This Week on DAREBEE - Two New Programs and Warmups You Can Watch

Hello everyone!

Here is everything that landed on DAREBEE since last Saturday. It was a busy one.

New Programs

The Forge

Our new level 3 no-equipment strength program. 30 days of reps and holds across three phases (Heat, Hammer and Temper) with no jumping and no push-ups of any kind. If you own dumbbells there is an optional add-on that covers pulling on the back days.

Second Spring
A new program for perimenopause and menopause. Level 3 and no equipment, built as a 28-day cycle you can repeat. Strength days, low impact cardio, mobility and yoga all work together. There are two optional add-ons (dumbbells and push-ups) and you can add one, both or neither. The program works on its own either way.

New Challenge

Ranger Challenge

This months challenge.

New Workouts

  • Low Impact Cardio - standing cardio where your feet never leave the ground.
  • Regrets? Several. - a level 4 metcon and the long overdue answer to I Regret Nothing and No Regrets.
  • Standing Glutes - a full glute session without ever getting on the floor.
  • 9PM Yoga - an evening wind-down and the bedtime bookend to 6AM Yoga.

Warmups Now Have Video How-Tos

We recorded video how-tos for all 12 workouts in the Warm Ups collection. Every warmup now comes with a video showing exactly how it's done.

New Collections and Guides

Repeat Program Pages

Finished a program and wondered how to go again without simply doing the exact same thing? Programs now end with a Repeat Program page. It is a short guide written for that specific program on how to run it again and what to try after. You will find it as the last button in the program index. Many programs have it already and we are adding it to the rest as we go.

Make It Harder - On Every Workout

Every workout description now includes a Make it harder section. Yes, every single one. We did them by hand and we would rather not talk about how long that took.

Hide Description

Many of you visit every day and know the drill, and on a phone the description boxes add a lot of scrolling. You can now hide them on workouts, programs and challenges. Tap "hide description" at the bottom of the box and it stays hidden across the whole site until you switch it back. A thin strip stays behind with a "show" link if you want a quick peek on one page. New visitors still see descriptions by default.

Filters Got a Big Upgrade

All six filters (workouts, programs, challenges, training plans, guides and collections) got some love this week:

  • Counts next to every option so you can see how many items match before you click.
  • Set for my level - if you have taken the fitness test one tap sets the difficulty to your result.
  • Bookmarks - every filter now has a Bookmarks group so you can show only what you have bookmarked and combine it with everything else.
  • Better on phones - a badge shows how many filters are active and a small bar stays at the top as you scroll.
  • Clear button in the search box to start a search over in one tap.
  • Friendlier "no results" - when a combination finds nothing you get a clean message with one-tap buttons to remove individual filters.

With Video How-To

More than 900 workouts have a video how-to and now you can find them. The workouts filter has a new switch: show all or with video how-to only.

Program Index Upgrades

  • The day you have open is now marked on the index.
  • The progress line has an "up next" link that takes you straight to your next day.
  • If you untick a day by accident and tick it again it keeps its original date.
  • Extra pages like Repeat Program now sit right after the last day, and on phones you get two day tiles per row instead of one.

Find Your Training Quiz

  • The quiz now recommends The Forge and Second Spring. If you pick perimenopause or menopause you will always be offered Second Spring.
  • A new "Anything we should know?" screen covers pregnancy, postpartum, menopause, GLP-1 medication, injury, feeling run down and seated training in one place.
  • Goals now use plain words: lose weight, get stronger and build muscle, get toned or get fitter and feel better overall.
  • Your main pick now comes with a link to our warmups.
  • Challenge suggestions vary between retakes so you won't keep seeing the same two.

A few of these changes started as your suggestions and reports, so please keep them coming. We read every one!
