@Maegaranthelas @Mamatigerj

The craft room has been a trial. We finished putting together the new cupboard a month ago and I have been very, very slowly rehoming things into it. It is a little overwhelming, so I am making a point of trying to put 1 thing away every day during the weekend. Usually, it ends up being more than one thing, but it is helping with making me work the task without letting the enormity of it overwhelming me.

My energy was almost back to normal. I tricked myself into a halfway decent workout by telling myself that I could watch my show on the bike. I am planning on getting back to Momentum et al. tomorrow. I just had to recover from both the weird time shift last week and the monthly inconvenience.

:sendinglove: Keep on being awesome and I'll catch you next time!

I think I should probably invest a little time in removing stuff from my crafts room that don't actually belong or have a purpose anymore.
Then I could try to organise some of the other stuff that floating about and only have fabric strewn around in boxes, instead of everything.
Actually making it through my WiP pile would also help because half-finished projects take up a lot of space :chuckle:

Okay, so it wasn't Momentum. But, it was the workout I needed. I gotta stop being so jumping-jack shy!! If I don't have DOMs in my legs tomorrow, I am going to do it! I can do jumping jacks, by golly, and I will!! :tude:

On the topic of craft rooms, @Maegaranthelas, I am also trying to purge as I go. I haven't thrown much out so far, but I am counting it just the same as if I had rehomed something. Because every little bit counts. And I am currently hiding from my WIPs. I have more than a few and I am currently taking a break from my WIP clean up, because that is pretty much all I worked on last year. I am currently cross-stitching a fairy (new project that I started this month) and it doesn't look like much yet.

20250321_070252 (1).jpg Erebus, trying to help stitch

:sendinglove: Keep on being awesome and I'll catch you next time!

I have recently been very tempted to get into cross stitch... One day I will give in to that temptation xD

I decided to take a few days to try and make a new trousers pattern. I found out I messed up my old one somehow (after having cut the fabric already, of course) and if I am being truly honest, that one only fit due to my massive pockets. So I am attempting a proper pattern and trying not to get sad from the mock-up stage where everything looks horrible :')

Erebus is so helpful!

I thoroughly enjoy cross stitch. It's very relaxing to me and it's one of the things I can sit and do for hours, even when I have a migraine. Doing the top detail work that I have WIPs for, that is harder somehow. But cross stitch really just feels like paint by numbers with thread.

I also like needlepoint but it's harder to find patterns for that.

Here's my current project so far:
1000007334.jpg

It's a Dimensions kit called Wind Moon Fairy. I've found my way from center to the left edge, which is weirdly enough, how I start most my projects. So yeah right now it's a fairy's butt on a bit of crescent moon and part of her wing. (The wings are translucent and mostly top stitch work.)

I found out I messed up my old one somehow (after having cut the fabric already, of course)
Oh no! 😢 That's why I always get freaked out when cutting out backings for stockings. Because I'm convinced that I measured and traced wrong, no matter how many times I check. Also why my SCA garb is all a little oversized. I hope your pattern goes well!! :sendinglove:

Erebus is so helpful!
He's learning from the best! Orion is usually my lap kitty when I stitch on the couch. Currently working with Erebus on soft paws when he's trying to help. Usually on the pull through on the bottom before I pass back up for the next stitch, so the fabric isn't in too much danger, but it still makes my heart drop every time.

I am loving the fairy butt already, this piece is going to be magical :chuckle:

I made some more progress on the patterning and made yet more adjustments to my paper pattern.
Hopefully this will end up with a reasonably well-fitting mock-up tomorrow :phew:
It should now be slightly too wide in places, but that's much easier to work with than simply not having enough space for my hips to exist xD
I currently have a lot of patterns that almost fit, so I feel you on having a collection 'eh garb' xD

Oh my goodness, that is so precious though!

@Maegaranthelas ✨🧚‍♀️✨ I'll make sure to share some progress updates! 🤞for your pattern!! 🐈‍⬛ Erebus is oodles of cuteness and menace-ness all in one tiny package.

Not a great day. I woke up with an inkling of a headache and it just managed to evolve into a migraine and take over my day. I did manage some stuff today and I learned that suffering from migraines at the change of season is a thing and not something that I just theorized. Not to mention, super windy all day and there was a drop of 11°F since yesterday, so I am pretty sure that barometrics had something to do with it as well.

And Erebus managed to knock over my computer tower by jumping off of it. At least it was into my leg and not straight onto the floor. I pretty sure he damaged one of the DPI port as the monitor now only works in the second port. I'm going to have to take a look at that later.

So, I am just going to keep on carrying on. And go curl up on the couch with some cross stitch before I go to bed.

I am excited to use this tool to help me keep track of things, like the rules of my magic and what is the name of that bad family?

And then M and I were trying to play games and the internet kept rubberbanding us and we looked at our router, realized that it was 5+ years old and that the firm ware hadn't been updated in 5 years and decided that it was time to upgrade. Especially since it had been giving us problems all week. So yay, fixed the internet problem.

I went home early today, bloated and with a terrible stomachache. It was like how I felt yesterday, only worse. And I think I have a theory. This week's meal prep included gluten-free pasta made from rice, corn, and quinoa. Before now, I have not eaten quinoa at all. And after some research into my symptoms vs. the benefits of quinoa, I definitely am okay with swearing it off. I never want to feel like that again. (BTW, I am feeling a lot better right now than I was 6 hours ago.) I also think that I am resigning myself to asking my doc tomorrow about allergy testing for foods. I am getting tired of the minefield.

For now, I am aiming to get to bed here soon and hopefully get a decent night of sleep for once this week.

:sendinglove: Keep on being awesome and I'll catch you next time!

Oh no, an unexpected allergen appeared! That's so unfair!
My thoughts exactly. The symptoms were aligning with it being an allergic reaction, according to the internet, so I'm going to get doc's opinon. I'm bummed because that pasta tasted pretty good and held up well for meal prep.

In other news, I tried some frozen veggie skillet brussel sprouts that have been in the freezer in a while. And I tried cooking some pilaf, sans orzo, and it went great! It is so tasty. So, I'll be in trouble again when I see her in 3 weeks and I'm probably getting referred to the GI specialist. :sus: So yeah, public service announcment (aka, what Syrius learned today), if your sh*t ain't right for a long time, tell your doctor.

Okay, here's the story. After I said goodnight to ya'll, my tummy wasn't feeling quite right, so I went and sat on the couch and drank some more ginger ale. Ended up with nasty abdomen discomfort again and it kept me from falling asleep until SUPER late. So, I called out today and took myself to the open clinic hours at my doctor's office. ~3 hours, 2 prescriptions, 1 x-ray session, and a well-deserved lecture from the NP later and I was done there. Oh, and I'm going to be getting a call about a CT scan. Just awesome.

Love how I am now taking 3 medications with drowsiness side effects. I am not loving that, but it doesn't seem to be affecting me currently.

Anyway, I guess I'll just have to see what happens. As for tomorrow, thankfully M and I have the same job and he has graciously agreed to help me out. I love him so much, he is an awesome human.

The part of me that felt a lot better wanted a walk, but I knew that I would be overdoing it, so I settled on Strive - which proved that my not going for walk was the right choice. Feeling a bit better this day, so maybe things are looking up.

Spotlight was just right. It felt a little too much at the end, but now that I've sat back for a moment, it was just right. Ugh, I am not enjoying this weakness, but I am on the way to some new answers, so maybe it is a blessing in disguise. I'm going to keep looking for silver linings.

Oh, and an update on my fairy:

Last Things:
==mm== Counting Victories - I am definitely feeling better.
:x: Some ball foot rolling
:x: Evening Foot stretches

I was very productive today and I am looking forward to finishing a long carrying on training tomorrow. I've been working on it for weeks, but I am nearly done.

I have been happy with how much I've been walking so far this week. And I've been drinking many fluids, so I am pretty sure that I am keeping myself well hydrated. I am getting better at putting on the sunscreen for my walks, so that is also an improvement.

On a side note: Read this guide this evening and it made me feel like I'm actually doing okay. Sure, I'm not doing awesome, but I had some problems. I am still showing up and I am still doing what needs to be done. I am not quite back into my regular evening activities, but that's because the past two evenings have been weird. I am still here and showing up and doing things and that is perfect. Tomorrow, I'll get home at a normal time and I'll suit up and show up again, whether I am feeling up to it or not (not sick wise, just the jitters about core work after the events of last week) and it will be okay.

Okay, sleepy time for me. LOL, I was so sleepy I didn't press post!

It was a decent day today. I got some good stuff done at work. I detected the start of a migraine this morning, a couple of hours after my walk, and I decided to take medicine earlier than I usually do. Between that and taking it easy at my desk, I managed to skate the leading edge of the migraine. My head hurt some, but it wasn't full blown. Then I decided to do the workout anyway because it's a low key day in Momentum, and you know what? My migraine went away completely. I don't know how or why, but I am thankful.

Alright, during my absence...
> Podiatrist follow up, that was supposed to be today, got rescheduled to 8/2 because my podiatrist left the practice a month or so ago and nobody rescheduled my appointment. My appointment, which is supposed to be a follow up for last year's plantar fasciitis which I have had NO problems with, even though I have totally fallen off on my stretches. Yeah, that appointment is now a new patient appointment with the new doctor. Which is just crazy to me. I don't have a problem anymore. Whatever. I'll go and I'll see what he says and maybe I'll ask for some ankle strengthening advice.
> Mom had surgery. She's now in recovery and is doing great.
> And Erebus tried to smell my paints tonight while I was working on scrolls in my craft room (which is still far from being fully put away)
> Oh and abdominal pain is completely gone. I am back to normal.

Today was a decent day, other than being stuck at my desk for most of it, and I spent the evening watching Netflix and painting. It was just the relaxing evening that I needed. Now, I've got to go finish this crossover event and go to bed. And stretch, of course.

Love you all! :morelove:

PS, I'll get caught up on reading all of you real soon. :sendinglove:

I am not quitting Wall Push-ups, Momentum, Express Tone, and Unbound r2. I just really needed to shake it up. sigh. To be totally honest, I looked at Momentum and I knew that I would half-heartedly do it today. I needed some serious cardio, no, I've been craving some serious cardio. And while I know that continuing to flop between programs is not the answer, I know this is what I need right now. I'll interwork them somehow. And I had planned to do Express Tone in addition to the ride, but my legs can't take the thrusters right now. That bike ride was half out of the saddle and my legs are already talking. I intend to do Wall Push-ups, and I'll edit add them in when I do.

:sendinglove: Keep on being awesome and I'll catch you next time!

@Mamatigerj You are absolutely right. I am going to call it keeping the body guessing from now on!! :imp::tuzki-love: I think I'm too hard on myself sometimes.

Work walk: No, I had a morning meeting, then it was weirdly rainy, and then next thing I knew, it was time to go to the doctor. But it's okay, I got to stand out in the rain for a solid 5 minutes.
Main workout:
Hard Reset Cardio 2 - I did the circuit today
Wall Push-ups 21

In the rotation:
Wall Push-ups | Momentum | Express Tone | Unbound r2 | Hard Reset Cardio <--- This is so that I don't have to go searching for my list of actives when I do something that I haven't done in a while

I have decided that I like this form of reporting. I am still doing morning water and I am reflecting in my journal, so I am still counting victories.

Doctor today - Allergist. OMG, finally. I have been wanting to do this for years because I have been taking allergy medicine for general allergy symptoms for years and I am finally finding out what they are. And and and, this is the part that I am extra excited about, he is going to help me deduce if the gluten problem is an allergy, celiac, or if it is just an intolerance. Because this is a thing that I should know. But we have to do the general allergy testing in two separate panels in two sessions... so I am going to be congested and miserable for about two weeks. At least he said that I could still use the flonase, which does help with the congestion. So, I am expecting that I might not feel up to a lot during this time period and I am accepting that it is okay. I'll just do what I can and come out the other side with answers. Real answers for the first time in a while.

I've started the slow work of catching up on logs. It is a slow process and I feel bad that I missed so much. (Again, applying pressure to myself that I don't need to.)

:sendinglove: Keep on being awesome and I'll catch you next time!
