Hi Folks! To make this short I used to post here back in the old forum days and I had gotten myself into pretty good shape. Unfortunately, life gets in the way and now I'm back to where I started (bad shape and overweight). Fortunately, I've been here before and my new project doesn't have me working 13 days straight with 1 off. Therefore, I've got some time to dial this back in.

Last time I started with Hero's Journey and this time I have too. I completed day one yesterday and today I finished day 2. It felt good to dust off the cobwebs and I'm looking forward to some good times with my fellow bees.

I chose option B. I remember when this workout was easy but it sure wasn't today. I got 7 sets in and that was enough. Looking forward to picking a weapon tomorrow.

Heroes Journey Day 3

I did yard work on Saturday which wore me out enough that I didn't have the energy for Heroes Journey. I made up for it on Sunday and completed day 3 of Heroes Journey. For yesterday I chose the bow and arrow mostly because I wanted to go out for a run. I think long term though I will stick with the hammer as it will be easier to fit into my routine.

Today I was feeling a bit wore out from everything and still a bit sore from the run. Due to this I decided to take the day off and get some rest. Work was busy though so I got plenty of steps in

Back at heroes journey. Core strength has always been my weak point but I got through the workout decent enough. I imagine I might be a bit sore tomorrow but time will tell. I enjoyed the workout.

Day 7 (7-26-23)

Heroes Journey had a leg day today. Unfortunately, my legs are a bit tore up from the run the other day. I think I'm a bit heavy to be running right now. Knees are feeling pretty rough. Due to this I called it after 3 sets. Not ideal but necessary for the day. Got to protect the knees.

It's been a bit rough finding motivation this time around. I've been just generally worn out and just haven't been feeling the workout. I worked through it today though and finished my workout. Felt good. I've lost a lot of strength and endurance but I'm not completely back to where I started so that is a positive. I'm going to focus on working out this week and hopefully I can keep making progress.

Busy day at work today. I climbed up and down stairs almost all day. My poor legs are butter. It was a good day though and a good workout. I only finished level one but with everything going on I'm happy to have knocked it out.

200 squat jumps at my current weight seemed like a bad idea so I elected for the easier workout. It was still fun though. This trip though Hero's Journey has been a good one. Looking forward to trying to be more consistent as I get the house set up.

Push-up days are my favorite and today didn't disappoint. I did much better than last time adding 12 additional push-ups to my previous total. I feel like some of my strength is coming back to me which is a nice feeling. Can't wait to break 20 push-ups in a row again.

I tried to push day 15 out today but my body just didn't have anything left. Not sure why but towards Wednesday I feel really worn down lately. I get a second wind by Friday typically which is positive. I guess this is just going to be my natural rhythm for awhile. I'm thinking that my body will strengthen over time and my endurance will increase. Not sure if I'll repeat day 15 or if I will just move on. Right now I'm thinking move on and just let things flow.

Day 1 (restart): (12-10-23)

Its been awhile. Work moved me to California and I fell off the wagon. I've unfortunately gained a lot of weight in the last year and my routine physical, conducted after Thanksgiving, showed it. I've got high cholesterol (the bad kind) and my liver has some kind of issue. Fortunately, my Doctor seems to think if I get my life in order I might not need medication (I really don't want to go on medication). I've got until 2-5-2024 to make some progress. Right about this time Fit December bounced up on my radar and I remembered how much fun Christmas time was here at Darebee. Between Fit December and hiking here in California I'm hoping I can get myself together. I'm 11 days in on Fit December and I'm loving it.

Today's workout being core style work was on the harder side but I made it through. Took a bit but if it was easy it wouldn't be worth doing. I'm really enjoying Fit December. Very much worth a try for anyone interested.

I've set somewhat of an early new years resolution / goal. I don't care if I workout, miss a day or if I can only do 60 march steps. I'm going to log it and this log is going to hit day 365! Here we go and cheers to a year with Darebee!

I'm flying home tomorrow to be with the family over Christmas. Not sure if its the time away from home but I've been jamming out to this lately:


Some times music just hits. I'm blessed to work in a good profession that is lucrative and interesting but the time away from home and all the hours worked sometimes makes me wonder if I'm actually living. I don't really have an answer right now but I think I need to think about it in the next few months.
