Happy New Year Darebee!!! Hopefully this year is a little more controlled then the last! I'm back traveling for work and looks like I will be until the end of March but on the plus side I get to head home after that so the New Year is already kicking off to a good start. I'm looking to lose a bit of weight before my medical exam on 2-5-24 so I decided on a plan that favored cardio. I'm not in the shape I was previous so I filtered for level 2 and now I'm doing Reboot. It reminds me of the boss battles in Hero's Journey which to date is my favorite program. On paper today's workout looked pretty easy but it definitely got my heart rate up and got me sweating. Looking forward to more of this.

I've noticed something about Reboot. Only having two exercises per day is BORING!!! My mind really starts to wander after the 3rd set. If it is a low burn day, like today, it really is tough to finish. That said I'm blessed to have this and I'm going to finish it. Feel a bit guilty about griping about it and I guess the simplicity might be a blessing for someone else. Different strokes for different folks I guess. I'll see if I still feel the same way after the first week of it.

Both today and yesterday have been rough. The 140 lunges I did on Sunday, followed by the 7 mile hike, really burned up my legs and this illness I have been fighting is winning. Went to medical yesterday and got some amoxicillin to try to fight this stuff off since it refuses to leave. I'm going to skip the mountain climber day 4 of reboot because I don't see my legs coming back for another day or two. I'll try the day 5 tomorrow and hopefully I'll be able to do the jumping jacks. Might have to take a few days until I heal up completely.

Well yesterday, while doing the leg raises, I tweaked my back and now I can hardly move around. No hiking today and no working out. I've decided that the Reboot program isn't really in alignment with my goals and since I keep getting hurt doing it I'm going to move on to a different program. With that in mind I'll be starting 60 days of cardio on Monday. Tomorrow I am going to hike if I can.
Back is still hurting but I got in a good hike today.

Alright. I think the hike yesterday helped put my back in order though it certainly didn't feel like it at the time. As planned I switched from Reboot to 60 Days of Cardio and I'm feeling like I made the right decision. Day one even with my recent illness and my back still being semi tender was doable up to the max 7 sets and the workout was much more engaging. My goal is really to trim down to 180 lbs sometime before summer and to develop some consistency with my workouts. I feel like this plan will help by giving me exercises I can do daily, without DOMS, and it focuses on cardio. I do want to try a program that builds strength but I'm going to hold that off until April to May at the earliest though I might do one more cardio program depending on how I'm feeling at the end of 60 days.

Not my best day today. I'm noticing a trend where when I travel away from home I start to get more and more depressed as I cross over two weeks away from home.
