AM- awake at 5:30am (PDT) for some weird reason, after only 7ish hours of sleep. Every 5-10 years or so, in our life together living in this house, my husb and I have gone thru these periods where we *simulate moving.* Since we both grew up moving a lot as kids, we have a built in antsiness about staying in one place. Our house is old and big, and we dearly love it, so leaving it to actually move has always presented some internal conflict for both of us, even as the antiness sets in. So, this moving simulation usually involves a thorough purging of stuff, then a reorganizing of the stuff we have kept. There is usually some sort of sleeping arrangement change, as well. This time around, we have added some new appliances to the mix, which feels even more we are like *moving into a new place,* and merely traded our sleeping positions on the bed, versus moving into different rooms to sleep separately. Anyway, as spring is here, this antiness has set in, along with the need to upgrade things before they break or get too expensive, and we get too old to install ourselves. It’s an exhausting process, moving is, even if it’s within the same house!🫣🤯

AM- awake before 7am (PDT) after not enough sleep. Husb was snorting uncontrollably for way too long last night, so I could not get to sleep. Between his excessive fatigue, the economic and mom-related stress, and allergies that he won’t treat, the snoring is, again, a problem, in this later stage of his life.And so it is also my problem🥴

I spent an hour around 4:30am trying to get back to sleep after a particularly disturbing dream of mob-like violence that involved me🤯😖🤔. AM- awake just before 7am (PDT) after a little over 8 hours of actual sleep. It surprises me that I slept as solid as I did, because I took a dab of prednisone yesterday morning to tamp down my body-wide allergy/inflammation. It usually affects me 12 hours later; which is why I try to take it at night, when it’s necessary, so that that effect hits during the day. This time, I guess I was so tired, it didn’t matter😏😝🥱

AM- awake before 7am (PDT), after 8+ hours of mediocre-to-poor sleep. There is a problematic tendon in my left hip from when I slipped on icy snow on my PCT hike back in 2017 that has been bugging me non-stop for a couple weeks. It’s disturbing my sleep. My plant medicine is helpful, but isn’t completely eliminating it. Nearly all of my standing lower body movements in workouts are currently modified, so as not to make it worse. Ugh. Getting old is the pits🥴Anyway, disrupted sleep is the result.🫩

Although I did dream: I was flying with a male grandchild (I do not have one) to meet up with my granddaughter’s father….wtf is that about😜🥴🤦🏼….oh well, I feel okay emotionally, but my left hip still keeps me from comfortable sleeping positions. Last night, I had high doses of plant medicine to get a little comfy for a while🫣😴

🌷Mothers Day🌷

AM- awake at 7am (PDT) after 8ish hours of sleep. We had a late night, watching “A Complete Unknown,” the biopic about Bob Dylan with Timotheé Chalamet. We liked it😍It had good music, and that kid did a fine job of acting😎However, since it was not a miniseries, it ran overtime as a movie, and could have had way more depth had it been formatted differently. The historical pieces added great elements of authenticity. I highly recommend it.

Do you have any started quilting project right now? or something special in mind?
Ah, yes, I’m working on patching the first quilt I made as an adult from 35 years ago. My daughter has had it all these years and literally worn it thread bare in many places. She is 40 now, didn’t want to stop using it, so it’s been getting rehabilitated on my sewing table since Sept🫣 Many days I feel unmotivated or simply run out of hours to focus on the repair job. It’s a lot more tedious than building a quilt from scratch….😜
In addition, there’s a work in process on my wall.

AM- awake just after 6am (PDT) with 8ish hours of fair sleep. I think I am just becoming numb to the left hip pain…ugh….Or, it could be the BCAAs I restarted are helping. I had stopped them a couple years ago, for a weight gain issue. At that time, I had noticed an uptick in my various hand pains when I stopped them, but just worked thru that: took more plant medicine, etc. But, now, with this hip tendon, I decided to see if they might help. Whether I just *think* they are, or they actually are? It doesn’t matter, if it feels less painful🫣

AM- awake at 6am (PDT) after 8 hours of decent sleep, with just a short time of hip discomfort around midnight, trying to find a comfy position😏🛌💤

This morning, I had a dream. We were coming home from a road trip pulling an RV, to a house I had shared with my daughter’s father years ago. We found the front door wide open. Inside was an older woman who said she was a friend of one of my daughter’s friends, who had recommended us to adopt her little doggo. Her husb had died and the doggo was his. She was moving to assisted living, and could not take the doggo there. Since the house was wide open, we were hesitant to believe her, and my husb was SUPER suspicious. He had wanted to “get the Kleeg (sp?) lights out,” along with a megaphone and a gun🫣. I wanted to just call the cops. Last week, IRL, I had found the neighbors’ front door wide open and DID call the cops, cuz the neighbors live on the west side full time, and this was a second home. I’m sure that was the source material for the dream😏😜🤔

This show followed Cassian Andor in the Rebel Alliance for the 5 years prior to Rogue One. It’s a good show, streaming on Disney. I highly recommend it😎

I'm a total beginner in quilting, have an idea/ a project that is still waiting for me as well. Hopefully in the next raining day I can just sit and continue a bit.
The old quilt that is in rehab was actually a log cabin variation called Lover’s Knot. I pieced it on the machine. I remember that my machine broke mid-way thru, so I *had to* buy another one😂The actual quilting was just around the 3 borders “in the ditch” by machine, and the rest was tied. This rehab job is, indeed, way more complex, because I am machine stitching rectangles across seam lines, and through all layers, like bandaids. And, I am adding hearts scattered around, where more thinning spots are, to really add a “scrappy look” to it. All with the intent of brightening it up, since it has faded significantly over the years. I’ll lay it out on the bed and get a better picture here, soon. Honestly, your interest is kind of inspiring me to get back on it. I need to finish it up by the end of June, so I can take it back, and give it to my daughter at our family reunion.🥰

AM- awakened around 6am (PDT) by Canoodles oozing up onto the bed and wedging his 100lb bulk in between us😂. After that, it was useless to try to sleep longer. That was 8 hours, anyway…🛌💤
Outside is blustery, cloudy, 45 (F) degrees feels like 40, with MED-HIgh pollen🌤️🌬️🌷🤧

AM- awake at 7am (PDT) after 9 horizontal hours but pretty lousy actual sleep. I don’t know what happened, cuz my hip was less uncomfy yesterday overall. But, I still struggled to stay asleep and comfortable in bed. I did use less (than I prefer) plant medicine last night…maybe that was it🫣🤷🏼‍♀️
