What's New at DAREBEE - the Monday edition

Yes, this is a day late. We were busy building the things in this post and then forgot to tell you about them. So here is everything that happened since last Sunday, with a bonus day attached.

Community Clubs

Six clubs opened on Friday: Fight Club, Running Club, Walking Club, Yoga Club, Push-Up Club and Squat Club. Each one has a weekly call and a practice of the week, check-ins are honor based (we trust you) and club badges land on your profile at 10, 25, 50 and 100 check-ins. Walking Club works a little differently: every walk is a postcard on the club wall. There are no streaks, no calendars and no pressure anywhere in the clubs. You join, you leave, you come back, all fine. More clubs will follow and we'd love to hear which ones you'd want.

The Guild

The Geese of Millbrook
fell and then the Encore fell too. That's two quests, two victories and 138 adventurers who have answered at least one call so far. Bonus hits are open until 2026-10-19 10:00 (Athens time) if you want to squeeze in a few more. The next quest goes up on Saturday at 2026-10-24 10:00 (Athens time). Everything is recorded in the Guild Ledger.

One rule change: only extra reps count toward quests and events now. Reps from workouts, programs and challenges no longer do, since those are tracked on your dashboard. The quest page says the same thing in red so nobody misses it.

Logs that feel like journals

The Checking In | Logs section got a lot of attention this week:
  • Entry titles come pre-filled with the date. You can keep it, change it or leave it blank, and you can edit titles on your older entries too.
  • A Members only switch on your log. Only you can flip it, not even the moderators, and guests see a polite notice instead of your entries.
  • Start a Log and My Log buttons at the top of the section.
  • A cover for each log with your motto, Browse by month and a Read as a journal toggle that hides replies while you read.
  • Photos in a row now become a small gallery.
  • Mark as entry and Mark as reply, so you can sort out which is which in your own log.

Everything else on the forum
  • Gift builder: pick an exercise from the library and set the reps instead of typing tags.
  • Profiles: Follow, Ignore, Message and the rest moved into a Member Actions section at the bottom of the card, so the top is all banner and badges. The Latest Activity and Postings tabs are gone and an empty Trophy Case now says so instead of staring back at you.
  • New forum layout: General, Logs, Community, The Guild, Join In and The Project, with new homes for Early Releases, Kitchen, Safe Space and the Knowledge Base.

Dashboard and site
  • Sync across devices: if your community account is linked, you can turn on sync in Community Connect and your dashboard follows you from phone to laptop. It's opt-in, you see exactly what gets stored before you say yes and you can delete your server copy any time.
  • Community Connect itself: link your forum account from the dashboard, see your quest and event entries in Today's Activity, claim badges, keep Currently Training and your streak badge in sync.
  • My Deck: your own exercise cards with your own reps, built on the bookmarks page and logged from the dashboard. Gifts you wrap for others show up in your log too once you're linked.
  • Currently Training now holds 40 items instead of 10. Some of you are busy.
  • Notes and Comments on the dashboard are collapsible.
  • The bookmarks page got a refresh: better on phones, Show more instead of page numbers, To Top and To Bottom buttons for reordering, calmer colors.
  • Every video now has a Watch on YouTube link underneath, for the days YouTube decides to be difficult.

New content
  • The Crucible: our hardest strength program yet. Level 5, no equipment, 28 days, repeatable, optional pull-up bar and dumbbell add-ons. It's in Early Releases right now, so the Hive gets first go.

That's the week. Next one lands on Sunday, we promise. Probably.

Lots of great stuff here DAREBEE Team! Thank you!

More clubs will follow and we'd love to hear which ones you'd want.
The pulling team has been active in the Community Playground for years. And they already have their group milestone system designed. I think they are deserving of their own Club!

The pulling team has traditionally included:
  • all forms of pull-ups
  • hangs
  • rows
  • flyes
Really any exercises that target the muscles necessary for pull-ups.

I also think it would be motivating to have Clubs for burpees and planks. (And then we'd have all the exercises eligible for Achievement badges covered.)

  • New forum layout: General, Logs, Community, The Guild, Join In and The Project, with new homes for Early Releases, Kitchen, Safe Space and the Knowledge Base.
Can we get the Community navigation bar tabs/pull-down menu updated to match? Currently some of the forums are hidden from site navigation and only accessible if one goes to the main Community page.

Meditation Club would be nice to have too 😊
