Goodnight all so uh
Dolly Parton passed and hoo boy am I not alright, so I am not big on country music but for those who aren't American - Dolly Parton was a huuuuge country music star, and she grew up in poverty so intense that you wouldn't even comprehend it (LIKE, WHEN SHE WAS BORN, HER FAMILY GAVE THE PEOPLE WHO DELIVERED HER A BAG OF CORNMEAL INSTEAD OF MONEY) and then became a HUGE FRIGGIN STAR, she had so much money. But homegirl, she avoided becoming a billionaire because she gave so much f'n money, and even made a program where for the first five years of life, every single month, your child would get a book. No charge. No income checks. Anyone of any class could have books growing up, and she did this because of her father being illiterate for his entire life.
You see a lot of celebrities or companies do like, foundations that are cuh-learly tax writeoffs, but with Dolly nah, she genuinely just wanted the world to suck less.
Like, during COVID, she donated a million bucks to help fund the vaccine. No one asked her to, she was just like, "oh that's important HERE'S MONEY"
Allegedly, we're still getting info, she passed of cancer and there were signs and symptoms of it last yearish... ... When she was taking care of her husband that wound up passing in March 2025. But as she was taking care of him she didn't exactly go and get things checked and-- Yeah, even Dolly Parton was (potentially) a victim of... yeah.
(I am not saying her hubby was sexist or anything, it's more of, so many women are so prone to putting stuff aside for the sake of others and then that becomes detrimental.)
So essentially, America lost a saint. I mean I'm not sure if Dolly would have even wanted me to call her a saint because a while back, people were tossing around the idea of her getting a statue and she was all "eeeeehhh not right now but maybe if you're so inclined, if you still like me after I die, go for it!" But y'all see what I mean, we lost basically one of the GOODEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD TODAY.
And so I cried a bit lol
(And yes, I did give Cooper kisses, he is a good boi. And he loves you. And Dolly Parton.)
