 15
4) Everest, day 15

Damn, I think I did day 17 of First Strike all wrong. I did the kicks just according to what I learned from the gym... which I later realized to be different from what the pic/video here showed

Day 19, 5 Sept, 2026
Darebee:
1) First Strike, day 18
2) Arcade, day 19, 300 points: 300 hops
3) 2 Minute Mobility, day 16
4) Everest, day 16, 150, 100, 200, 90
5) 2 Minute Mobility workout
6) Wake up Mobility workout
7) Push ups:
5, 4, 3, 3 classic knuckle push ups in 5 mins
10, 10, 8, 5, 5 knee knuckle push ups in another 5 mins
53 push ups in total plus several decline
Some upper stretches
8) Hollow Hold Master

Day 21, 7 Sept, 2026
Darebee:
1) First Strike, day 19, lvl2
2) Arcade, day 21, 100 points: 10 hops, 30 Single leg hops
3) 2 Minute Mobility, day 18
4) Everest, day 18
5) Come Alive
Others:
6) 1:45 boxing class
7) Lat pulldown, 1 set of 8 reps 30lbs, 3 sets of 8 reps 40 lbs,

I kinda hit my push up record during the boxing, fisrt set, also the best set, to be 4 full push ups + 4 knee push ups.

For Fisrt Strike, I watched a Darebee Video on turning kicks versus side kicks, and I realized that I probably did turning kicks on the side kicks day 2 days ago. That's why I thought it didn't feel right 2 days ago about what I did. My gym haven't really taught side kicks...

Day 23, 9 Sept, 2026
Darebee:
1) First Strike, day 21, lvl2
2) Arcade, day 23, 200 points: 140 hops, 20 single leg hops
3) 2 Minute Mobility, day 20
4) Everest, day 19

Home boxing workout, sequence:
A. Jab and Cross Practice:
1) 30 jabs + 30 crosses with resistance band, 5 full push ups + 5 knees;
2) 20 jabs + 20 crosses with band, 4 full push ups + 6 knees;
3) 50 jab+cross combos with band, 15 sit ups with 4lbs weight

B. Hook Practice:
1) 30 hooks + 30 back hooks with band, 4 push ups + 6 knees;
2) 20 hooks + 20 back hooks with band, 10 knee push ups;
3) 50 hook+back hook combo with band, 15 sit ups with weight + a few leg raises/ reverse crunches

C. Uppercut Practice:
1) 30 uppercut + 30 back uppercut with band, 4 push ups + 6 knees
2) 20 uppercut + 20 back uppercut with band, 10 knee push ups
3) 50 uppercut+back uppercut combos with band, about 20 sit ups with weight with some of the reps rolling toward the sides

D) More Punching Practice (No Band):
100 jab+cross, 50 hook+back hooks, 50 uppercut+back uppercut

Total from the workout:
1000 punches
60 knuckle push ups
(17 classics + 43 knees)
50 sit ups with 4lbs weight
A couple reps of other ab exercises

I decided to practice punches at home today because of my ankle, which was fine but I was not taking risks. I had a lot more control when working out at home.

With the band the use of my abs and butt felt more obvious as I punched, also whether or not the ab and butt were in sync during the movement. It's not just because I wanted to add resistance.

Day 24, 10 Sept, 2026
Darebee:
1) First Strike, day 22
2) Arcade, day 24, 100 points: 10 hops, 30 single leg hops
3) 2 Minute Mobility, day 21
4) Everest, day 20
5) Mobility Matrix

Others:
6) Hand gripper, 4 sets of 10, 60 secs rest between sets, per side, +20 more per side. Let's see how far I can go

I found the 1000 punches practice yesterday to be pretty effective. I tried a few punches today and was doing significantly less unnecessary movement ;) such as pulling my elbow backward before executing the hook, or lowering my body too much for the uppercut. Plus 1000 was cool.

Day 25, 11 Sept, 2026
Darebee:
1) First Strike, day 23, lvl2
2) Arcade, day 25, 210 points: 70 single leg hops
3) 2 Minute Mobility, day 22
4) Everest, day 21

Others:
6) 1:45 boxing
7) Lat pulldown
warmup set: 30lbs, 10 reps
Set1, 40lbs 10 reps
Set2, 20lbs 10 reps
Set3, 30lbs 10 reps
Set4, 40lbs 10 reps
Set4, 50lbs 10 reps

I felt my neck and shoulder tensing when I attempt 40 at the first set Then I dialed down to 20 to see how it felt, and it went well, so I decided to move up the weigtht while keep trying to keep my neck relaxed. Eventually I got up to 50, which was a bit too much but that's okay.

Day 26, 12 Sept, 2026
Darebee:
1) First Strike, day 24
2) Arcade, day 26, 300 points: 60 hops, 80 single leg hops
3) 2 Minute Mobility, day 23
4) Everest, day 22

Others:
5) Knuckle plank: 3x20secs, 40 secs rest
6) Forearm: 15 pronation + 15 hammer curls with band, 4 sets, 1 min rest (per side)
7) Gripper (per side) : 4x15, 1 min rest, +3 sets of 12 later on, 96 in total
8) Legs/hamstring (1 or 2 min rest between sets)
a) Nordic curl, 2 sets of 3 5-count hold, 2 sets of 3 10-count hold
b) Single leg bridge, 2 sets of 15/15
c) 1 set of 10 deadlift and 3 sets of 6/6 single leg deadlift.

There are so many things on my list now! The Nordic curl was so intense that I didn't warmup and the hamstring cramped when I counted to 4 during the first hold.

I could feel my hamstrings working in the bridge and single leg deadlift afterward, also for the first time moving my foot further away from the butt which activated the hamstring for the movement. I feel like my legs gonna shake tomorrow...

Day 28, 14 Sept, 2026
Darebee:
1) First Strike, day 25, lvl1
2) Arcade, day 28, 100 points: 100 hops
3) 2 Minute Mobility, day 25

Others:
4) Forearm (per side) band exercise:
3x15 pronation, 3x15 supination,
3x15 reverse curl, 3x15 wrist curl
1 min rest between sets, 2 min between exercises
5) Gripper (per side):
Morning: 3x15, 1min rest
Evening: 20, 20, 10, 1min rest
(95 in total per side)
6) Back:
3x10 band lat pulldown, 3x10 horizontal band rows, 3x10 band rows from the ground, 2 min rest mostly

Too tired today for boxing... and my hamstring DOMS hit this morning, so it's 36 hours after the exercises from Sat. Good news is I still managed to keep the back exercise going.

Day 29, 15 Sept, 2026
Darebee:
1) First Strike, day 26
2) Arcade, day 29, 200 points: 20 hops, 60 single leg hops
3) 2 Minute Mobility, day 26
4) Everest, day 24

Others:
4) Legs:
a) Nordic Curl, 3 sets of 3 falls, 3 min rest
b) Single leg deadlifts 3 sets of 10/10 holding weight vest, 2min rest
c) Holding weight vest: split squats (1 set of 10/10) + getting up from sitting on the heel to a kneeling pose (2 sets of 10)

I found the split squats to be a bit too much by the time, so I changed to the get up exercise, which was actually a pretty good quad exercise.

I think there's a sort of novelty in the Nordic Curl. You keep falling/failing, getting back up, and repeat. It's not just random falling. You put effort in it every time until you can't go further. It will probably take me couple hundred falls before I can achieve the full thing.

New structure and goal of each: :cantcope:

KNUCKLE PUSH UPS and PLANK
Goal: Long-term improvement in the exercises

BACK
Goal: Achieve Pull up

NORDIC CURL, LEGS
Goal: Achieve Nordic Curl, stronger legs in general

FOREARM and GRIP
Goal: larger Forearms, improve gripper performance

OTHERS:
Other stuff

This is going to make the progress record more clear. I will log the daily workout according to this method from now on.

FOREARM and GRIP
Adjustable Gripper: lvl1 53 reps per side; lvl1.5 3x5/5 2mins rest

OTHERS:
First Strike, day 27, lvl1

The Nordic curl was super taxing and I had to avoid leg exercises especially movements that involved extending the knees, or I did them very carefully, slowly, softly like the climbers and the kicks. Couldn't even stretch. Had to stay home and no boxing, too. :(

E) OTHERS:
1. First Strike, day 28, 29, 30, lvl2 :completed:

Time reason I had to finish the program today otherwsie there would probably be a 2 or 3 day break between day 29 and 30... I rather just finish it early.
