A Tigress Climbing a Mountain

NightTigress NightTigress Logging since March 2025
Merry Christmas!

I've been aware that meditation is a thing that exists and that people use and find useful for many years, but haven't taken the time to look into it. Yesterday I got a one year subscription to the Headspace meditation app as a Christmas present. Well, no time like the present. The app suggested I start with the basics; 10 days of learning about meditation. I started just that, deciding that directly before bed is the time of day that I could most consistently carve out 10 minutes.

I've previously posted these posts directly after my main workout in the evening and I don't want to change that. So what you're getting in these daily check-in posts is actually yesterdays meditation.

It's a silly convention (personally I'm proud to claim all 54--almost 55 now--of my years, and don't love it when people mistake me for someone considerably younger) but I was taught that when a person chooses not to divulge their age, the socially correct convention is to pretend to believe they are 21.

Thank you for the cheers @MangoTux, @Mamatigerj, @graoumia, @Laura Rainbow Dragon, @Fremen, @Anek, and @Jaga!
Thank you for the birthday wishes @astro_lizard!
Thank you for the birthday gift @Syrius!

Okay, so birthday gifts are actually supposed to be as many reps as you are old.

Yes, let's keep it like that, makes for less effort when completing them.

You could have just placed those things here instead of throwing them at my feet. What even is this? Is it broken now after this drop?

What's this handle for? Oh, a hammer. Has a nice weight to it. Not Thor's then. Not my kind of weapon, let's put this over there.
A mess of animal hide and fabrics. What even...? Oof, that's heavy. Yeah, no, don't want.
Now that's more like it. A bow, seems to be in one piece still, good tension on the string, and magical in some way from the looks of it. And a quiver. Nice, step one complete.
And this is? A round shield. Rather small but magical as well it seems.

Hrm... They obviously want me to pick one. I can probably pick more than one though. Would only picking one reflect badly on me...?
Well then, let's pick these two.

I selected the Skyshield and the Oathbow.

I got sick halfway through Thursday and then spent most of Friday in bed. By yesterday morning I was past the worst of it and today I'm pretty much fine again.

They're always changing something, aren't they? Yesterday there was only one Valkyrie watching me. Today the door doesn't open into the normal hall but two passageways, forcing me to make a choice.

I chose the wind path.

We've had wobbly floors back in The Labyrinth and now here as well, but The Labyrinth was like abandoned whereas this is a proper place. C'mon people, someone could slip and hurt themselves. Haven't you heard about workplace health and safety regulations?
