Thank you everyone and again, Happy New Year! :hheart:

Today was a good day.

Very nice day off. Recharged myself for tomorrow.

Glad this is the end of holiday partying for a little bit. Looking forward to getting back on track diet wise.

Missed the countdown into 2025. My husband went to bed after 10pm since we was up for work at 2:30am.

I made it past 11pm, but as soon as he went to bed Miyagi laid where he was sitting so we both laid into the middle couch seat so we were head to head. Woke up to him still like that with me a couple minutes past midnight.

So we still did all the Happy New Years wishing.

So far, looking forward to seeing where I find myself at this time next year. :ss:

That is a very good point @NightWolf714! :tears:

Today was a good day.

Getting chilly again, and was windy. Miyagi is so cute in the wind. He genuinely wants and tries to fight it. :tears:

My former favorite song came on during my jog. Got me super pumped up, kept repeating it so I could have it on the radio for my ride home to get my ballad singing out.

Of course the video here is 4 minutes, but the full song is just about 7. :hheart:

I just love this band so much. The full song has more orchestra parts. :tuzki-love:

And my spotify 2024 year in review said I listed to A7X for 5 full days worth of time!

I don't belong here, we gotta move on, dear
Escape from this afterlife
'Cause this time I'm right to move on and on
Far away from here

Got nothing against you and surely I'll miss you
This place full of peace and light
And I'd hope you might take me back inside
When the time is right

Friday was a good day and this weekend has been nice.

Just got month/year end files and was happy to put a dent in that stuff for my re-boss. Until I got to my brand's numbers.

Found that accounting was not billing freight and other items that should have on SOME things, but did do some of them correctly. So no rhyme or reason on why...

I now have to go through each transaction made in December and compare what was put in to what was billed. It's off by a significant amount of money.

The error is from accounting, why they would delete lines...I guess I will be finding out. Just going to be really tedious putting together and having to confront people. :smash:

Thanks @NightWolf714! It wasn't too bad, found the three orders fairly quickly and took my original copies to ask about it later. A bigger problem happened during my vacation I didn't know about, so I didn't adjust a number. So that was extra annoying. People think they are nice to leave you off of emails, but at the end of the day, you need to know what happened! Ugh. lol

Today was a good day.

Last night, I signed on my work computer after here and saved myself an hour today knocking a new report out.

My re-boss really liked it, but then he decided he wants the report writer guy to do his like I do....Which he did...in his pivot table format, pulling the ALL CAPS & SPELLING ERRORS from the system that are not consistently abbreviated with each other and the columns in reverse order and to me it's like looking at what nails on chalkboard sound like.

So not really anything to be proud of after all, lol.

Then it snowed a little today. Thankfully not bad, but the next few days, it's going to be under freezing, so it will be icy. Just need to be careful.

Miyagi was cute this morning. He went out a bit before my exercise time, but once I finished the internet, I did my workout to avoid the daily fight. My plan worked! He came back a little bit after I called him when I was done.

We had a great night last night, although he had me get up twice for him being bored. That will probably happen again tonight, but we'll see. lol

This was him last night. I should mention that the banana is full of catnip. :imp:

Lol @TopNotch, those are there definitely for both. :imp:

He needs some weight to keep that down when he jumps on the top to let us know he's ready to go outside, but I wouldn't doubt for a second that he's pumping iron when I go to work...probably why he doesn't want me working out so I can get stronger, too. LOL

Today was a good day.

It is Eastern Orthodox Christmas today. That was the church I was brought up on when I was younger with my maternal grandparents. I always got a kick out of having a 2nd Easter (most years) & a 2nd Christmas. :tuzki-love:

Other kids used to think it meant more presents, but it really didn't. It used to be nice getting out of school and having a big family party with all the cousins.

Don't have that part anymore, but it's nice to remember. I also wore my "Feline Festive" sweatshirt that I also wore on Christmas Eve the other week. It has a cat face wearing a Santa Hat. I also wore my Christmas Cats socks.

So now Christmas can be officially over. LOL

Bonus Christmases are fun. An old coworker of my mate's hosts a "Russian Christmas" in January every year. I don't fully get why it's called that, but I imagine it's similar. Either way, I always feel a bit mixed; happy for more celebrations but also happy for a break once it's done, haha.

I didn't know more than one Christmas is a thing. :0
Is it okay to ask the reason for that? I am not a Christian so naturally I am confused but curious.
Also, why does it not mean more presents? T~T
Different sects celebrate Christmas on different dates. So if your family includes people from different traditions, there might well be more than one celebration.

Also: In western countries "Christmas" is often celebrated by completely non-religious people. It's a secular event as much as a Christian one. Aside from the whole gift-giving frenzy, Christmas is a time of families gathering together for many people. But many people have more than one family. So lots of people have celebrations on whatever dates work for whatever group of people they are celebrating with to get together.

Yep! We've always called it Russian Christmas as well. That is because my church was, well technically is since the church is still around, an
American Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Diocese. Greek Orthodox is also the same as Russian Orthodox so it's easier just to call it Eastern Orthodox.

Now the actual main Russian Orthodox church in Russia has done some fairly recent reprehensible things during this war with Ukraine, but in no way is war/murder a part of the religion. I don't like talking/thinking about these things though, so I really can't elaborate, but my husband told me about it.

@Laura Rainbow Dragon has this right. Our Christmas is always January 7. And Easter is always based on timing from certain moon phases (pretty sure), so sometimes that falls on the same day as Catholic Easter, but often it doesn't.

Now main Christmas celebrations for us (as a family) was still December 25th. So we celebrated both.

My father & his side of my family are Catholic. My mom's mom (my maternal grandmother), was from California and was raised in the Mormon church and her father (my great-grandfather), was a bishop in their church.

My grandfather was from Pennsylvania and met my grandmother while serving in the Navy. My grandmother was happy to convert to Eastern Orthodox for my grandfather. She said she liked the outlook better.

So there is a bit of religion mix in my background! I really just believe in being good and trying to do the right things. :)

Today was a good day, even if it was a bit relentless. Time is just so bad to me today, I can't even read everyone else's posts today..

Just one thing after another. I forced myself to take my lunch jog at 1:40pm. I was starting to get cranky from all the nonsense, but that had me feel better. lol.

Miyagi woke me up at 1am just because he was bored. We played for 40 minutes and then he wanted to go out. I half slept watching the camera for him to return.

Then when my husband got up to go to the bathroom, he came back. My husband said, 'well you wanted to be the favorite' so he didn't volunteer to feed him. lol.

I was able to go back to sleep after feeding him at least, and he did sleep by me for a while before that. He's lucky I love him, lol.

My husband who is a train conductor had off from work today and tomorrow to go to court on behalf of his company. Normally he would have got up at that point since he's normally earlier than me. So hubby was not being a jerk yesterday on his rare chance to sleep in. I would have said the same thing. LOL

Oh I see. The Christian population here is so less. Maybe that's why its not celebrated by everyone here. This was interesting to read

I was able t breathe much easier today thankfully.

Still really cold since it's winter, and Miyagi had me up again, but my husband took the shift around 2am this time so he could stay on schedule for tomorrow when he's back to work.

Had a lot of laughs. Of course once the late afternoon rolled around everything started picking up. But that's par for the course and I was able to keep smiling. lol

Friday was a good day and this weekend has been nice.

Put a lot of time into reformatting something for the new year and finally got that done yesterday. Just have to make one more easy change, but my re-boss likes what I created. :)

And at the end of Friday I got two new "task hats" to wear at the end of the day along with a third I gave to myself earlier that day...

So drowning a bit. Hoping I'll be able to catch up quickly.

Except of course after work on Friday, got a flood of crap we missed this week from website submissions that were not going through. So that section is behind, too.

Not particularly looking forward to tomorrow now, lol. If only I could just focus on the things I am interested in.

Got a lot of rest this weekend which was nice. It's slightly warmer than it's been so Miyagi got to go out for hunting when he needed too.

But he did sleep by me a few times, too. :hheart:

Today was a good day, even if I couldn't keep up with ANY of it.

One of my sites got hacked at today, but luckily doesn't seem to be any real damage. Someone changed my password on me though, but glad I got control back.

At work what I thought I was behind on ended up not being a problem and then all this other stuff came at me.

Did not hit all my goals in anyway.

So speeding through this to hopefully catch up on piled up emails at least.

Thank you @Laura Rainbow Dragon! I know my re-boss & boss do appreciate me.

Today was a good day, even if I was down for most of it.

One positive thing before I get angryish.

Yesterday I forgot about how I got pulled over on my way home. I saw a cop go through a stop sign ahead of me, so I was driving carefully when I turned behind him. Then he was at a red light turning left, and I had a green arrow and went right. He was nice, asked me how I was and I was like 'Well...I was doing good.'.

Lol, he said I didn't stop all the way before turning and I was like 'oh dear, I had a green arrow, I needed to stop?'.

Nope he went and looked at the dash cam, saw I was correct and apologized. Took only 5 minutes. So was thankful yesterday for that.

Now today was good for the most part. Then the nut job and the trophy girl come at me together. I had to send trophy girl promo stuff the nut job sent me for my division's brand so she can hand it out.

I was not happy, but asked her how many she needed and the b-twitch NEVER ANSWERED ME.

So now I was really mad. This is the girl with a superior to me title, where we are both in the same path, but she got to start at the top of her career and my title is equivalent to an entry level janitor (no offense to any actual janitors, it's just the point of doing all the hard tedious work and the other girl's hardest task is handwriting greeting cards and going to parties to had out "swag" hence the title I give her of "trophy girl"). :thrown:

Anywho, so she didn't answer me so then I asked my boss what he wanted me to do. Then he innocently brought up how she was bothering him about answering something for hotel reservations for a sales meeting later this month.

So trophy girl is going to this thing and I was not invited at all. I am so FURIOUS.

My boss wants to ask my re-boss to invite me again, and I said no because he obviously doesn't want me there.

It's an outside rep thing, which I am not, AND NEITHER IS SHE, but last time I did hours of background work that the nut job turned into slides and then she got 100% credit for everything which was bad enough. But now these two are all teamed up to have that for this.

So fucking (sorry) pissed. I'm like literally heart broken. Just sad.

But no need to send condolences. I wouldn't even be mad if this girl didn't have a bullshit title. That is really what I'm mad at. As she does think she is superior to everyone. So F her and F all of them.

So many bullshit "managers" and "executives" at this place that both lack knowledge and also don't do shit. The people doing the hiring should realize this leads to resentment.

Along with this, a raise I was supposed to get in December, didn't come, yet we have THREE new high position people that started. Sure, ok. Only one I accept as my re-boss needed relief from working over 70 hours. The other two...whatever.

And I deserved that raise as I have hands in purchasing, quality control, inventory management for my brand, teaching my coworkers the new software, putting items into that every time one is needed because the girl in the other state doesn't answer emails or her phone, on top of all the stuff I was hired for in the first place and the other stuff I do for my re-boss which is the ONLY stuff I want to do all day...all right deep breath, lol.

Another girl that sits by me, going through the same thing, the "lowly" receptionist that does most of HR's job and now also billing because someone quit, doesn't get help to get the billing taken away because we needed a higher position in FINANCE yet none of the people in accounting can do billing...whatever.

Showing it's not just me, but this is forever what happens to proverbial cows that give the milk away for free.

So as far as being the outsider for this thing goes, I'm going to go do something myself after work. Far away from them.
[/ridiculous_rant]

I have to keep stepping up my plans to find something for my own to focus on. Which I have been, but don't want to elaborate too much on until something sticks, as to not jinx anything.

With one idea I had, a class I wanted to take is now being offered as something else that I'm not as interested in now, so I'll wait another semester to try that.

As for going out more, I wanted to do that Thursday, but I have a meeting with mostly warehouse managers/people that day so I don't want to dress up.

The past few months of office things I ended up being extra dressed up for stuff and only two out of like seven were on purpose. So I want to be more demure, but then I won't want to go out.

Maybe next week then, but it might snow.
I'll probably just throw a dress in my bag and get changed before I go. I'll see how I feel later in the week.

I'm talking way too much now, but I do feel a little better. Have to get through a different meeting tomorrow where they will probably all be talking about what they need to do for their upcoming end of the month meeting thing, but I'll try to grin and bear it.

At least while the camera is on. lol I'll have to keep my eyerolling in check.

Well, yes and no, @NightWolf714. I wasn't putting things into perspective. :)

Today was a good day. Much better. I did a LOT of good stuff today.

So while I was still moderately annoyed in the morning, I let everything go.

I'm really just happy to be around my re-boss, like it makes my soul happy. Even if I really only get him for 5-10 minutes a day, if that as sometimes he's travelling.

He's just one of those type of people.

So I did my normal stuff and some new stuff. Knocked a lot of tasks off the list and coordinated a lot of things to get done with others.

Then my normal boss called. A good conversation.

I was totally wrong about yesterday. Those two other people are not forming some alliance.

Oh, not at all. They can't stand each other and there is all this drama going on between them.

Now, I don't want to come across as sounding happy for that, because I'm not, but I am happy that I really don't have to deal with either one of them.

So this thing I'm not invited to...Now I'm happy I am out of it. That is a blessing.

And no point to be jealous these two, ok they'll have their 5 minutes of praise, but at the end of the day, the people that this meeting thing is for...none of them want to be there anyway. So it really doesn't matter. No one gives a poop. :tears::u:

Plus my re-boss isn't running it, his new underling is. And I don't care about that guy. :)

Nothing against him, he's coming across as a bit of a dictator type while my re-boss is challenge you to do better, but still lift people up so you want to do better type.

Does not seem I will be missing anything.

My re-boss used to be strong with confucius type sayings. One he always used to say, which applied to financial type things, but I am still able to apply it here.

I was jumping over dollars to pick up quarters. I was focused on something that in the grand scheme of everything is with so much less than the bigger picture.

So hoorah for perspective.

Her title still pisses me off, but most people I knows' title are a joke so it doesn't matter.

Only one thing that made me nervous today. My normal boss brought up he now wants me to take care of his importing for him, and I have no interest in that. Plus something with trademarks, and another thing for finding jobs and contacts on a site that is very cumbersome to navigate, which has been brought up like 20 times, but I don't have time for.

Which he doesn't care about because he's considering it that he's paying for me, and he also has no idea of how much I actually do. I work over 8 hours and I rarely get a chance to breathe.

The past few months he has also listed literally everything else he does as something he wants me to do instead.

I'm like.

The one girl I work with with was like, well what does he think he's going to do then, he has to work, too. Actually she said it in a much more to the point and funny way, but my brain is tired now to say it correctly. lol

So smiles all around today. :)

Thank you, @PetiteSheWolf!

Today was a great day. :ss:

It was also ditz day. lol

First one I noticed was when it was time to leave, instead of grabbing my to-go coffee cup that has a silicone lid to make a keurig coffee with, I grabbed my favorite glass mug and put instant coffee in it. That I had to put back. lol

Then I had a meeting today, so I took only 1/2 hour for lunch. After, I had something to enter in my emails and I couldn't read all my emails, so I picked the wrong one and copied it against something I did yesterday and not something further back.

Oops! My co-worker had to fix it when I was in the meeting lol.

The meeting was a year in review meeting my tertiary boss has that is also the quarterly leadership meeting. So even though I am technically not one as mentioned the other day, I've got to go to the past couple of these plus he had other different types of meetings he pulled me into to represent.

So still really grateful for that. Plus all the other people from the other departments are really cool.

And I can listen to this guy talk all day. He's very motivating.

Plus my re-boss was there this time and he gave a really nice wrap it up speech at the end. I've missed those!

So everything around that was a bit hectic today in that it was hard to keep up with things, but I did really good impromptu side projects. Plus I thought I would be staying late and then I was able to surprisingly wrap things up good enough and leave on time.

I did want to go out after work today, but we ate at this meeting so that ended up being my dinner. Although my husband forgot to eat a salad he got with his take out, so I had did have that.

Plus it was threatening snow before I left and it was starting to flurry. I'll have to do something next week.

Oh, and then after I came home, instead of washing out my to-go coffee cup, I brought it to the couch with me. So I came full circle. LOL

There was a lot of other stuff, Miyagi was cute, lots of other distractions, but I fell asleep for 1/2 hour while writing this so I'm just going to end it here.

Friday was another great day and this weekend has been nice. :ss:

Got a lot of good stuff done, including impromptu projects.

With that, had super fast verbal instructions from my re-boss to put something together, and although I didn't like not being able to find a solution for an averaging formula to ignore not having data to still return a result, my re-boss gave me a good job and the new guy he sent it to called it AMAZING in all caps just like that, lol.

So I'll listen to them and not me, LOL. :tears::u:

Yesterday my hubby took me out to eat and we had a great time.

Miyagi slept by me twice last night. It's been a little warmer so he had some nice outings.

Now today it is supposed to snow 2-4 inches, so he will not be happy about that, lol. Hoping it doesn't happen.

Today was a good day.

It stopped snowing last night before bed, so with it also being an American Holiday that probably about 70% of people have off, I drove into the office instead of staying home.

Was glad I did. The morning was really nice, but then we all got insanely busy.

By the end of the day I couldn't process any more information, I was overloaded, lol.

Did have a few pangs with defeatist tears for my future path, like seriously only maybe 10 seconds a clip.

Luckily being busy helped me make my voices stop.

Hopefully I'll be able to get back to normal after next week's bullcrap. I have a feeling it will be rubbed extra hard in my face, but whatever.

I wanted to go out after work today, but the weather was bad enough I didn't bother dressing up.

And then the guy that salts the ice did not do it next to my car again, so there is this huge ice patch I can't avoid, so I can't wear nice shoes tomorrow either. They did that last time, it took a week to melt, but this time, we are not going above freezing for a bit, so it's annoying.

Last time, no company officers were working in NJ so they didn't see it. Hopefully someone notices for me and says something this time. I have no idea who to ask.

Next week is supposed to be above freezing with hopefully no precipitation.

I think I'll go out on Wednesday when everyone else does and then call out on Thursday just to be a b-twitch.

Use it or lose it! Which is so opposite my last 20+ years of work ethics, but I'll enjoy it. LOL :tears::u:

And nothing lasts forever
For all good days it's true
I'd rather tred it all
For somehow saving you
It must have been the season
That've threw us out of line
Once I stood so tall
Now I'm searching for a sign

So don't need your salvation
With promises and kind
And all those speculations
Save it for another time
'Cause we all need a reason
A reason just to stay
Some just can't be bothered
To stick around another day

Yikes! Please be careful.

I seriously need to look into getting some crampons for my winter boots. I come home exhausted from taking Shelby for even short walks these days, I'm working so hard to not wipe out on all of the ice. (And there are so many people in my neighbourhood who are obviously far less stable on their feet than I am. I really feel for them.)
