Streak Day 83
Today was a good workout day! I felt extremely sore from yesterday and I am for sure going to be feeling what I did today tomorrow. It helped that I got started with workouts early so I was able to do a little extra by the time my regularly scheduled workout time rolled around.

I did my first Metcon workout today and it was so hard despite being titled "Easy Does It". In the description it mentions getting your temperature up without breaking a sweat but I definitely broke a sweat by the 5th set and by the 7th set I was ready to lay on the floor for an indefinite amount of time. I guess this means that I still have quite a ways to go in my fitness journey :P

Streak Day 84
HIIT is killer. :soaked:

somewhere along the way I miscounted how many rooms I've done in The Labyrinth. I recounted a few times using the map and I keep getting 25 when I thought it was 24 today. I'm like 99% sure it's 25. I just counted the undone rooms I have 15 rooms left so it has to be 25. I don't know where the mistake popped up. :P

extremely restless tonight- going to do some random challenges and day 1s of some programs I've been eyeing, not sure if I will keep them. I'll decide tomorrow. For now, I'm just going to play around a little until my mind and body settles down. will continue to edit this list and then add the ones I'm keeping to the quest log for tomorrow.
Day 1 Daily Pushups (knees)
Day 1 10,000 Punches
Day 1 Easy Arms
Day 1 2-minute abs program (WOW 30 SECONDS NEVER FELT SO LONG. THAT WAS HARD)
Day 1 Baseline Program [to potentially be added to warmups]
Day 1 The Guardian

Also, I'm feeling the urge to really step it up. My ego is slightly bruised from how hard those HIIT and Metcon workouts were. I think it's time to almost completely replace video game time for workout time. I would like to start the seated arms program during game time... I'm thinking every hour of game time I should have to do a day of that program to continue playing... hmm... a lot to think about. big goals to reach. These last 80ish days of working out have been so fun and I figure why not test some limits here and see how much I can actually handle in a day without absolutely destroying myself. I figure if I'm having fun and I'm being mindful about it, there's no harm in pushing and testing to see just how much I'm capable of...

I love video games, but life circumstances just don’t allow me to spend much time on them. Honestly, if you look at it realistically, games are mostly just a time sink. Swapping that time for real exercise, better health, and building/shaping the body is actually a pretty good deal.
So I’m always trying to make workouts interesting and fun. Since I have a wild imagination, I tried mixing fitness with an RPG-style adventure: several real people join the same quest where choices depend on strength, flexibility, fighting, or metcon, and you earn points for them. Then you use your imagination to control your character, interact with others, compete, and have fun, almost like creating an adventure movie together. :)
Yep… I’m definitely a bit crazy. Or more than a bit.

I'm crazy too, you're in good company.

It's especially hard because I've been playing my main game (World of Warcraft) for just over 20 years now and there are people on there who I've met who are basically family to me now, despite us never meeting in person (or even knowing each others real names, in some cases). Logging into Azeroth feels like going home. But, I want to be as buff as my characters, so it will probably have to sit on the back burner even more than it has. I already have cut my time down drastically from the 'good old days' back when I would play sunup to sundown on any free day I had. I'll probably never quit, but I will probably only play once or twice a week while I'm ramping up my workouts and am dedicating more time to that. I do listen to the soundtrack for the game while working out, so it's easy to just pretend I'm there training. See, I'm crazy, too. :D

The DAREBEE team is mocking me by labeling those Metcon workouts as Easy!!! Those are some of the hardest workouts I've ever done I swear. I'm determined to get to the point that they're actually easy for me, though.

This workout day was pretty crazy. It's definitely close to my limit. We'll see how long I hold some of these challenges and if I can resist adding more... I'm still breathing and don't have any worrying pain, so I think I'm good to keep moving forward with this plan of pushing myself.

We'll see how I feel tomorrow, though... :phew:

Also, level 10 will come with a new lizard. I'm very excited :D

Only one room in The Labyrinth today. The reality of the situation I've put myself in is starting to sink in. I'm going to hold on as long as possible. I was trying to decide which of the challenges I would drop if I need to and... I really don't want to drop any of them. So, I'm going to keep going until I literally can't. If I can hold on for the next 27 days that would be an incredible badge day and I'd definitely for sure have insane muscles and probably a 6-pack ;)

Jokes aside, I think this set of exercises are a perfect mix for me and completing them all as currently planned would be an epic win and would soothe my bruised ego :P

Shark week, what are you doing here!!!! I'm starting to see a pattern. A huge boost of motivation and then very soon after shark week appears.

I will be holding the line as strong and steady as possible. I am going to push through as much as I can. Shark week will not be the boss of me this time!

Stay Calm Chill Out GIF by Stan.

I started the Salad A Day challenge today. Maybe that will help.... right???? RIGHT??? IT WILL HELP!?!?!? AHHHHHHHHH.

Okay. Anyway. Today was a really great workout day, despite the CIRCUMSTANCES. I got to to go to the gym with my partner <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 I hit my 69th (nice) week in a row of working out. Before I was counting daily, I was counting weekly on the app I use to track my weight lifting. So. Very good day with lots of wins. It will be an interesting next few weeks.

I only have a handful of rooms left in The Labyrinth. I'm really excited but also really sad at the same time. It's been so fun, I don't want to leave! I will probably not start a new program once I finish until after shark week is over, so at least once I finish I'll have a slightly lighter load. I'm determined to keep up with everything though. DETERMINED.

Oh, also a new Build and Conquest game is starting and also a new game of The Honey Deck will be starting over on the playground. If anyone wants to join, now is the time. I promise, we don't bite :D

Have a great day, Bees! Stay strong out there!

1758678447186.pngAnother Envoy of the Strength faction materializes in front of me. This one looks even more serious than the last, which is saying something. Again, I'm not sure how they're able to just materialize inside The Labyrinth... but I don't question it. He looks me up and down, his menacing scowl never fading. He's not impressed. Finally, he speaks. In a low, gutteral voice, he says, "I'm here to give you a quest. Should you succeed, we will regard you as Honored with our faction. Should you fail... well," a grin appeared on his face, just for a moment. I don't think I want to know what will happen if I fail the quest... I ask what it is they ask of me. I'm told I need to prove myself with Five Full Bodyweight Pushups in a row. Only then, will they regard me as honored. He gives me another quick look up and down, scoffing to himself, before he's gone, just as mysteriously as he came.

Streak Day 88
Another good workout day. I felt like I was progressing through the strength faction too fast so I've decided to start adding in quests to level up once I reach the XP threshold. I'm not sure if every faction will have it, but we'll see. I was debating between five and ten pushups for a while and decided on five since I feel like it's going to take me a really long time to get to ten.

Not many rooms left in The Labyrinth and still no key! I'm going to definitely come back one day and try for Level 3. I do most of my workouts on Level 1 because right now I'm prioritizing variety, but I'd like to eventually try things on Level 3.

Also, level 10 has come with a new lizard. :D

Have a good one, Bees!

Quests, quests... Yes...
How many XP you'll get when achieve it?
But maybe it is better if someone else give you some quest. Something like this for yoga: Crow Pose :)
No XP for finishing quest, just access to the factions Honored tier of reputation :D

And I love crow pose! I can't hold it for super long but I can get into it for like 10 or so seconds

Streak Day 89
Little bit of a struggle today. Ran out of time/energy with pushups and DAREBEE dailies left. For challenges and programs, I'm giving myself a 'three strikes you're out' in regards to days missed. This will only count on days where it's just poor time management/laziness that makes me miss the day. If my monthly debuff is especially excruciating or if I'm sick and I miss a day because of that, then I won't get a strike. Unfortunately for today it was just poor time management. Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely not feeling 100%, but I could have gotten the exercises done had I started earlier. During my monthly debuff there are still days where I'm perfectly capable of doing my routine. Also, sometimes the debuff lasts for like 20 to 30 days, so I don't want to be giving myself that many days where I can skip with no consequence. So, I will take it day by day on whether or not I'm able to skip without gaining a strike. I have decided that the debuff is no longer the boss of me and will no longer get in the way of my goals. We'll see how it goes. :P I think putting up a bit of a fight will help the mental side of things, and getting my routines done will help me feel like I'm more in control and not at the mercy of my biology.

All this to say, I won't push too hard, and I will respect the needs of my body when things get gnarly, which they will... and soon.

EDIT: Can't sleep. Did the pushups. BOOYA. Insomnia wins ;)

Have you come up with something for these items for Lizard game? I’ve got a few ideas myself, they just need to be developed a bit, and you’re imaginative and you enjoy these kinds of combinations and calculations. :)
The only ideas I have right now are that I think I'm going to have them tied to the factions and leveling those up. I'm having a hard time figuring out what the items will actually do, besides just sit in my inventory. I'm thinking about one of them being a 'streak day skip' where when I use it I can skip a day of workout and not lose my streak, and the item is only usuable every 30-60 days or so. Or an item where I can remove 'strikes' from a program/challenge, also only usable every 30 or 60 days. [[In case you didn't read, I'm implementing a 'three strikes you're out' for my programs/challenges, so if I miss three days I have to restart the program/challenge]]

I'm interested in hearing your ideas!

Basicaly, I have an idea for game called Log Bandits, or Log Pirates. We “steal” exercises from other users Logs by doing the same. Each stolen workout earns a currency named after the original user (e.g. 2x Fremen, 1x Syrius, 3x Anpuankhses). These currencies should represent elemental types, like wood for mobility, stone for strength, etc... and can be combined in a crafting system to unlock bonuses, tools, or special actions. Think Minecraft meets fitness tracking.
:D

Oh that sounds fun. I'm always reading peoples logs and thinking "wow that exercise/program/challenge looks fun I want to try it". some of the challenges I'm doing now are because I saw them in other logs and wanted to try. That's a good idea, and I love minecraft and any crafting system in games. This definitely sounds like something I would like to add. Maybe people would even be interested in creating the items that we 'buy' off of them with their currency or decide what type of elements/materials their currency represents... I think this sounds fun and could be interesting. I'll think about it over the next few days

I would not rely on people crafting items, rather steal from them :), they wont get any harm, but will be included indirectly.
e.g. use two FRE (fremen, stone) to get spark ✨, and then one DAN (dancer, wood) to get fire🔥, if you dont have DAN, we can exchange, then when you have fire, you need some vegetable 🌿 and water 💧 to make soup 🍲, ,but you need pot also...

It looks interesting, like little lizard, i am reading other logs and saying i would maybe do that. What if we steal a workout to Gurg?

Streak Day 90

9 Sets of Butt Kicks and Rooms 28 and 29 of the Labyrinth on Level 1 [39/40 rooms explored]. While doing these it became extremely apparent that the debuff is huge today and must be respected.

B&C Tai Chi and Honey Deck done

Will continue to do a few things that can be done seated. Monthly debuff is attacking heavy today, so I have strike immunity for anything that doesn't get done today, which will be most of the things.

🤷‍♀️ It is what it is. The body needs what the body needs. Taking some iron supplements and getting some elecrolytes and will edit as I go.

Daily Pushup Day 7 [wall push up]
Salad A Day Day 4
Easy Arms Day 7 [seated]
10K Punches Day 7 [seated]
Unbound Day 13

I think that might be it

@NightWolf714 thank you 😂

Streak Day 91
poor mood and energy today. partner said I look as white as paper. grumble grumble. another day of strike immunity. took some iron, ate some good food, including a HUGE salad (seriously, this thing could have fed a family of 12 but instead I demolished it all), and am going to see what I can get done today. Keeping this tab open and will add as I go and will publish when I'm done. I'll add up XP and update all the other stuff when I feel like it which will definitely not be today

Starting with Honey Deck with a light Metcon workout at Level 3. This is my fourth time doing this workout now and it still kicks my butt. Today is the first time though that I've taken the full 2 minutes between sets. Before, I was taking 20-30 seconds, mostly out of impatience. Today, the 2 minutes was much needed. The last few sets had almost five minutes between them.

Daily Pushup Day 8 [wall pushups]
Easy Arms Day 8 [seated]
Salad a Day Day 5
10K Punches Day 8 [seated]
4 Sets of 40 Butt Kicks to get me to Room 35 of The Labyrinth [all rooms already cleared previously] [39/40 rooms explored]
I make my way back to the exit door. There are two routes I could take and I take the shorter. Luckily, none of the traps or puzzles have reset. I park myself in front of the door and decide I should wait until I regain my strength to move forward. I look at the key and still can't believe I finally found it. I also can't believe it was in the literal last room I had to check. On the plus side, once I leave, I will have a full clear under my belt, albeit unintentionally.
Unbound Day 14

Wrapping up with Hive Build and Conquer (Tai Chi), three moves each for one minute

and now I lay on the floor for a while :D

The Labyrinth, Room 40, Level 1 :)
:completed:

My nap was extremely restful so I decide to make my way through to the final room. Anxious energy flowed through me. I shook it out, and then used the key. The barrier of stone and fire dissolves, and I see light up ahead! I run with all of my strength, faster and faster, until I'm out. Out of breath and drenched in sweat I find the nearest bush and promptly fall asleep in it. I'll make my way home later.

I had some anxious energy I needed to get out, and this was perfect. Back to floor time. I may have pushed a little too hard, but in an extremely satisfying way. :D

The Labyrinth Spoiler Free Review
I really really really enjoyed this program. I think it's my favorite program I've completed so far. I was constantly wondering, "what's through that next door?" throughout the day and I often literally could not wait to work out. I did so many extra workouts just because the suspense was too much and I just needed to know what was next. I found the story to be fun and engaging and it really added a nice touch to the workouts. I didn't do as much RP in my log as I wanted to do because of lack of time/energy/thinking power, but each time I was doing the workouts I was doing my best to immerse myself in the story as much as possible. This is a program that I am very excited to redo in the future. I thought that the workout balance was perfect between the rooms. I enjoyed all of the different types of exercises that were thrown at us and the mix kept things exciting.

Thank you x1000 to the DAREBEE team for this absolute gem of a program!

Streak Day 93
Strike immunity is off for today! I just didn't want to spend the time doing the task for The Guardian, and so... STRIKE ONE for The Guardian. Note to self: Start earlier and do this one first. :D

Also, the stool for the Pull-Up Bar came in. Officially pausing the Dead Hang challenge and will be starting the Touch The Bar Plan tomorrow, which includes two days of hanging in the plan. Once my hang gets to like, 1:45, I'll restart the challenge. For now, I'll be doing Negative Assisted Pullups for the Touch The Bar plan, and I'll see if that helps me progress. Starting... tomorrow because I am POOPED.

Will add up XP... also tomorrow. Just finally feeling back to almost normal today but I am not really feeling like figuring all that out right now.

Streak Day 94
Strike immunity is back on. Debuff is hitting HARD today. Tried to brute force my way through my routine but it very quickly became evident that I need to take it easy. Super frustrated. I've got goals, man! And it's my own body that is conspiring against me making these goals harder to attain! Oh well. Decent day despite all of....that. Here's what I've done so far:

STARTED MY FIRST PLAN TODAY :D FINALLY, after a long time of wanting to add one.

Plans:
Touch The Bar - Monday
  • Max (x2)
    • Two sets of Negative Pullups. [First Set: 3, Second Set: 2]
Challenges:
A Salad A Day Day 8 / 30
[may do some others that can be done seated... we'll see]

Programs:
30 Days of Cardio Light Day 14 / 30 [Level 1]

Zero Hero Day 3 / 30 [Level 1]
Unbound Day 16 / 30

For now, that's all. We'll see if I'm able to get anything additional done later after I've had some time to recoup. The reverse lunges from Zero Hero were what did me in.

Streak Day 95
Finally added up XP. Putting all that stuff under spoiler tag just so there's not so much scrolling. Dropped The Guardian for now, I'll pick that back up when I finish my next challenge.

Today was rough but I didn't let the debuff win! I felt like I was on 20% strength though. But, I got through everything I wanted to, even though I had to do some seated/modified. Blegh.

Streak Day 96
Well, went to the gym with my partner today, which is always a fun time. Except my body rebelled so I only did two sets. I did one set on the leg curl and one on the leg press. The cursed debuff!! *shakes fist at sky* Any more and I would have needed to be carried home and buried 6 feet under. So, the rest of the time I was just a cheerleader while he cranked out a seriously impressive leg day and I wiped the equipment when he was done with each exercise.

Feeling a bit weak, woozy, hormonal, unsteady, etc etc, so I'm not doing anything else. Strike immunity ON. Drinking electrolytes and eating good-for-me food and that's it.

Which means I did technically do A Salad a Day Day 10. So that's one DareBee thing done for the day. I would have liked to do more but I don't think my partner would appreciate having to take care of my lifeless body afterwords :P

Edit:: ok I couldn't help myself I did a little https://darebee.com/workouts/lazy-bear-workout.html on level 1 for honey deck and 3 minutes of tai chi. time to lay on the floor for a while

Happy October, stay spooky, Bees! :jason:
