Love such an easy exercise on day 31!
We pre-ordered Dylan's book in February
Some months ago it came out you could buy a signed copy
So we got that, too
The first book (that I read and photographed) was her copy

I've jumped in joy more than once today

Nobu got his collar off yesterday
Until I found it today I could not tell our kittens apart

I'm very hopeful for jump rope
I tried it a while ago and my legs did not like it at all
Fingers crossed for this try!
Epic Arms definitely looks monotonous, but it's very easy at least
Zen is the perfect addition
I contemplated one of the other yoga programs, but I really like using Zen to cool down
Nobu curled up on the back of the couch today
He did land on me last night, though!
He's remarkably warm
I had the air conditioning on next to me and was still sweating a bit!
I didn't move for the better part of an hour
(Can you blame me?)
Good: figured out logistics of using the jump rope (outside and in the garage)
Happy: Jumping rope is great cardio!
Basics
I like the garage for jumping rope, but I need to add a foam pad
The force of bouncing on concrete is not good on everything below my knees
We have a spare pad in the basement, luckily!
The heat is an added bonus
I'm definitely working up a sweat!
I had both Casper and Nobu on the back of the couch!
Nobu was put out that Casper got the spot behind me first
Good: no nap
Happy: I'm very much enjoying jumping rope!

Chrome had me update it
Everything was reset

Now I get to track down my first notebook and figure out exactly where I am

In happier news, I saw Tyler!
He stretched my legs very well!
At his recommendation, I'm going to be holding my arms at a much lower position while jumping rope
Tennis elbow is hitting a bit right now
My pad idea was good but not feasible
The pad is too small
I'm trying with one of my yoga mats tomorrow
Good: not letting chrome difficulties bother me too much
Happy: at least all of my tabs were recoverable?

Couldn't find my thick mat, so made do without it today
(Ouch)
I'm going to try putting the short pad under my good (but thin) mat tomorrow
That may just work!
I need to do something different, though, because my lower legs are definitely hurting right now
Nobu cuddled on the top of the couch again
He used my hand as a pillow and grabbed it when I tried to move
Mom works tomorrow and then has off for a week

Double padding mostly worked!
There are a few things to work out, but I found slate tiles that should hold the ends in place
My legs feel much better today!
Nobu has been in a mood?
He meowed at random times at nothing
He also rolled off the cat tree and almost took out a lamp
So it's probably just a day for him
I got cuddles out of it, so I'm not complaining!
A new food truck will be at the county fair that's fully gluten free
My sister and I (and maybe our brother, if his schedule allows) will be going!
That's after the naval pier and art gallery with my parents next week!
There are other things we may do, but those are the guarantees
My social battery is going to be completely depleted
I'm looking forward to it!

Woke up sore from the jumping and push ups yesterday
Decided to give myself a short break
I'll catch up tomorrow!
Fell asleep on the couch last night
Woke up 3 times and went right back to sleep
Nobu was on my legs!
Finally dragged myself to bed and he joined me again!
Made one of Dylan's recipes!
Gingerbread!
The process was different and the texture is downright bouncy!
I would not have expected a recipe with 1 cup of butter and 5 eggs to be this light!
The flavor is awesome! So much ginger! It's a little bit spicy!
I'll post pictures tomorrow when the lighting is better

Basics Yesterday and Today
I had to stop 2 sets short for jumping rope
Every time I tried the rope got caught on something or I tripped somehow
After 6 attempts I decided the universe was telling me something
I got in plenty of steps, so it's not a total loss!
We were going to go to the art gallery on Wednesday, but they're closed then
So we went today!
I actually only took one picture, so if you're curious, a local media company did an amazing piece on it!

It's was dark and raining for a good portion of the day
We spent the day reading and watching tv
I took a nap
It's been an excellent day!
We have plans to go to the naval pier tomorrow
(That was a request of mine; we haven't gone in years!)
If the weather stays clear, we will also go to Shakespeare in the Park
It's Romeo and Juliet, so I'll have music and a book, but the experience is lovely regardless

The Naval Park was delightful!
I forgot that the Sullivan had been damaged 2 years ago
(The hull weakened and the ship took on water)
It actually just opened again this month!
If they can gather the money needed (14 million), it'll take about a year to be fixed
Fingers crossed it can be!
There was more walking than I had remembered, though
I'm definitely feeling it right now!
If it doesn't abate by tomorrow, I'll postpone the jumping rope
Mom decided she didn't want to do Shakespeare in the Park today
I'm not at all heartbroken!
Nobu insisted on cuddling last night
By that, I mean he insisted I hold him to my side
Because my lap wasn't good enough??

Eight months apart and there's not that much difference!

My legs felt fine this morning!
I only started feeling them after 350 jumps
(400 total today was very nice)
We celebrated my mom's birthday today
Had a few people over
I was okay in the beginning, but then my mouth just sort of glued shut
Did get to see my sister, which is always a delight
And she's looking into moving closer to us!
That would be spectacular for a number of reasons
Mom had a great night, which is all that's important!
Good: only had to be a room away from everyone
Happy: sister! a great night for everyone else! almost got Nobu downstairs!

The kittens were chock full of energy
I wasn't
Other than a quick trip to the store, I've read
It's been delightfully calm!
Just super unproductive
Mom and Dad did the same thing, at least!
There's a festival tomorrow that Mom and Dad are going to
It's 2.5 hours away and one that another clan member sets up, thankfully
I do get a day to myself!
Good: carried the cat litter
Happy: a generic lack of energy is better than I usually get after a social event!

Basics Yesterday and Today
Skipped the jump rope again
My system just said no to that one
I'll catch up over the next 2 days
There was a tornado warning in the town with the festival
Mom and Dad did not go
Dad received tickets to the first preseason Bills game, though!
So he and my brother went to that
Mom and I spent several hours in silence
(I had a nap in there. I feel much better now!)
This brat won't sleep on my chest! I was lying flat! It was stable!
It's also the first time in 4 days he's sat on me
I'd be more upset, but there's been a weight at the end of my bed those 4 days
I'm calling it him and feeling happy about it!
Good: nap seems to have reset me
Happy: quiet day with Mom!

It's Mom's last day off
She wanted a quiet day at home, so that's what we did!
My uncle and cousins came over for supper!
We haven't seen them in ages!
One of my cousins is going to Greece for 4 months

But Casper was curious enough!

Bee worked me over very well!
There were a few spots I almost couldn't finish
That very rarely happens
My traps and pecs are very good right now
She can tell when I've been doing pushups very easily!
And I learned today that I have very flexible ankles?

Theo is so soft !

My body did not want to jump rope today
I kept making mistakes after only a few jumps
It was only 3 minutes total, though, so I pushed through!
I'm pretty sure it's just my muscles not wanting to be worked after seeing Bee

I had an incredibly stressful event today
I kept my calm and only have a headache as a result
I'm so proud of myself!
Nobu curled up against my leg when I overslept
So I was in bed much longer than I like being, but I got cuddles
It evens out!

My reward was Nobu cuddles!
Bees, Nobu brought me laughter last night!
I was almost crying just before falling asleep!
Nobu followed me through my ablutions and we were both surprised by Nox on my bed (!!!)
Nobu investigated and Nox asserted himself with a good head cleaning
They tussled for a bit, which was hysterical
The giggles I was suppressing because everyone else was sleeping!
It was a truly exceptional way to fall asleep!
And Casper was very upset he couldn't watch out the window from his preferred seat

Good: cousin visited briefly and it didn't devolve into political discord

Went to three new stores
One was a co-op that has some awesome options!
We got the cats a small stuffed thing (pocket? pillow? it's not a toy...) filled with catnip
They're certainly enjoying it!
Nobu seems to like it the most, but Nox has stolen it a few times now!

I'm catching up with my body quite well!
I just feel tired, not run down
It's been exactly as quiet and calm as I need
Regarding the cookie last night:

(Raw powdered sugar; not the flavor royal icing has ever had for me)

We had a blast at lunch (partly because of our waitress and partly because of alcohol)
Then we saw Blue Beetle (review to come)
And I just finished an hour long chat with my sister
I have a headache, but what a day!
Blue Beetle:
I love this movie! I thought the balance between fun and drama was spectacularly done. The focus on family was well written and exceptionally executed. I teared up twice. Nana is my favorite and no one can convince me otherwise!
As an origin story I think it was well done. I only had one moment where I wanted to shake a character and remind them it's DC! There are acknowledged heros! Ask for help!
Overall, it's definitely a movie I will watch again. If they follow through with the mid credit scene, I'll definitely watch a sequel!
I don't often go to the theatre, especially when it's busy, but it was fun to have a bunch of people reacting the same as me
And I get to do it again soon!
There probably won't be many people watching Haunted Mansion (I plan on going midweek), but I may be surprised!
