"Progress, not perfection"
Hi All! I just realized Darebee has a community! Yay! I've used darebee off and on for a number of years now but have been away from it for a while.

For 2023, my key word is Consistency. I'm looking to build more consistency in my life in all things, fitness being the #1 priority. Right now I consistently attend a cardio kickboxing class twice a week and work with a personal trainer once a week. Those have been constants for a few years now. What has not been consistent is exercising or moving in some way every. single. day. I have a sedentary job and commute an hour each way. This past year I have dealt a LOT with an autoimmune condition and what we believe is a connective tissue disorder and these have caused me to gradually spiral downwards with my daily activity levels.

In the past I've:

  • Completed P90X. Twice.
  • Lost more than 100lbs
  • Completed a variety of other BeachBody works
  • Completed numerous 5K's
  • Completed a half marathon
  • Completed 75Hard
  • Completed a variety of challenges
  • Survived Army Basic Training, AIT, and Officer Candidate School (all extremely physically rigorous)
  • Built a home gym capable of any workout I might want to do
So.... I have the tools. I have the knowledge. So what's holding me back? Nothing but my own mind, that's what. So.... 2023 I'm coming for you! Consistency is key! 🗝️

I'm off to a bad start for consistency with checking in but I've done well with consistently working out!

12/28/22:
1 hr cardio kickboxing

12/29/22:
12 min treadmill walk, 10 x 99lb deadlifts (am)
32 min treadmill walk, Level 1 Full Swing Workout

12/30/22:
15 min walk on treadmill (it was all I had time for but it was better than nothing!)

  • 2.5 hours of a mashup class at my local group fitness studio! Whew! I taught the cardio kickboxing portion. Other categories were Urban Beatz (dance), Zumba, Tone (strength), and finished off with a PiYo style class called Energize (stretching and mobility).
  • Stealth squat challenge
  • Full Swing challenge with @igiveafit

I haven't been good about keeping this thread updated thanks to a bug in the Samsung keyboard that erroneously inserts line breaks on forum posts like this. It would literally insert hundreds of lines. Maddening!! Switched to the Microsoft Swift keyboard and it looks like all is well now! Yay! :D

So I've been doing well with my challenges and have maintained doing my Stealth challenge and the Full Swing Kettlebell Challenge with @igiveafit every day. I also started doing yoga through Asana Rebel (which is a super impressive app, especially for someone like me who is relatively inexperienced with yoga).

I've been using Noom as well and love that it focuses on the psychology and behaviors behind a person's relationship with food and fitness VS. Just counting calories or macros.

So now that my keyboard works and I can post from my phone again hopefully I can be more active here! :)

Super tired again this evening after an exhausting day at work. Had to put a lot of energy in due to two interviews and meeting the director of the program that sends us college students for our SOC. It was a great day but I'm ready for some down time for sure! Karaoke here I come!

Day 20 Full Swing and Stealth challenge done!

Day 28 Full Swing Kettlebell Challenge With @igiveafit and stealth challenge complete!

Also got my new Assault Runner Pro treadmill set up today! See video for a quick demo (not your standard treadmill). Tested it out more after the video and did 20/10 intervals on it (20sec sprint, 10s walk, 8 times). Smooth as silk and infinitely better than trying to do that on a motorized treadmill!! Expensive but worth the money!!

Day 1 PPL off to a good start with @igiveafit! Also started a new Stealth challenge for February! And of course, being Wednesday, I also did cardio kickboxing. Great start to a short month!

Day 3 Push Pull Legs With @igiveafit and Stealth challenge complete! I swapped days 3 and 4 since I'll be away from home so I don't have to lug weights to a hotel room.
