"If not me, who? If not now, when?"
Here's the latest one in this thread. As always, let me know how you found it and if you have any suggestions for future topics you may want me to address.

This was great. Your friend is basically me.
"Aim low, be consistent, be kind".
That says it all. This was a great reminder for me that Darebee is a friendly oasis in the fitness ecosystem. Most fitness philosophies just beat the same old drum: "no pain, no gain." It is such a short term, flash-in-the-pan approach that is just shaming people into exercise habits. Missed a workout? Shame on you!

Does that sound like a healthy relationship to anyone?

A fitness philosophy that accounts for life (and all its seasons) is such a relief to encounter. Thank you!

There is a guide covering the ability of the brain to augment physical performance, that should be out by the end of this week. In the meantime here's something to mull over and, as always, any questions you may have just let me know.

This is one of my favorites. You will need a quick warm-up before you try it but this single exercise works your entire body for strength, agility, speed, dexterity plus it helps you develop your cardiovascular system and your aerobic capacity all in just a few minutes.

This is an explainer on the exercise snack I posted about here.

This is an amazing exercise that targets all this:

  • Triceps
  • Anterior deltoids
  • Core
  • Pectoralis major and minor
  • Gluteus maximus, minimus, and medius
  • Quadriceps
  • Hamstrings
  • Adductor
  • Hip flexors
  • Calves
  • Latissimus dorsi
  • Fascia
  • Speed
  • Endurance
  • Cardiovascular fitness
  • Aerobic capacity
As you can see it's pretty complete and the video below explains it a little and helps you improve your technique.

One more video on two fundamental things no one ever really talks about concerning exercise which often mess with our head and affect our mental health. You get to see it here first before it becomes widely available on YouTube. Let me know your thoughts.

The latest DAREBEE Wellbeing video gives you three things you can do to help your fitness levels without exercising!

Very interesting and inspiring @Damer but i am so shocked you showed us a picture where you are not wearing black ;)
Seriously, i will have to make efforts to wear differently because i am more likely to have too much clothes in order not being cold. I will give it a try, many thanks

@graoumia  I do have some other options in my wardrobe though, I must confess, not that many beyond black and white and black is ever so practical! We've all been conditioned to think that cold weather is bad for us and we should protect ourselves against it. From an evolutionary perspective however we've been designed to cope with it, within reason. I am really glad you liked the video.

The latest video in our wellbeing and self-care section details the three foundational elements of fitness you need to take into account to feel fit, strong and, hopefully, happy at any age. As always you get to see it first here before it becomes publicly available on YouTube and, as always, you have the prerogative of asking me questions on any of these aspects we cover.

Exercise snacks are just that: really short exercises you can implement to actively target specific muscle groups quickly and effectively without a warm-up (most times) or the need for a lot of time or space.

Today we have two very specific ones for you:

A balance exercise that hits so many of the lower and mid-body kinetic chain points that it's virtually unbelievable:

And a seemingly easy stronger legs exercise that will make your quads scream.

As always The Hive gets advance access to them ahead of the rest of the webz on YouTube  and, you all have direct access to me here with any questions if something isn't as clear as I hope it is.

The Squat Jump, Knee-Tuck exercise is basically three exercises rolled into one: a deep squat, a straight jump and an aerial knee tuck. The muscles it works are listed below:
  • Gluteus maximus, minimus, and medius (buttocks)
  • Quadriceps (front of the thigh)
  • Hamstrings (back of the thigh)
  • Adductor (groin)
  • Hip flexors
  • Calves
  • Ankles
  • Rectus abdominis
  • Transverse abdominis
  • Core & lower back

Do it for maybe 5 - 10 times in a row in three sets and it will also help you develop your aerobic capacity and cardiovascular fitness.

As always, you get advance viewing privileges.

The latest powerhouse exercise Explainer-video to be added to our library is a conditioning exercise you can do without running a single meter. There are three variations to it (which I just couldn't cover in the short video, before) and also a break down of the muscle groups it targets.

@Damer i was used to do some wide squat hold punches from some Darebee workouts, but i felt i did them more correctly thanks to your explanations. But keeping my feet very parallel is a bit painfull for my knees i had to move them a bit to the outside. I did twice 100 punches at medium speed, it was already challenging for me, i felt my legs, and some sweat, so a nice exercice. I will have to review the triangle technique.
Many thanks

@Damer i have another feedback for you regarding another exercise you adviced here before, for Abs, the second one for which we just sit and lift legs.

We had a discussion with my husband a few months ago, he is a huge fan of pushups, and it is the main part of his training. He says it is a very complete exercice, and i completely aggree with him. But i was saying that i didn't feel my abs when doing pushups, and was not really able to squeeze them correctly, which was strange to me. I had the feeling that my abs were not so weak.
And actually i am doing Totals program for the second time and still enjoy it. 2 days ago i did pushups, and it was strange i was able to contract my lower abs. And today, it was knees to elbow, and i was feeling my abs much more than in the past. And then i understood that your abs exercice has been a game changer for my lower abs, Many thanks again

@PetiteSheWolf it really depends on the level you're at. If you can manage a minute a minute it is or, as close to it as you can get. What I suggest you do is maintain your balance as long as possible on one leg and the moment it goes switch legs and repeat. Although this appears to be a simple exercise it really isn't. It recruits a large number of muscles and tendons and the central nervous system (CNS) so you need to be patient and slowly build up.

You will need a little bit of a warm-up before you try this one out but it targets all hip flexors, all four of the ab muscle groups, hamstrings, glutes and calves and even works the quads a little bit. Aim to go as high as you can with the leg sweep.
