The Watcher's Eye:

The focal point of this room immediately obvious - the large crystal eye was impossible to miss as it was the only thing in the room and it glowed eerily. The moment I stepped into the room, it turned and I swear it focused on me. The air began to up as I began to hallucinate - seeing visions of this place being built and of the horned guardians, whom I've seen a few times now, swearing themselves to the duty. I saw the rooms as they developed and even how they changed over time and between individuals passing through. I bore witness to the history of the Labyrinth and I endured. When it was over, I breathed a sigh of relief and I took the door to the right (down on the map), knowing it lead to a dead end. The visions stayed with me as I traveled between rooms and I felt a certain understanding and warmth towards the Labyrinth settling in.

The Wall of Ash:

I didn't walk into a room, but rather a terminus of the corridor. The wall before me and only that wall was scorched black and ash fell around like grey snow, falling from nowhere and vanishing as it hit the floor. I reached through and pressed my hand to the wall, leaving a perfect handprint that glowed at me. Then I noticed some deep etchings emerge from the soot, or they might have been there all along and I only now noticed. Each set of etchings was a name - Seirios, Sirius, Cyrius, Cyrus, etc., each a close rendering of my name over and over again, but not mine. I traced my fingers over the letters of one and it glowed and vanished. I continued on, until no name remained. The ash flew into the wall, as if magnetized to the surface like iron fillings. It appeared to be sealed and no new way opened. I turned back, as my ending has not yet been written, but I reflected up on the lessons of fire the whole way back through and up to the next room.

The Shifting Floor:

My musings were over the second I entered this room and the floor jolted under my feet, snapping me back into the present. The floor lifted, shifted, and fell away in a series of patterns and after a few cautious moments watching, I began my traversal of the room. I scrambled across dangerous blocks to reach the safer ones before the fell away under me, bracing myself against every slide and tremor. I even crawled along the shifting blocks to minimize my time on this trap, until I eventually reached the exit, a gloriously stable block where I rested for a second to catch my breath before moving on.

The Drowning Gate:

Clearly, I am destined to not remain dry for long in the Labyrinth, as I found myself in a room that started flooding the moment I came in. The room filled quickly to my ankles as I noticed that there were no obvious points of draining. I ran over to the door and found it unwilling to move. The machinery of the heavy stone and metal door groaned in protest from years of disuse. I pulled on levers with all my might and as each fell into place, fighing me the whole way, a new symbol blazed to life on the door. The water was nearly at my chin as the final lever settled into place and I was swept into the corridor, over the drain plates and deposited on the stone ground. I wrung myself out and moved along, anxious to be away from the room that tried to drown me.

My arms are super tired! Lol, I'll be okay, I think that finally stopping the mad dash for push-ups is having an effect. I just couldn't bring myself to do the up & down planks, so I'll tackle them and my long run through the Labyrinth tomorrow (if I've counted correctly, I've got to traverse 8 rooms after I do node 18 to get to node 28). I will also have fencing practice tomorrow morning, so I going to sneak in the up & down planks (and the rest of the node, of course) before and I am fully accepting of level 1, but I'm going to aim for level 2. I'll probably do everything else in the afternoon, including the long traverse.

As for my day, it was pretty quiet. The garage door opener is finally replaced, I got allergy shots, and I got some more progress made on my china cabinet reorganization and cleaning. :tuzki-hero:

I started out okay, but that meeting started in the shade, but the shade moved and before I knew it, I was out of water and sitting in the sun for far longer than I had planned. And it was lunchtime by the time I left. I had a terrible headache and I am pretty sure I got dehydrated. I just tried to focus on rehydrating for the rest of the day.

It was a very interrupted workout, so I broke it into blocks. I was baking cookies, planning and ordering dinner, and had a phone call with my sister. But that's okay. I listened to my audiobook while working out, so that helped me to take it as slowly as I needed and kept my mind busy while I worked. Bonus, I am almost done listening to Mort. And, honestly, I got through way more than I expected to do this evening. I even did the dreaded up and down planks.

Overall, it was a not so awesome day. I woke up hungry and with a headache before the 12hour fast was up. The headache stopped around 3pm, but I'm still feeling a bit tired. I'll be starting it late tonight because it's just before 7pm and dinner isn't here, so that'll be not so fun tomorrow having to wait a little later to eat. But at least I don't have work tomorrow, so I can try to sleep a little later. Lol, probably not.

Early workout today. I wanted to beat the sore feet from cooking, which is also the plan today. I'll fill in my box scores when I come back with my still owed items.

Evening update: The day didn't really go 100% to plan today, but I'm actually okay with that. I got what I needed to do done and I even ran some needed errands with M. Hopefully all the things go back to normal here soon. My life is weird right now.

:bat: :pumpkin: Stay safe and watch out for ghosties! :ghost: :reaper:

The Shattered Ceiling:

I ran into the room without a care and I got instantly coated in a down pour of stone dust. Yuck, now I was wet and covered in stone. Around me, stones and more dust fell. The floor wasn't better off as parts of it were collapsing and falling away into the inky depths of the Labyrinth. Well, it looks like I ran out of the pan and into the fire. I spotted the door out across the room and I stopped worrying about falling in and instead focused on each step. There was not much thought or time for it, so I ran like my life depended on it, because it did. I dove through the door on the other side just as the room collapsed behind me, forever keeping its secrets. Surely the next room won't immediately try to kill me... right?

The Hall of Mirrors:

I had taken a moment in the hallway to clean myself up as best I could before I stepped into the next room. Which was full of mirrors and I did my best to not look at just how rough I was. But I did and it wasn't long before the mirror pulled it's trick. Reflected in the depths, I now saw every version of me that my mind would try to tell me I was in my weakest moments.
"Too small"
"Too fat"
"Too short"
"Too weak"
"Too slow"
"Unfocused"
"Weird"
"Know-it-all"
"Nerd"
These voices echoed around and around my head, taunting me and driving their barbs deeper and hasher. Every harsh thing I'd hurt was reflected and whispered back at me and it was nearly unbearable. I closed my eyes and straightened my back. I would not give in. I know my self worth is far more than any of those things, no matter if they are true or not. I walked through the room, believing in myself and when I reached the end, the exit appeared and I was very happy to leave the room.

Travelling Interlude:

I was so perturbed by the last three rooms that I walked back to room 1. I stared around the empty room blankly for a moment, wondering why the grand entrance doors looked so familiar. I sat down and pulled out my map and filled in the last few rooms. Okay, now I see what happened. I had returned to start. I decided that node 7 was the next way to look for the key and I walked back the way I came (which was not the shortest path) to find that The Hall of Mirrors no longer had anything to say and that the Shattered Ceiling now was completely empty room and I turned right (down on the map) to find myself back in The Forgotten Shrine. I turned and continued on to the next unexplored room.

The Beast's Den:

Instead of taking a nice break before entering this room, I just walked right in. The past four rooms of quiet must have set me off my game, because I was not ready when the massive hound jumped out of the shadows at me. I shrieked as I dodged away from where I had been. It began to circle me and lunge at me. I dodged and I weaved as I drove it back towards the one and only empty brazier of many on the wall. It was made of sparks and fire, so I thought that maybe I could capture it's essence or something with the brazier. I got it positioned correctly and I jumped for the chain, pulling with all my might. It fell off the wall right into the beast and it vanished in a flurry of sparks. The doors unlocked and I scampered off, deciding to hang out in the hallway for a rest.

The Sentinels' Walk:

A solemn silence filled this room and I remembered reading about this room in my research as well. My fore knowledge helped me immensely in avoiding any missteps as I moved through the room with control and patience. Each time a guardian looked at me, I held my place and just breathed. When they looked away for a moment, I made my move. It took forever to cross the room, but once I had, I faced the final statue and I bowed deeply. As one, the spears raised and I left the room, glad to rest my sore muscles and even more glad that I had done some research before coming here.

The Word in Stone:

Just a side note: I really like the play on words here - The Word in Stone instead of The Sword in the Stone, it makes me giggle.

This room was curious and it took me a moment to suss out what going on. There was a sentence to complete and a number of possible blocks to put into place. As I worked on the puzzle, the room murmured in words that were no language that I could decipher and the room trembled. It felt impatient, but I didn't let it hurry me before I had the solution worked out. I moved the blocks WAY, HEART, and COURAGE until they each locked into place in their proper positions in the sentence: "The WAY is chosen by the HEART, and only COURAGE can carry you to its' end." Well, my way around has mostly been chosen by a die, but I understand what was meant. I walked out of the room, once again feeling like the real treasure of this place was what I learned about myself more than anything I could possibly find here.

The Root Snarl:
While I was getting ready to move on to this room from the hallway, another adventurer came along. I recognized her from earlier and I invited her to use my camping spot. We talked as I got ready to move on and she settled in. I left with a warm feeling of companionship and happiness that I still wasn't alone in the Labyrinth.

The warmth stayed with me as I entered the room, which was hard to see through because of all the roots extending down from the ceiling. It was also treacherous to move through standing due to the roots coming out of the floor. I dropped to the floor and I moved along on all fours as I found that some of the roots wanted to trip me, others disintegrated under my touch, and a few would maintain my weight upon them. They were slick and sappy and slimy, but it was worth it to keep from falling. The deeper I got, the darker it got and the tighter the roots wound around me. I climbed and crawled and after crossing a grand chasm, I found a door and I was glad to leave the forest behind me.

I travelled back through many rooms that were either muted versions of what I passed through initially or were completely empty, devoid of the dangers that I had faced. I travelled until I reached the passage between nodes 33 and 28, finally on narrowing down the location of the key.

The Fire Walk:

When I was ready, I stepped into this room and I felt like I was outside in the middle of summer back home... but worse. At home, it was the brilliant sun, humidity without the relief of rain, and the hot winds that made my desert home so punishing. Here, there was literally fire and the best that I could liken it to is a furnace. Jets of flame burst and it wasn't until I watched it for a few moments, contemplating how to get by, that I realized there was a rhythm. I took my time moving between the bursts, making sure I had the timing of every move perfectly planned. I knew the heat was dangerous in the long term, but it was no reason to rush through and risk myself. I moved like clockwork until the very end, where I dashed forward and I pulled the lever. The gate unlocked and the torches lost their intensity. I didn't stay, but I moved in towards the penultimate room, knowing that it was here, that the key was here, before I even reached the room.

:teatime: And there we go! Caught up with only two nodes left in the program.

The Sealed Tomb:

A sarcophagus?! Totally one of the top things I think are scary in movies are mummies. But it was already cracked open, so I probably wasn't the first here. I swallowed my fear and I stepped closer to it, inspecting the etching on the bands while keeping one eye on the opening. A line of text glowed across the band and I thought back at the locked doors. They did appear to have a sun on a horizon motif and that could totally be the Dawn, right? Regardless, I needed the Seal and that could only be inside the sarcophagus. After a few moments of hesitation, I stuck my hand inside and immediately found a cold, stone disk inside. I extracted it and I would have started inspecting it, but dust began to swirl in the room. I got to the floor quickly, though if that was my choice or the result of the storm, I couldn't tell you. I crawled through the storm, my shirt over my mouth and nose, all the while the dust, wind, and the unintelligible whispers assailed me and my senses. After some time, it abated and I could see that the sarcophagus was now closed to me. Interesting. I bowed to it, feeling a reverence rushing through me. It took something from me, but what I have gained here in this Labyrinth is just as powerful. I carried the Seal with me back through the Labyrinth until I found myself in the hallway, just outside of the final room. I took the time to rest, for surely this would be my greatest trial yet.

Just putting it out there, I did not intend to try do everything today. It just kinda happened.

It's been another quiet day, puttering around. Which is nice because we got to spend our anniversary together. We did get some cleaning and purging done today and it felt really good! Now, if only my coffee maker had been working. That would have been nice.

The Dawn:

After resting in the hallway and collecting myself, I finally felt ready to finish up this adventure. My superiors have been pressuring me to finish my other simulations as well as setting me out on another one. But this one has a special place in my heart because it makes you really think about why you are doing what you are doing. It makes you dig deep mentally and emotionally, and I really loved that. Plus, it had puzzles. I love puzzles.

I warmed myself up and stepped up to the final archway, which was illuminated by a golden light. A barrier rose up as I drew too close, blocking my way with stone and fire. Extruding from the stone was a raised spiral, looking like it would fit precisely in the grooves of my black disk. I ran my thumb over the etched surface of the disk one more time before placing it on the barrier, rotating it until it clicked perfectly into place. I pressed it in and the key and barrier flashed and disappeared without a trace. The flames were gone and the golden light of a new dawn fell upon me. As I moved through the room, it grew around me until the light was all I saw and the shadows were gone. When I ran out of the Labyrinth, I looked around at the landscape and the sky and I smiled widely and sat on the ground, reveling in the feeling of being free. Dirty, tired, but free.

I exited the simulation pod and I could feel the affects of my efforts from the Labyrinth. It was truly amazing tech, stimulating the muscles that you were using so that your progress translated into real life. Nothing replaced my daily efforts in reality, but I loved the RPG programs. I looked hungrily at the selections for Carbon & Dust, Shadebound, & The Spartan Trials and promised myself that I would come for each of them soon. I took off for home and M, happy with what I had learned and glowing from completing the newest program.
=================
I felt like it was time for a new avatar today. Armored Syrius will eventually come back around, because I do love that avatar. But this month I feel like I'm doing a lot of tinkering and cleaning around my house, and I've had this one just lying around and it felt right. I'll probably change it again in November when I go on my writing expedition.

Which I think I've hit on my idea for this year's NaNoWriMo. It could be interesting, so I've been just trying to think about the theme/idea without really committing too much to paper, just to let my mind stew on it before I leap in. I think I really want magic this time. I like writing about it, I just need to think about my rules and how/why it works.

No Pathfinder today, I thought it would be too much for me to push on the ankle. I think that I will sub with a bike ride tomorrow. I was thinking maybe a 20m HIIT and Hills or a Rolling Hills (if I'm lower energy) to match with the difficulty. This should also circumvent the ankle issue. I did want to hit up Ronin's Blade, but I was running out of time. I'm going to get to it tomorrow, possibly twice (I see that meditation on day 27!). It's my next finish it focus. I have reached my personal goal for 50 Push-ups, which was to get 25 full in a row or better. I'll take whatever I get on day 30 and be proud of the progress I've made! Sorry for not getting all my finish days nicely lined up for all at once, but I am doing my best to clean out my backlog. I am doing my best to be better about not creating such a backlog from here on out.

The Labyrinth Feedback: I love love love this program. There is just so much to do and every turn you take leads to a new place and a new surprise. My writing about it actually made me think about how I have changed over my fitness journey, so I feel like I benefitted a little extra from it. But I really feel like it was a well-executed adventure. I also really enjoyed running into my fellow adventurers in there! It was an extra level of coolness and thank you for sharing the map @NightTigress! I felt that added an extra level as well and I really like seeing how everyone else was travelling through. :lovelots:

you're very welcome, I enjoyed creating it

Wait, it was all a simulation?
No, no it's not.

Lol, I was thinking back to when I finished Age of Pandora and I had been writing about that one too. I carried off as if I had come off a simulation pod then, and I kept writing for a while, so I decided to link it back up to that. But that was back in the previous forum.

Okay, that's it for right now. If I do anything else later, after my body stops feeling shaky, I'll post again and update boxes. I decided that the only thing I had to do today was ride my bike because I think I need a bit of a rest. I didn't even go for the harder ride, but what I did was enough. I had sprints and I had both resistance and cadence pushes, so it was challenging without being so intense that I couldn't make it through. I'm okay, I just need to let myself rest a bit. I've been hitting it hard, so I am okay with this result. :)

Update: I meditated, so I'm going to count that towards RB d27.

:rstar: Ronin's Blade r2 26 - Clearing some branches & playing fetch with Erebus
20 jumping jacks, 20 knee push-ups, & 20 negative calf raises - full push-ups were just too much this early in the morning today. I'm going to table 50 Push-ups until Sunday.

I may come back later for a challenge catch up session & maybe a bonus point, but we'll see. I'm hoping for a nice day and getting some stuff done.

Bam, I totally did come back for some extra work! Today has been a somewhat quiet day. I've gotten some chores done and I'm currently baking up some cookies for D&D. Well, technically, they are in their chill time, but they'll be in the oven in an hour!

I declared today a "Do what you want to" day. Yeah, I know I am just putting myself another day behind on whatever daily challenges/Pathfinder I don't do and that I only have 2 days left on 3 things, but this is what I need today and ultimately, that is what is more important. I don't know if I'll come back and do anything else. But I was really desiring a ride today, so that is what I did. I was originally intending to do a pure HIIT ride, but this is a new type of class and I took a chance to try it out. I think it may have just become a new favorite.

I got a little bit more into the snacks than usual, but that's okay. It's not like it happens every day and besides, I burned some serious calories on that ride today. Overall, it was a quiet and peaceful day.

Totally more important to do what you need, great choice! The workouts are there to serve us, not the other way around.

Also, a late congratulations for finishing the Labyrinth!

Alright, so Monday totally sucked. I had a migraine and it didn't really get better until the sun went down. So, all I did was GQHC as I was brushing my teeth for bed.

:bat: :pumpkin: Stay safe and watch out for ghosties! :ghost: :reaper:

@graoumia Thank you! I am feeling much better today. Yesterday, I was one with the couch, spending most of the day doing chainmail while doing as little moving as possible. So, I made decent progress on my chainmail dice bags, which I call a win. I've done GQHC during teeth brushing a lot and it just works out nicely.

Tuesday, 14 October Wins: 358 days
Steps: 6,625/5,270

Quick Warmup
:rstar: Ronin's Blade r2 29 - I sided with the dragon, but only because the kitsune's 180° spins make me feel some kind of way. Lol, I think I made the same choice last time.
:rstar: 50 Push-ups 29 - from my knees and I would be happy to not see another push-up plank ever again.
:rstar: Squats r2 29
1000 Calf Raises rn 12
:rstar: 50 Push-ups 30 25f/25k :completed: - Okay, I did not in fact do 50 full push-ups in a row, but as I stated previously, I can do 50 knee push-ups in a row, so my goal during this challenge was to convert as many to full in a row as I could with a goal of 25 and that was what I accomplished. I am satisfied.
1000 Calf Raises rn 13 & 14 - Caught up!
:rstar: Ronin's Blade r2 30 - siding with the kitsune! :completed:
Punch Up! 12 - Really, the 2m ones do become a dance party :epicdance:
20 jumping jacks & 20 negative calf raises
:rstar: Squats r2 30 :completed:

Okay, so I wore an ankle compression sock with strap today and it seemed to help a little with ankle stabilization. After doing bouncing, it is still unhappy, but it did feel better on the whole. I'll have to see how I respond with it on the next time I do high knees (maybe I'll work something in tomorrow to that affect).

I just had to finish them today. I wanted that win too badly. I calculate that I can earn 12 more carryover points this month from 30DoY and now I have to do it as it is the only thing that can satisfy it in the boxes. Once I complete that, I will convert it to no-counts. I am happy because now I have more wiggle room with incorporating more random cards in so I can try out some new things that I have been eyeing and stealing from people's logs. I have 9 tabs hanging around in my browser to that effect.

Today was a much better day on the whole. The migraine seems to have dissipated and I am just happy to be able to workout well today. I do need to work on getting more vigorous minutes a week, but I think I have a plan for that. I'm going to start doing more bike rides (maybe like twice a week?) and that should help boost my numbers. I might pick up a program on Peloton to encourage me on that front, but I need to do some looking around before I commit. Plus get Pathfinder caught up.

And I did see the weight loss doc today. Intermittent fasting seems to be doing something and she approved of me starting with 12/12 and is encouraging me to do 13/11, which is what I've been doing about half the time anyway. So, that is something positive. But I've been bad with my fats and its showing. So, I'll need to pay more attention to that. Don't mind the mochi's I'm about to enjoy. I'll start tracking and paying better attention tomorrow.

I may not do multiple bonus workouts to count this way because then I might introduce a path to overdoing it.

Today, I did more work around the house. I finished cleaning and putting away the crystal and did some of the glassware in the cabinet as well. But now my feet hurt. I think the tile in my kitchen just doesn't agree with my feet. Or I just did too much at once. IDK. I've also been bloated all day and now that the bloat has decreased, I have a minor headache from video game induced nausea. It'll go away fairly quickly once I go relax. But it means I'm just not doing a lot today in the workout department.

I fell down a rabbit hole cleaning today and I ended up getting lost for 3 hours labeling my chainmail materials. It is immensely satisfying that everything is now easily labeled for usage and reordering purposes. So, I got to things a little later than I planned, but I had a satisfactory workout today. I am planning an early workout tomorrow, so hopefully everything works out.

Intermittent fasting for 14.5 hours was really tough this morning. I had to wait for M for breakfast, which it was longer than I had planned, but I am seeing that getting to 16/8 may be very hard. I'm currently planning to ramp up to 13/11, as it is what I've been doing half the time anyway. M has been really great about helping me with the whole "I need to be done eating at 1900" thing. He's been really great about it, even though he isn't doing it himself.

Last night was a terrible, no good, can't sleep night. Both M and I were absolutely wired for sound and just couldn't sleep by like midnight. So, we both got up and went out and watched some TV on the couch. Got hungry around 2am and then ended up cleaning out the pantry. A little after 3am, I finally was tired and went back to bed and passed out. And slept until after 9. So, I was all messed up today. My energy is all messed up and I just did what I could to get through.

And then I forgot to post this yesterday. So, I added in the meditation and here it is.

Another terrible night for sleep. I went to bed around 11pm and I read, I meditated, I listened to rain sounds, and I had the GABA destress gummies that help make me sleep (because melatonin just doesn't do it for me). NOTHING WORKED. I fell asleep around 0130am this morning. M thinks I am just stressed and anxious. But he's feeling sick and I think I've got some congestion going on. So, maybe I'm also getting sick and it's messing with my sleep? IDK. :crawl:Another opinion I got is that maybe my allergies might be acting up, so I'm going to try some allergy meds and hopefully something might help. :gime:

P (Sam) - 10m Halloween Arms & Light Weights - Peloton Halloween Badge progress 4/10 - ***Strength Point*** - I argued with myself about awarding this, but TBH, in the end it is essentially the same as doing a strength card with weights, just on a different platform, following a video. Phew, I actually slept last night. The combo of good hydration, good sleep, and an allergy med seems to have knocked out whatever was going on yesterday.

I saw the run, so I popped over to the Peloton for a ride and discovered the Halloween Badge, so I'll be grinding out a few more things to earn that.

Overall, it was another quiet day. I got my niece's stocking's top stitching finally finished today, so now I just need a functional sewing machine and I can finish it up. The kitties were fascinated by the open window again. It's funny how quickly they swarm me when they hear me opening it up.
