Finally finished couch to 5k! Due to a range of illnesses and a break while I was pet sitting, it took almost twice as long as it should have. I'm planning to do a few months of base training, mostly zone 2 training over the summer, because running in the heat is not my favourite. Then, depending how things are feeling, I might train for a race in the spring.

Pretty happy with how this month went. I finally completed couch to 5k (in 18 weeks instead of the nine it's supposed to take) and got into some 80/20 training. I'm planning to spend the next four months building my base back up, then if that goes well I'll train up for a the ultra that's been eluding me since I first trained for it in 2020. (It was cancelled for two years due to the pandemic, and the following two years I was injured). I'm also trying to keep cycling - I go through phases with that and I've never been as consistent as I'd like.

Happy with how this month turned out. It started a bit slow - I've had lingering issues from covid, which kind of surprised me. I thought I'd bounce back from it pretty quickly, being youngish and relatively healthy, but it wasn't until this week that my energy finally started to return. I hadn't realised it was missing until I woke up one day feeling great. At least things seem to be normal now, and I'm back into running again (run/walk intervals, anyway).

In March I finished a couple of programs (Foundation and Arms of Steel) and a challenge (Lower Body Blast - I really liked this one). I got most of the way through Dead Hang, but I got stuck at about the same point I always do, so I'm going to drop that one and start working toward pull-ups soon. I also started doing a bit of archery again - I'm hoping to get back into it properly soon (I'm just practicing at home at the moment). I'm looking forward to shooting some longer distances and maybe getting back into competitions next year.

Next month I'm thinking of doing Totals and Total Burn as well as a couple of challenges. I want to start lifting weights again, but I'm house/pet sitting for a couple of weeks in April and it's too much effort to haul my dumbbells along with me, so I'll stick to bodyweight training for now (and a lot of walking, as the dog I'm looking after is very active).
